Anything with a Video RC?
No RC no deal.
I use either this or my mavic pro 3 daily as a photographer. I prefer using my phone with the standard remote. The standard remote stays charged longer and I can download images straight to my phone faster. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max which is plenty bright enough. Just my 2 cents
My experience with iPhone as the monitor was the overheating problem in sunny days, the phone will be forced to dim the screen which is ridiculous.
fyi you can set the brightness of your phone screen to your preferred brightness.
@eggaz: Nah nah this is different. When iPhones (and some others) get above a certain temp they force dim the screen brightness to reduce heat. Usually the new max brightness will be a bit less than half the regular brightness - and you can’t override this in anyway.
@eggaz: I meant I forced my iPhone to max brightness but the screen still dims a lot when the phone thinks the temperature is too high. I would say the overheating protection made me stopped using iPhones as a drone monitor.
@Spacexyz: 💯 really annoying
fyi you can set the brightness of your phone screen to your preferred brightness.
Doesn't work. When you go outside the phone automatically dims to protect itself.
Ask me how I know…
So your argument is that the remote stays charged longer but you also need to use your phone, which also needs to be charged lol
I don't think there's a single pro in using the standard remote except perhaps saving a few bucks.I always kept the "charging phone" function off to keep the phone cool a bit but iPhone still overheats in sunny days and dims the screen a lot when I use it as a drone remote monitor.
Probably the main advantage is a phone screen is typically larger and if you want really large you can put a tablet/iPad on.
Some serious users actually prefer standard remote so that they can use a brighter and/or larger screen and/or third party mapping apps.
100% agree. Iphone Pro max is wider, brighter, faster.
best of all, its placed above the remote.Was never a fan of screens below the remote.
you hide parts of the screen depending on your hand size….expect this is intentional design choice to later release higher positioned RC Remote screens to get the community to upgrade for the sake of it
my 2 cents
20c now. Inflation.
Suitable for use in combat?
Wait for proper RC, no deal.
Mini 4 pro wasn't much more and definitely worth the extra
Can you elaborate why I should pay extra for Mini 4 pro?
lots of reasons
-> way longer range with the RC2
-> side obstacle avoidance
-> waypoints
-> new activetrack modes
I will only pay this price for a Mini 3 Pro if it comes with pro RC and Fly More combo.
That I would buy without a second thought.
i didn't even have a 3rd thought and just game my card.
would buy without a second thought
