I can’t check as I’ve used my stays plus, however generally the entry level room is what you can get if stays plus is available.
So assuming hotel has stays plus available you would have a copayment of over $120 for the sky executive room.

How do Red Hot Rooms work? If there’s no availability a few weeks out, is there any chance discounted rooms will turn up closer to the date?
yes red hot rooms are often offered closer to the date but there is never a guarantee and unlikely it a peak time for the location.

There's availability at Sofitel Darling Harbour, including free night eligibility. An example is the Deluxe Room (Queen , City skyline view) for the 2 nights, $436 for the first night, $30 co-pay for the second night.

I’ve used my stays plus so can’t check to see if you can use that but Accor Plus rates average around $100 per night including breakfast for the superior (entry level) room,
Mercure Penang beach is available for $0 on the 9th using StayPlus. But it's only $97 for the night including breakfast so probably not the best use of free night.
We stayed here for a few days earlier in the year. Got upgraded to a suite which was basic but massive room and amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is located right on the beach and it's a clean beach but not really for swimming. There isn't much to do in the area, there are a couple of good restaurants but that's about it. The hotel restaurant is also average but fine for breakfast. We usually stay in Georgetown as there is so much to do and eat within walking distance.

Yes, 6 hotels available including the free night benefit. 4 are free, including Mercure icon Singapore City Centre and Grand Mercure Roxy. Pullman Orchid has a minimum $160/night copay, Novotel on Orchid minimum $23 copay

Highly unlikely.. The Accor plus account holder needs to be there to check in/stay on the room.
You might get lucky and it works or yuu in could find the hotel doesn’t allow check in and depending on the booking terms you may not be able to cancel and get the stays plus recredited to your account.

This hotel tends to only release free nights within the next month. If you free night expires in Feb you have to stay before Feb.
Thanks for the insight, aware I need to use my current free night before the expiry, however doesn't help when trying to plan to use the new free night, if I decide to renew.
