Citizen Mechanical collection Automatic movement Tsuyosa (Strength in Japanese) watch NJ0155-87E

The "Tsuyosa" Automatic, from the Mechanical collection, brings ultramodern sports styling right to your wrist. Executed in a versatile 40mm case, the sophisticated design of the watch makes a strong impression via a black plated stainless steel case and a seamlessly integrated, matching bracelet. Underneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the sporty timepiece makes use of a black urban camo dial, with a 3 o’clock date window and contrasting silver-tone details adding to its classic aesthetic. Powered by an automatic movement and offering up to 50 meters of water resistance, the refined timepiece is a daily wearing choice ready for work, play, and everything in between.

The Tsuyosa NJ0155-87E is powered by the Citizen 8210 mechanical automatic movement. Powered by the release of a wound spring, mechanical movements never require a battery. Automatic mechanical movements have an oscillating weight that winds the spring with the motion of the wearer’s arm. The 8210 features 21 jewels and beats at 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and has a power reserve of 40 hours once fully charged.

Additional features of the NJ0155-87E feature 3 hands and a day & date function at the 3'o clock marker. It has a water resistance rating up to WR50m / 5 bar. The mens NJ0155-87E has a case size of 40mm with a thickness of 11.7mm. The lug-to-lug size is 45mm. The NJ0155-87E is fitted with a flat anti-reflective Sapphire crystal glass with a cyclops over the date window at the 3 o'clock marker. The bezel is a smooth fixed bezel with a high polish finish. The watch weigh approximately 140gm.

oh man if only it didnt integrated lugs

That dial would look sweet with a nato strap.

  • Yeah not a fan, the crown is an absolute dog to use, pita. Not many people like the cyclops either, but sapphire is good for the price and fairly comfortable. I reckon they should have made these quartz, the miyota 8000 series not the best now (the new ones on these hack apparently now at least)

    • I picked a white one up about a month ago and it hacks. It’d be worthwhile checking though in case it’s old stock.

      • So did mine (white also), maybe I would have kept it if it was a colour but was a bit Pointless personally.
        They are nice though.

    • Unless it's a deliberately old-timey decorative watch, Quartz is simply superior

        Uh oh.

Think of modern mechanical watches like jewelry. People like all kinds of things and value is assigned to all kinds of things, some of which is superfluous or inferior to modern technology.

Mechanical watches aren't valuable because they're better than quartz, but because they're difficult to design and manufacture and some people appreciate that.

        • Agree they both have their place, and pros and cons. They are a marvel of craftsmanship, of course no one needs a watch if you have a phone, PC clock, microwave clock etc. They are nice to have and appreciated.

            @G-rig: "microwave clock"

hey hey hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. nearly every microwave clock I have ever had stays flashing at 0:00 and that's how it's always going to be lol.

            • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: The OCD in me couldn't live with that.
Better than wrong (although a wrong clock is right twice a day).

  • still available until about 10am today.

  • Hi @shaffer15, just noticed today's DOTD is the King Samurai which you've posted before but it's $549 this time.
