  • Are you able to list the physical dimensions? W x H x D, internal drive bays etc. Trying to compare it to a HP N40L.

    • +1

      Sure Obs,
      WxDxH = 175x390x410mm

  • I thought Windows 8 was like $100 for a new install, not $160 :o

    • +1

Maybe they are charging a install fee for Windows, I've seen a few stores do it

      • Save your money, http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/bloggingwindows/archive/2…

If you have a copy of windows xp/vista/7 Win 8 pro only costs $40

        • I'm assuming it won't upgrade windows xp OEM licenses…? I've got a few spares of those lying around.

        • -3

Lol OEM licenses should never be "lying around". Major Microsoft copyright infringement there, by law these can not be removed from their initial machine. With that in mind, the Upgrade option most likely will not work for OEM keys, but try and let me know how you go!

        • +5

          'by law' = RUBBISH

you mean 'by their licensing agreement'.

          law…pfffft.

        • OEM is included, if you dont mind the fact that its only meant to be on the one machine then its an extremely cheap win 8 pro!

        • Who said I'm not a systems builder with some unused, unregistered OEM keys?

        • +3

Zzzzz as a Microsoft Partner it's as good as law for me! We're all legit and what not :) But of course, as a end-user i'm sure there are weird and wonderful ways around this stuff.

      • +4

        Hi Guys,

To clarify the Windows 8 starts from $110 for Home Premium and $160 for Professional.

If you're clever and want Windows 8 Pro, grab the Windows 7 Prem for $110 and upgrade to 8 Pro online for $15 extra. $125 total for Win 8 Pro :P SNEAKY SNEAKY!

  • -1

    Balls can build it cheaper?!

    • Show me the parts then Fincky :)

    • +1

So what's your point. You can build it cheaper but can you find a cheaper price for those that can't build?

      • +2

Plus also consider the headache behind being your own warranty provider. Some customers prefer paying a few dollars extra because if they have any issues with the machine someone else is there to support them and sort the issue out.

      • +2

he's making a reference to a previous post

        • +2

I remember that post… was a bit of a laugh :D He was so determined too!

        • Not a very good memory rep ;)

        • +2

Too many e-warriors to remember :P

  • .

  • +7

    Impressive.

    With a

    • monitor or TV
    • Keyboard/Mouse
    • OS

You have a capable PC for study/office/web.

Throw in a cheap GPU and you're gaming - even a $65 6670 beats console performance and plays all new games (with 'low' res and quality - still looks great). $285 total.

Later on when you have a bit more money to spare, you can throw in a fast SSD (it supports SATA3 6Gbps), serious GPU, i5/i7, more RAM, etc.

  • "BUY ONE GET ONE FREE ON SELECTED AMD GAMING PC'S"

Can't find any information online; can you at least provide some information so we can figure out if it's worth coming in? I trust it is not just MSY price x2.

    • +1

Lol revacious, we only have ONE deal advertised online which is visible in our catalogue, www.visiontech.com.au/buyersguide . As per the post, the full listing of will only be available in store, on the day. I can promise you the prices will not be MSY x2, AMD is directly sponsoring and funding this event so thanks to their support we will definately have some very aggressive deals on the day!

Also keep in mind, all PC sales include free games + all customers are invited to enter our CS:GO tournament and win some sick gaming peripherals! We'll have stacks of RAZER gaming gear to give away + a $2500 MEGA BEAST PC to give away to our best player on the day! Keep in mind though you'll be VSing the #1 BF3 player world wide though, so get some practice in while you can!

      • Will there be any online specials on the day for those in other states?

        • Hi leech,

Best thing you can do is call through on the day, we can email you the deals and then you can choose your favourite and order via email or on the phone :)

        • please post on ozbargain

      • no1 in bf3 doesnt mean number 1 in FPS
also cs go is a totally different game mechanic to bf
less shots required to kill, better accuracy control, less reliance on scoping

basically you can beat him if you are a good quake player :)

        • deathdog was also in team immunity, #1 ranked CSS in aus.

        • Lol that's right revacious :P #1 in BF3 is his greatest title, but he also kicks butt globally in a variety of other FPS games.

        • Umm good luck with that if you do go and try beating him make sure not to bring any friends lol.

        • No, BRING FRIENDS! Gang up on him :P It's 4 player free for all guys! If 3 of the 4 players decide to work together we can't help that ;) Maybe iM-deathdoG will have a challenge this way!

  • This is a celeron right?

How would it cope with 1080p and similar media?
Struggling to find reviews for it.

    • Hi Toshin,

      The Intel G550 is a Celeron dual core processor, full specs available here;
      http://ark.intel.com/products/53418/Intel-Celeron-Processor-…

The PC could easily output 1080p media, but if you need to render the data or make any changes I would suggest a higher CPU to avoid waiting for the machine to process. Playback = easy, modifications = more speed required.

      • +2

can we upgrade the processor to like an i3 or i5 or not compatible with this mobo?

    • +4

Celeron is just intel's term for "budget line" and refers to anything from decade old paperweights to the latest technology. G550 is a recent "sandy bridge" technology CPU.

Tom's hardware benchmarks put it on the same level for gaming performance as Core 2 Duo E8300 or Phenom II X2 565 BE, if that helps.

Are you talking about playing 1080p video files? can't see it having any trouble, if it does, put a $35 GPU (e.g.: ATI Radeon HD 6450 or Nvidia GT 520) in it.

      • +1

Yeah they are actually pretty decent, since they are Sandy Bridge, they're basically plain dual-core Core i3's with hyperthreading disabled (and a couple of other things disabled, like quicksync video). The lower end like the G5XX series have a slower bus (slower DDR3 RAM speed).

I've got a G860 in one of my machines at home (which is a 3Ghz dual-core one with the full 1333Mhz bus), and it is pretty quick!

  • +2

$22 shipping to Melbourne for those interested.

Throw in a SSD and this thing should fly with Win8 for light duties imo.

  • -1

Can i play diablo 3 on this?

    • Yes, but you'd want to spend at least $35 on a GPU (video card, e.g.: ATI Radeon HD 6450 or Nvidia GT 520)

      • +1

        Or a 2GB ATI HD7850 would do nicely…

  • -3

Meh, I'll hang on to my 5-year-old E6750 and P35 mobo thanks. Seriously, for this thing to be an "upgrade" for anyone you'd need to be running a Pentium 4 still.

  • +1

Its a better deal than those HP N40L's for media PC/home server

  • +1

MrZ. This machine is being sold as a basic, cheap computer not something to upgrade to.

Btw. I also have a [email protected] on a P35 board and i paid nearly $200 for the processor alone, way back when.

    • Well, maybe, just maybe, if someone still has a single core Celeron or Pentium (core-based) from a few years ago, this system would make sense. But seriously, who doesn't have an old Core 2 Duo lying around that they could use as a secondary "basic" PC?

  • +2

Great price but depressing to see how much the value of my existing PC hardware has fallen!

  • Sounds like a very capable machine for the money. If only i was in the market for one.
