  • I got a call too, but she said she doesnt know when the watch will be sent.

    • Didn't ask her when it will be sent. She had hard time understanding me asking for details on the colours. I gave up and looked it up online, seems like the selection matches with "sports band" so i picked one i dont mind. No black or white left so any colour doesnt make a lot difference.
I did confirm with her it is 47mm one though.

  • +1

received the same call as everyone else about the band color and found out that the call is for band only, they cannot confirm when they will deliver the watch. i was told it takes up to 50 days to fulfil the order. they did confirm that i am customer number 24x.

    • +1

Same here, I got the call today, regarding the selection of band colour, they also said, up to 50 days for delivery and don't know exactly when it will get shipped. I don't have any hope that it will ever get shipped, as this is all verbal, as there is no email confirmation about it.

      • I think these would be sent out soon, seeing that they called and provided selection based on what the current band stock…otherwise they wont bother

        • Intelligent

      • Same. Luckily I saved a chat transcript confirming I had won. It is the only shred of evidence of entering winning or anything to do with the promotion. Support on multiple occasions have also told me the competition did not exist even though they emailed me directly about it with the link to the form.

      • I got the call about band colour weeks back and after chasing it up this week, Samsung has called me to say I am not getting the watch they have previously said I was one of the lucky 500 winners of. Anyone else lied to by Samsung?

        • Haven't checked with Samsung. Any idea why?

          • @racingmiku: They said if i haven't got any confirmation via emails then I am not a winner. Also if the watch is not in my tax invoice on the Samsung store. This despite being confirmed a winner multiple time from Samsung chat and phone calls….

            • @jimmy c: I think whoever called you probably is not aware of this. None of the winners (who received the watches) had confirmation via emails as well. Still, they got the watches.
Perhaps call the customer retention team instead?

            • @jimmy c: I got the watch out of no where. Never receive any email or call.

              • @SR9: I have sent them the chat transcripts. Fingers crossed.

  • My partner got a call from a lady about this with a thick accent, she thought it was a scam when they asked for her details and decided to hang up on them lol :(
Now trying to call back and no one knows about this promotion.

    • +1

Ask them to transfer you to the customer retention team

      • I called them back, and the guy goes I need to fill a form only apricot and mint is available. I asked if you are referring to band colour. He goes I really don't know, all I can see is I need to choose one of these two colours for you.

    • You can edit and then unpublish the comment

      • Thank you. I wasn't sure before so best to be unpublished. Never done that before.

  • missed a call last week and heard on voice mail it's from Samsung, thought it's a scam and recevied another call two days ago saying I got the watch :)

mint, apricot and purple, slected mint but dont know when will get it, happy day :)

No written confirmation at all tho,

  • has anyone else got a tracking number pop up in AusPost? coming from Sydney

    • Nothing yet… what about you?

      • seems like they got a tracking number, nothing for me.

        • it was StarTrack, but turned out to be something else. false alarm

  • I still haven't got my trade in result back.. Been like 2 months since ordering…

  • anyone got any update after calls received from Samsung last week? re: Watch 6

    • +2

      Nothing here

    • +1

Easter has come and gone and still waiting.

      • +1

Still nothing…maybe we will get it for christmas

    • After Multiple confirmations from Samsung that I was one of the lucky 500 winners. Samsung has called me today and said I am not getting the watch 6 calssic. I highly suggest anyone who has not got their watch from the 24ultra pre order to chase this up. They are adamant despite multiple confirmations, and the phone call on what colour band i would like being made to me, Samsung now says that if i have no email confirmation by now that i am not getting a watch.

      • Thats utterly bullcrap, calling Samsung today to see what happen to mine

        • +1

I have called so many times, and keep getting the runaround from Samsung. I was told to call support and select #1 #3, but still no joy with staff. I keep getting sent to the "Promotions" team, who say they have nothing to do with this promo (but manage the Telstra free watch promo). I was told to email [email protected] but they responded that they can't help, "Unfortunately we deal with redemption promotions only and cannot assist with any other promotions, discounts, Samsung vouchers, returns or purchases made on Samsung.com.". They have suggested I should contact [email protected] instead.

Fingers crossed, but looking very unlikely, despite being an early purchase, siging the JotForm and getting a call about a watch strap colour in March

          • +1

@melamine: That's exact what I gone through with emailing.

To top it off, I am a platinum member with them and this is shockingly bad on how they run this promotion/communication. This is really Qantas level of customer service I am seeing.

            • +1

@moneytomyway: I called through again, initially got through to Technical Support (#1 #3 #4 "other issue). They tried to put me through to Promotions but I insisted they not do this. I was finally put through to the retention team who were able to look at my account and could see the call about the watch in early March and that I had requested "camel leather" watch strap. They put me on hold and transferred me to the after-sales team to query why it hadn't been sent out. The after-sales rep initially said I should have received an email with a redemption code and when I said I hadn't received this she insisted I had no way of knowing I was eligible for the free watch. She continued to say it would take 60-90 days from when I received the redemption email for it to be posted to me (that was if I was actually eligible). They then took some time to check if I was actually part of the 500 who first purchased the phone - she confirmed this, said that they had no way of viewing if the watches were sent out, and that I needed to way 60-90 days for it to be delivered. And that's how the call ended!!

Absolutely NUTS process - the onus is on me to somehow prove that I am one of the first 500? And if I can't prove it, then I'm not part of that group? And even though THEY called me to say I was part of the winning group, they still couldn't easily verify I was or not.

              Just too hard :(

              • +1

@melamine: I was asked to enter the redemption code, and it turned out that was for the Telstra promotion.
Seems like there's zero communication between departments.

Shocking how Samsung is handling this, I actually felt myself being discriminated against.

                • @moneytomyway: Called today, and they are starting to realise there are 2 promos in some departments. Seems they are learning. I am sure this promo was messed up somehow, as other https://samsung.jotform.com/ promos reveal a splash screen clearly stating 500 redemptions have been made when all watches are claimed (I screen grabbed it from another similar promo when my suspicions arose). The one for this was clearly ripped down and dysfunctional IMO. The lack of any email after filling in the form is a clear indication to me. I actually filled in the form 2 times because the lack of email response puzzled me. The 2nd time, it did say that my receipt number had already been redeemed.

                  • @jimmy c: There were 2 jotform promos. One for first 500. Not sure what the second one for… I think so far most who had received are those who selected sizes other than 47mm LTE. Only few reported here had received 47mm LTE.
Just wait and see i guess. It is hard to prove since none received emails including those who had received their watches.
I had previously asked in the chat (more than a month ago) and they confirmed that I had won the free watch… Also gotten the call but nothing since then.

              • @melamine: I called last night and was told the person with the first 500 buyer/Winner list has gone home. Called again today and another check showed that I was back on the list of first 500 winners but they have no idea when the watch will be sent. Almost 3 months and waiting. Still some hope though… 10 weeks ago I was told it could take up to 45 days. Nice of them to increase that to 90 days. It is the worst customer experience I think I have ever had for consumer goods.

                • @jimmy c: Thanks @jimmy c - sounds like exactly what they said to me. I feel they are quoting the wrong info though, as the wording for claiming a redemption (e.g. Telstra promo) takes 60-90 days from submitting the claim. We haven't submitted any claim (added details to JotForm). Not much else we can do but just wait and hope I guess. It'll be 90 days in a few weeks and I suspect nothing will have changed

                  • +2

@melamine: I got in touch with support again today, and received the following info (note I ordered on 19/01 and advised them of this):

Thanks for waiting, XXX. I was able to verify your order details, and you're one of the first 500 participants who won the Galaxy Watch freebie

Based on our back office team advice, the Galaxy Watch gift can take up to 60 to 90 days due to high volume of orders and offers.
The 60 to 90 days timeframe will start from the day your order was tagged as 'Delivered' or 'Completed' in our system. The order was tagged 'Completed' last 05/02.

Considering the order completion date, the latest gift delivery ETA would be May 05, 2024. Though it can still change depending on our logistics and warehouse team. Please keep your emails updated too.

                    • @melamine: Just checked my order on Samsung's website and it is still listed as "on the way" for the buds 2 pro, (part of the pre-order deal) despite a note on the order saying delivered on the 15/2/24. I have asked them multiple times to mark the buds 2 pro as delivered but it does not get done. Today I asked again in chat, and they said it takes 7-10 days to change the order to complete. So I guess I have another 7 - 10 days plus 60 to 90 days to wait for the watch if this new timeframe is true.
Despite this, they managed to fine me $60 for a $10 iPhone 7 trade in because I didn't's send it in the allotted 2 week window. All because I couldn't get an answer from Samsung on some kind of receipt or reply about the watch redemption that provided no proof of purchase, congratulations, email or notification of any kind. Seems just a little fraudulent to treat me this way and fine me 60 dollars for a 10 dollar value phone, but Samsung can leave us waiting over 3 months to fulfil their end of the deal.

                      • +1

@jimmy c: fyi @jimmy c -just received my free watch and strap (Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm)

                        • @melamine: Same here. 47mm lte classic. What an unnecessarily painful consumer experience though. Quite happy with the watch. Mine arrived with the tamper proof stickers in the box unused. Not sure if it was a display model or other but it seems fine to me.

      • +2

I got that follow up call and only just received the watch so there's hope…..

  • Had an email from Asurion saying my device has been misrepresented and they will give me $5.

It was a perfectly working phone with no damage that I traded in only because of this offer.

What a dodgy scam company. Just googled them and it seems to be common. Good luck everyone else.

    • it's a lottery at best. I traded in 3 phones so far, always got money back on time. but there's always that first time they fk you up

    • First time trading in. No issue with asurion. Made sure the phone was with its (old but in good condition) case, wrapped with 2 bubble wraps. And put inside small cardboard box. Took video of wrapping too just in case. All good

Quick Guide: Resolving Asurion Trade-Up Dispute via NSW Fair Trading

    1. Gather Required Documents:
      • Samsung Invoice or receipt (scanned copy)
      • Asurion Trade-Up email (scanned copy), including trade-in valuation, original device details, and IMEI.
      • AU Post Tracking number and their online Track a parcel confirmation of delivery (scanned screen print)

Details for Asurion required for completion and submission of e-complaint form:
    • Company Name: Asurion Pty Ltd
    • ABN: 18 155 388 275
    • Registered Address: ASURION AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED LEVEL 8, 342 FLINDERS STREET MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, 3000 Australia
    • Company email address: [email protected]
    • Website address: https://samsungtradeup.asurion.com.au/

    1. Draft a Brief Statement:
      • Summarize the issue with dates and amounts.
      • Sample Statement copy and paste: "Sent mobile to Asurion for trade-in valued at $X on [Insert Date]. Received by Asurion on [Insert Date], confirmed by AU Post Tracking number 123456. Asurion holds $X security amount despite having the device. Requesting refund."

    2. Contact NSW Fair Trading:
      • Visit the complaints section or use this link: https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/help-centre/online-tools/… for the e-complaint form.
      • Upload necessary documents and explain the problem clearly.

    3. Await Resolution:
      • NSW Fair Trading will mediate with Asurion, typically resolving within 7 to 10 business days. They have a direct company contact facilitating these cases.

    4. Additional Note:
      • Similar processes exist for residents in other states.
      • Once the complaint form has been submitted, there is no need for any further calls or online chats with Samsung Customer Support asking to raise tickets for chasing refunds.
      • Be mindful of Samsung Customer Support's limitations. Samsung staff do an excellent job but too often receive abuse from irate customers for things that are outside of their control. Treat them with the same level of respect you would expect if the roles were reversed.
      • Address Asurion directly for quicker resolution.

Using this streamlined process, it should take you no more than an hour to gather the necessary documentation and submit the online form.

    • Curious on how successful it is though.
As they do have T&Cs which you would have acknowledged for the condition of the phone.

Sounds like you may also need to provide some proof of working condition and the condition it was in when it you sent it out?

      • Sounds like their issue was with asurion not assessing the phone at all or even acknowledging that they received it. Which is different to a lot of others where asurion assessed it to be in a worse condition than what was originally stipulated.

        • +1

The above was based on my situation where Asurion was claiming they hadn't received the phone and kept sending me emails that they were going to charge me a late fee and/or keep the trade-in deposit whichever was most applicable.

After reading all of the Asurion "horror" stories on here and before sending my mobile to Asurion I took pictures of the mobile (front and back) on a white piece of paper where I wrote the current date in big numbers. I also took a picture of the mobile powered on with the post factory reset screen visible. However, I never sent these pictures as part of my NSW Fair Trading claim nor mentioned that I had them. I only used the documentation listed above. It would have been really interesting if Asurion had tried to lower the assessed value.

Anyway, within 7 business days, the phone had been located and the deposit was refunded into my account.

  • +2

Sent a perfectly working phone to Asurion and they have graded it as "Non Good Working Order" and will give me $1 instead of $135 after 7 weeks they have received my phone.

Managed to do a chargeback from my cc.

    • I have also done a charge back. We will see what happens next. Hopefully bank sides with me, these dodgy pricks.

  • Has anyone gotten their watches after the call?

    • Not yet unfortunately. There's a post above saying that someone called to check and they were told they were not eligible (despite confirmation previously in addition to getting the call). I'm not liking the chances!

      • +1

Not yet here either. After this debacle, I'll never do a Samsung Pre-Order again! First the late delivery of the phone, then this non existent watch promo. What BS!

        • When I spoke to them a while ago they mentioned that the timeframe was by the end of April, so there is still time. It does look like this is being done out of X department, which does not talk to Y department. Standard corporate

    • +1

Tried to call the retention team, customer support refused to transfer me and said she can handle this matter.
28 minutes later, she asked me to give it more time while confirming I am one of the winner.

Seems like there are 2 watch giveaways; 1 by Samsung and 1 by Telstra. And the agent has no clue about their own promotion.

    • +2

Don't believe them cos I just got the watch!!!!!

      • Lucky you, still nothing on my AusPost tracking

      • Which watch did you get in the end, the same one you entered for?

        • +1

          Yeah the classic 47 BT

      • nothing in my AusPost

did it show up in AusPost for you?

        • I got an sms from Auspost that morning say its coming today.

          • @auswill: When did you get it? I mean date please

            • @Ammarch99: On the date I posted. 9 April. Surprised nobody else has said they received yet.

              • @auswill: coz we haven't received it yet.

              • @auswill: My nephew received his watch two days ago.
He had received the missed call prior that everyone else got about what colour band he wanted but when he called back nobody knew anything about it.

                • @loulou1: Which colour band did he get? Wonder if they'll just send it with whatever colour they have the most of if they can't get a hold of you to choose.

                  • @CodeXD: He got the one he chose in his original submission

      • All I got was the call asking me about the colour of band that I want and then nothing else, I assume I am not getting anything since the people getting it are getting additional confirmation email/call right?

        • +2

No there was no additional email or call.

        • +2

For the jotform promo, even those who had received the watches didn't get any confirmation email.
Confirmation email is for those getting free watch from Telstra promo - afaik.

          • +2

@racingmiku: Feels like by the time we get this the watch 7 will have been released and it will be practically worthless, they surely aren't lacking stock judging by online availability

            • @houmousy: Still haven't been sent mine. It's corporate fraud!!!!!

              • +1

@jimmy c: Same here - waiting for watch for 2 orders.

They went into hibernation after confirming the band colour.

                • @Ash-Say: True, as of today, still nothing, maybe they're waiting for Watch 7 to be released, then send us the Watch 6.

                  • @kml22: Being a Platinum member, I can't get why there are a handful received theirs back in Feburary yet we are still stuck in a limbo in May.

    • Got another call today.

Can someone recommend a good gimbal for the S24 Ultra? There are so many out there with sketchy reviews, that I would love to hear back from people who have actually purchased one recently. Pref non DJI.

  • +1

Just got a call from Samsung to confirm my delivery address for the watch 6. He couldn't confirm the delivery timeframe.

Maybe this is just a pacify call lol hopefully it wasn't a scam and I gave them all my info.

    • Horray, hopefullly we will all get similar calls…

  • in the meantime feel free to slam Samsung for this hideous customer service business practice https://action.choice.com.au/page/148932/survey/1?utm_medium…

Check your Auspost accounts for any new tracking, guys.
Received one today, I suspect it to be the watch… Will see where it is sent out from (hopefully with next tracking status) to confirm. Fingers crossed!

    • Does it start with OFX?

      • Yes indeed. Seems to be by Startrack too…

        • I have the OFX one popped up just now too..! I hope it's the watch, not just the band, lol. Thanks for notifying!

          • @issachar: nothing yet… did you guys receive the phone call re: delivery address?

      • yes! I got one too! hopefully it's the real thing

    • My account has one. Fingers crossed!

    • Have one popped up too. fingers crossed

    • Oh! Got one also in my auspost account.
      "We've got it

    • It's popped up on my account too!
