It looks like these usually go for $35-ish, so a decent discount. I am not sure if these are good or not, but Klein tools seem to have a good reputation and are US made (not sure if that is a plus).Should be good for those RJ45 terminations.

  • Someone please compare against the Knipex

    • I just bought the Knipex last week (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/825747). These look like they may be a bit smaller and easier to use for precision work, but I am not sure.

reposting a tl;dr of my longer reply to RtN here in case you don't see it.

I prefer the knipex, as while the klein does have more of a thin tip on it, the knipex takes less force to close against spring pressure, and closes smoother, important when you're doing precision work. Overall size and shape is nearly identical.

I've bought both, bought these klein first for about $17 to replace the cheapo ones that came with my 3d printer, then bought these stainless knipex with lead catcher about a year ago as i found the klein was developing rust on the jaws when stored in my toolbox. Later regifted the stainless knipex in favour of a hardened steel one "with small additional facet also for hard wire cutting", and kept the klein inside for cleaning up 3d prints

I prefer the knipex, as it takes less force to close against the spring pressure, and closes smoother, important when you're doing precision work.

I feel the knipex is less slippery, they've both got a rubberised coating, but the knipex has additional ribbing as well as texturing whereas the klein is just textured. That flare on the klein handles is too close to the jaws for my taste, and does not work as a grip surface for me.

the klein has slightly pointier jaws, which might let you get into tighter spaces

Not sure the hardness of the klein, but i did put dents into the jaws while cutting 0.6 mm stainless tie wire (have not tried cutting that wire with the knipex either though)

The lead catcher/wire holder on the knipex works really well, any of these flush cutters have a habit of flinging the cut bits of wire all over the place, but the lead catcher firmly holds anything from vert fine wire to 5mm cable ties, and releases them when you re-open the jaws.

Overall, I would buy the knipex stainless super knips with lead catcher for $24 with prime

Good flush cutters but should be cheaper as I got them for $17.50

    • Damn, I think I paid like $35-$40 for these when I needed them a while ago.

I paid the same $17.50 but that was in 2022.

For that price, $10 more you are better with the cutter from Engineer: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B000TGJSWG?th=1
By far one of the best tools brands you can ever have, Japan Made, as solid quality as a tool can get.

Avoid these cheap tools that won't last.

    • I object to calling Klein Tools "cheap tools that won't last"

      • +1

You obviously have no idea about hand tools. Engineer are a reputable Japanese tool brand and on par if not better than Klein's. I'd go engineer over Klein any day.

      • Calling Engineer tools "unknown brand"?! wow
        Okay then.
