      Why?

      • +1

        Easy. They’re not thongs.

    • I don't mind them for the price, but not much stock around SA

      • +2

I'd rather get these, I am not a fan of open toe or thongs, that dreaded fold mid step and ur flat on ur face.

        • +2

          Old chewed up gum?

        • +4

          My goodness, those are hideous

        • Hard pass. The Rivers ones look horrendous.

        • -2

          @Bargains4lulz
My god… how old are you?

          • -1

@Jessie Ryder: What does age have to do with anything?
I showed a cheaper alternative and you flip your lid?
Someone should be questioning your age if anything.

            My god indeed.

    • are they like female sizing or male? cant tell their cat

      • +1

        That's male, I did the

        Home
        Men
        Mens Footwear
        Thongs & Slides

Then selected lowest to high $. You will see 2 diff non manly colors for $3

      • Why "like"?

    • +1

mate they don't even my size!

    • -2

      Sweat plus plastic clogs!

      Totally different to open-air thongs.

      "Horses to courses" suitability.

      • -2

Not plastic, don't sweat unless you're an Ogre.
I explained why open toed were bad, I gave an alternative for around the same $ but better value imo.

        See how that works?

        • -1

That is, of course, your opinion only

I haven't met an ogre but I have met normal humans mentioning/complaining about sweaty feet when encapsulated in such "plastic like" shoes.
          In and around the beach.
Probably not an issue in winter and in Tasmania.
          Or wearing socks.

If concerned about toe safety then use natural leather fully enclosed footwear. Or with a steel-toe feature.

          That's how it works.

          • -1

@LFO: Yes an opinion from actually using these.
            That's how that works.
Seeing I where these when I walk the dog, they're not

            "plastic like" shoes

They're croslite which would mean you know nothing on the subject.

Oh buh buh buh normal humangs complains, yeah ok.

I am sure people like you would wear socks with something like this.
As for open toe, yes everyone needs a steel capped boot to walk a dog right?

            See how anything works?
Let me help, that was rhetorical.

Here are some additional benefits of the Croslite material:

            Super light
            Slip-resistant
            Antimicrobial
            Insulating
            UV-resistant
            Recyclable

All from a plastic like shoe? LOL

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: Are you selling this "plastic like" footwear???

Very passionate and salesperson like knowledge.

              • -1

                @LFO: Your trolling is pathetic.
Simple Google finds answers and you're still butthurt.

                      2. you're still butthurt

                      That's two insults.
That frequently happens when wearing sweaty "plastic like" footwear: unable to discern written text.

  • +1

Did you actually get any instore or is this just an online price listing? I tried calling around the state to the low stock stores 4 weeks ago when they were still $12 and all were oos (tried for delivery), so my order just got cancelled. Mens and womens and multiple sizes.

Staff said they were from the black friday sales and sold out.

    Likely unobtainable?

    • +1

      Damn na'vi 😠

    • The website tells me the size 7/8 basic things are available at my local store.

      • Let us know how you go

    • I got a free C&C to an out of stock store because I couldn’t be bothered driving an extra 10 mins to an in stock store. In SA.

  • If you accidentally buy wrong size, you'll be paying return shipping cost on Catch, **** It.

    • -3

I bought from Rivers, 2 of 3 were UK sizing but 1 was US.
I was able to return in store and get the proper size.

  • -1

What’s refund policy like on one pass? Might just hop on the trail to get some

  • +19

    This deals a flop

    • I get ur humour. Have a +1

    • Better flip your ozbargain membership

    • Ohh I dunno, I might be able to buy a bunch and flip them on the open market 😂

  • +3

Never understood why these are so expensive normally. They look and feel pretty similar to the cheap ones at kmart.

Is it just a brand thing?

    • +2

They are supposed to be made from natural rubber as opposed to plastic or whatever the $2 ones are made of. Personally I prefer the $2 ones as they are softer to walk on. Used to think maybe the natural rubber is better at grounding, then my research says they are equally non-conductive. Would like to hear others’ opinions too.

      • +1

        rubber is a good insulator.

this comment made me curious. I've never thought of something like this before buying footwear.

Why would you want to be grounded/earthed? wouldn't that make you more likely to be fried by a lightning?

Just a curious question (Not mocking)

        • +4

I doubt a pair of Havianas will protect you from 300,000,000 volts but let us know if it does.

It’s a thing :) There’s a lot of products that do this but they tend to cost a bit, I’m just looking for cheap ways to do it. I tried one of those grounding mats at someone’s place, it literally feels like sitting on the ground on a rock and I quite like it.

If you are after the theory behind it, in TCM, there is a meridian point on the centre of our feet called bubbling springs (k1), which is the starting point of the kidney meridian that travels up to the kidney on either side. This is the channel the kidney uses to discharge waste energetically, and electricity travels when there is a potential difference. Earth is the infinite negative, most holistic practitioners would tell you to go walk on the grass on barefoot for this reason. There is a similar point between your sex and anus (perineum), hence grounding mat. You can ground any part of your body to achieve the same results really, because you have water running everywhere anyway, but those three points are the terminals so most efficient to ground.

@Alley Cat: Mr frugalftw, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

            • +2

@Blazeforward: I’m glad you react that way, because it means you have not have to personally deal with chronic pain that medical doctors have no way of treating. Enjoy it while it lasts 😘

    • +8

Havis used to be really good quality and last forever.

Somewhere I reckon around 10 years ago the quality absolutely nosedived and you'd be lucky to get a few months out of them.

      • -6

        This guy/gal/him/he/she/her/other/opposite/nopeepee/wantsapeepee/idontknow walks

      • Yep. They are terrible now. I'd never get Havaianas again. I buy all kinds of thongs, slides and slippers. Havis ever since about 2014 will last a maximum of a few months. Always break on the toe hold. Thats wearing them maybe a couple days a week. Whether I buy from Amazon US, locally or other online places. All the same quality - which is shit. Every cheap $2 thong is miles better quality than Havaianas

        • +1

I've only ever worn $2 thongs. Seems I'm not missing out on much. I always thought this brand was overrated and it seems the quality has nose-dived.

  • Are they any good?
Anyhow will know soon, bought it just to use the free onepass delivery :D

    • That's the way

    • Gotta make your money worth.

  • Not much stock

  • Ordered one thanks op :)

  • +1

Do they have any with an Australian flag on them?

    • +5

Nah, gotta go to Coles for that

      • +4

So sad Woolworths aren't stocking Chinese made Aus Day products this year.

        • Let’s hope they don’t stock any Chinese made rainbow flags either!

  • +2

ordered a navy blue one days ago and got cancelled today because they weren't able to source the stock…

  • +1

Are the sizes AU/UK or US?

  • +2

If $6 is a no brainer, how about $1.50

This is for men, also got another colour for women

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/everyday-thongs-s158333/?sk…

    • +2

Plastic v rubber. Not like for like.

    • +5

These $1.50 ones don't last long. I consider these more as disposable with how easily they come apart.

At $6, I actually think the Havaianas will last more than 4x as long, so I would still go the Havaianas on this one

      • +2

Yep I tried them once, there is a big difference.

      • +1

So about 4 days of wearing? Havaianas quality is quite terrible

        • +4

regardless of what your thoughts are on the havaianas quality.

When comparing these havaianas (at $6), with the kmart alternative (at $1.50), the havaianas are much better quality by comparison, and will easily last more than 4 times as long as the kmart.

Have tested both and can confirm this. With the kmart ones i'll be lucky if they last a week or 2. Havaianas i'll get probably 2 summers out of them, sometimes longer.

          • @whitepuma: Regardless of your experience, mine's the exact opposite. They always end up in the bin after a few weeks of wear because the strap between the toes snaps off. Never again.

            • +1

@brawndo: and what was your experience with the kmart $1.50 one?

              • @whitepuma: Zero experience. Wouldn't even bother. Neither are really worth the risk of having to hop your way home after one of the strap snaps while you're out.

At least if you're paying $1.50 for them you know what to expect.

                • @brawndo: That's what i'm saying, i'm basing my comparison of quality with the $1.50 one. You haven't tried them so you have nothing to compare it to for Langitbiru's suggestion of the $1.50 alternative.

Havaianas and any shoes last different period of times based on use. Obviously if my havaianas are lasting 2 or more summers, whilst yours are only lasting a few weeks then you are bringing yours to much harsher use than mine. But without also comparing your same use with the $1.50 ones you won't know if the havaianas are worth the 4x price.

To clarify, i'm not saying havaianas are good or bad quality in general, i'm talking purely about the comparison in quality with the $1.50 alternative.

                  • @whitepuma: I bought 3 Kmart $1 thongs on March 2022 online and it's still ok now - used most indoor half most of the time, do not use them to beach yet. I did buy the Havainas today though just to try them out.

                    • @foxmulder: aha your usage must be much lighter than mine, or you must weigh a lot less than me (not surprising)

                    • @foxmulder:

                      I bought 3 Kmart $1 thongs ……

Do you keep the 3rd one as a spare?

                  • @whitepuma: Yeah so you're just comparing crap with crap that is x4 the cost.

Each to their own, I would much prefer taking my chances with 4 pairs of Kmart thongs based on my experience.

                    • @brawndo: This is all a response to langitbiru's suggestion. Call it want, comparing crap with crap, or whatever helps you sleep at night, this is a response to their comment and comparing the 2 products they raised, not a comparison to the entire flip flop market.

I would much prefer taking my chances with 4 pairs of Kmart thongs based on my experience.

you literally said you have tried havaianas and have never tried the kmart thongs, clearly you have shown what you would take your chances with…

                      • @whitepuma: No idea what your point is. I'd take my chances with unknown Kmart thongs rather than the known crap that is Havaianas thongs if I had to choose between the two.

Never brought other flip flops into the discussion so really don't know what you're arguing about.

          • @whitepuma: Try Kmart's $3 Anko thongs. Still ridiculously cheap, but far better quality than the $1.50 ones. AND made from "recycled materials" (whoot).

I'm through with Havianas after being plugged yet again. Only had this pair 1 year and they were lightly worn. Pathetic. If I don't get at least 2-3 years out of the Ankos I'll be surprised.

            • @rossnroller: Currently running with the Anko double plugs ($6), seem quite good.

Was contemplating Boomerangz, with free replacement straps for life (and comes with one spare to begin with) could be good for a number of years.

Shame they're so expensive though ($40 + Shipping), keeping an eye out for a sale.

            • +1

@rossnroller: I'll consider that, next time i'm at kmart i'll check them out.

        • +3

Rubbish. I wear these Hav's every day after work and the pair I wear currently, I bought over a year or two ago.

      • Fine if used and no UV

    • +2

Hard pass, not close to the same quality.

  • $1 more than last time the inflation is real :p

  • Order placed! Thank you :)

  • +1

Navy size 11/12 showing out of stock online. I'll have to go barefoot a little longer.

  • Brought 2 thanks OP - finally got something out of one Pass

  • How much for the other one?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought 365, one for every day.

    • +1

Thats how often they break, so you'll need a new one for every day!

  • +3

does anyone remember when these first came out and cost like 50 bucks?

  • Finally these over expensive thongs are at the price they should have been at in the first place.

    Genius marketing

  • these never fit me W 7/8 is too small, 9/10 is too large

    • Buy the bigger ones & cut them to fit.
