  • I assume new solar systems only? Wouldn’t apply to upgrades?

    • What’s an upgrade?

If you have a old system isn’t it a case of ripping off the old and slapping on the new?

    • Yes it would apply to upgrades/additions to current systems.

    • Hi,

This deal is specifically for new systems only, however, Pristine Solar also do removal of existing systems, as well as upgrades. Please email us for more information.

Don't use these guys. Still waiting on them to fix issues with my install over 2 years ago. Dozens of emails, calls, texts.. time and time again told it would be fixed 'next week' etc. Was patiently waiting this whole time, hoping they would do the right thing. Now just stopped responding all together. They don't care.

If that’s the case, Smash that neg vote

      • +4

@PristineSolar would be interested in your response to this - if you are wanting business on here, then as I am sure you already know - brand reputation from the existing OZB community is valuable. I hope you can come to a satisfactorily resolution with the person involved.

@Brandollar keep us updated - IMO I am not sure if neg votes would help your case, rather concern and support from the OZB community to have your voice heard by the company and issue resolved (hopefully).

What were the issues? Please share with us if you dont mind.

        • +7

@db2k Sure thing, more than happy to ammend any comment(s)/feedback based on any potential resolution they can provide. I've tried everything to work through this with them.

For starters, my conduit on my roof has come apart, and is open to the weather/elements. Rain is getting into the conduit and onto the solar panel electrical cabling. If it runs down the conduit into the inverter.. who knows what will happen. A team member from a unrelated company installing some equipment on the roof also noted this conduit issue and commented that Pristine should fix this ASAP as it's a hazard.

Also, one of my panel sections is running at a lower efficiency, potentially a dead panel or something not quite right. This has been like this for years, reducing my solar generation. Again, they were going to check this and hopefully resolve it at the same time as the conduit, but alas.. no response.

Furthermore, Pristine on multiple occasions asked me to source my own third party Solar Panel company, who wasn't them, and ask them to fix it, with the promise they would pay the bill. Basically sending me out to do the work, and source someone who was willing to repair. I was deserpate for a resolution, so I tried my best, calling and emailing over 6 different local solar companies, all of which refused to repair it or touch the system. I believe there's some kind of rules around if you repair others work you can become liable etc, and none were willing to take the risk. So again, I went back to Pristine, and again they said they would try repair it themselves.

Also partially answering @Gowrie29 comment below - Yes, they hire third party installers, and in this case, the original installer wasn't responding to them, so their response was 'well he isn't responding so..'. They even gave me the guys email and phone number and told me multiple times to call their installer as they weren't responding to them.. again sending me out to be the middle man..

Once again I begged that they please just send someone out themselves to have it resolved, and again they said they would.. but here we are. My last emails, texts and calls all have all gone unresponded, with my last response from them being on the 19th of July 2023 via email saying they would resolve it as soon as possible. I've sent 3 emails since, dated 10/10/2023, 30/10/2023 and 14/11/2023. I've also texted & called during these times.

@Brandollar: Sorry to hear. That sounds so frustrating :(

          • @Brandollar: Why is it you only put a google review an hour ago if it's going on for ages? Is it because this deal reminded you to put in a review? Surely after some time of chasing up, you got the message they were never going to remedy, a review and complaints to industry body should have been done then.

            • +1

@nwa: @nwa I actually already put a Google Review previously (google 'pristine solar' and check reviews there), but it seems they changed their google profile and linked a different review link on OzBargain. I tried for 2+ years to give them a chance to resolve it before doing any kind of review, as I don't like to leave negative reviews, but the intentional ignoring now showed they didn't care. Industry body complaint & more will be next if no luck here.

              • @Brandollar: You have extreme patience. My experience has been it only takes a few months or a handful of interactions to gauge if someone is giving me the run around.

    • Thanks for sharing

      Prompt after sales support

      So that was a lie.

    • Hi Brandon,

I appreciate what you have said; however, there are always two sides to the story.

1.) We worked very hard on this installation (not a standard installation) as the house was being nominated for an architecture competition, our installers went above and beyond to ensure that the requirements of the client were met, including the positioning of the inverter and the placement of tilts on panels. We were very fair in our pricing and charged very fair rates for a lot of the extras for this job - additional wiring, additional tilts, distance from Melbourne etc.
2.) Work was done on the conduit (painting the conduit black) by either the client or a third-party vendor after our installer had left the job; that is, work was completed on the roof after we had left. Once again, this is not standard procedure, and violates warranty agreements with both an installer as well as the manufacturer.
3.) For initial requests raised by the client, our installer had gone back and inspected and found no issues. In good faith, we had been back to the site and did not charge the customer a call-out fee.
4.) The customer raised more issues, including the conduit being exposed. However, work was conducted on the conduit after our installer had been back to the site twice (once to install and once more to inspect). At this point, our installer had even raised a request for an inverter replacement - but voided due to breach of manufacturer warranty.
5.) This customer is located in a rural area; hence, we even offered the customer an option to get a local electrician to inspect (to find any issues in the first place so that a scope of work can be provided to my installer - rather than self diagnosis from the customer). Traveling for a third time to a rural area when we have not even been made aware by an electrician what the issue was seemed impractical. We were happy to compensate all works fully had there been any fault of ours, which the customer could give us in writing, as we made the customer aware.

I can assure all of you that no company puts in the time and effort to provide as many solutions as we did. However, we are still happy to work on a solution with the client. If you look through our OZB posts, we have over 19 posts and have completed hundreds of installations for OZB customers. Many can vouch for us, and many have left positive reviews on our Google and Solar Quotes review pages. Please take the time to read through our previous OZBargain posts as well. We are met with many positive reviews.

Furthermore, we would like to address that the two separate Google pages are our Queensland and Victoria pages - not two separate businesses. However, we are having difficulties merging the two profiles (tried multiple times through Google to no avail).

Happy to answer any questions, and apologies for the late response. Sometimes monitoring on a Friday evening can be a little difficult.

        Hi Pristine,

        1) I have no doubt you worked hard on the install originally, however I was charged a bit extra for the additional conduit etc. I didn't have any issues regarding cost.
        2) The conduit was painted black after the conduit join issue was noted. I'm not sure how running a paint brush along it would cause brackets to be missaligned and cause the joins to separate. You also never raised this as a concern. Furthermore, it was a team member from Pristine Solar that actually suggested I paint it to help hide the appearance of the conduit in the first place?! Where was I informed doing this would void any sort of warranty, and why would your team member suggest I do this if this is the case? This is the FIRST I am hearing of any voided warranties - and seems a direct opposite of everything that has been discussed to this day, as some sort of defense against my complaint - which is simply, that you have not responded after saying numerous times you would fix the issues.
        3) The installer came out in June of 2021 and rejoined the conduit, but again it came apart - which I raised with you as soon as I noticed it. I believe they simply pushed it back together but didn't actually adjust the brackets/tension that's causing it to be pulled apart. You said you would send them back out to fix properly.
        4) I never had an issue with conduit being exposed? Nor did I mention that here. In fact, you mentioned the additional conduit and placement of it being exposed as there is no roof space access, and I agreed to this with initial install, and paid a bit extra for it. Again, no complaint with the conduit placement itself. Again, this is the FIRST I am hearing of any voided warranty on an inverter also? what the !? Your now trying to void my warranty because I'm simply asking you to fix your issues in a public space, after you privately delayed and now ignored me for years?
        5) Yes, as mentioned, I did try to organise a third party company to fix it, but no one was able to - I'm still unsure how this is still somehow being twisted as my fault?

        • +2

It's good to get both sides of the story. But the installer side of story seems weak. A lot of hype over going above and beyond and doing a favour when it was a contract and they got paid extra. And no detail on substance and response to issues and questions.

-No mention of how painting a pipe voids warranty
-No followup on if they cannot find local election to go out there and fix it themselves.
-No response to why not just tell the customer we are not fixing why still leave them in hope this will be fixed?

          • +2

@nwa: Just a quick positive update.. Now working with Pristine Solar directly to have it all resolved, they have committed to fixing it all and confirmed warranty still in tact. Positive outcome in the near future hopefully :)

            • @Brandollar: That's good to hear, they have crunched the numbers and concluded it's better to fix you up rather than suffer more bad publicity.

            • +1

@Brandollar: @Brandollar Glad my initial suggestion has achieved you the desired outcome.

@Pristine Solar well done on assisting your customer, think of this as an investment!

And most importantly, @nwa … or is it N.W.A??? 🤔🧐🧐🧐🧐

A previous deal had someone query the use of contractors to install.

    No reply from the company.

    • -1

      Hi Gowrie29,

In the same previous deal, there are many customers who endorsed us - having had installaitons done by us. Unfair to pick just one comment out of 50 odd comments in the post.

We have always made it clear that we use CEC accredited Installers to Subcontract. However, our installers have worked with us for over 5 years, and we do not cherry pick an installer for each job.

Subcontractors used for installations is the norm in the industry. However, we take pride in the installers that install for Pristine Solar.

Don't get black panels, less efficient and more prone to heating up.

To be promoting these over others indicates the companys approach.

    Do research before buying!

    • +1

      Hi Headless,

I believe this comment is a little unfair. Black panels are considered premium in the market and are selected by a lot of clients as the are more "aesthetic". All the panel manufacturers offer black panels as the premium panel in their range. However, if black panels are not preferred by any client - which in our experience is almost never, we are happy to install standard panels as well.

      Regards

      • I work in a big energy company in solar & home electrification design. I can confirm black is considered premium & most aesthetically pleasing; so much so in my company we only stock & install black frame panels.
