I’ve previously used Nulon’s old formula for a Ute engine that had over a quarter million KM on it and found the oil to be brilliant. I was skeptical about the claims it helped to reduce leakage but was very pleasantly surprised to see that it did exactly what the label promised. My current Ute is reaching 200K so I’m going to try the new formula to see if it’s as good.

Sparesbox has the best price around (Autobarn is next at $40.99), if you have eBay Plus use the code TOP6JAN to take another $2.10 off.

Is 200k considers high kms now? My engine is running at 188k still with 5w40, what kind of engine should use these 20w50?

    • If it’s not leaking and still in good shape then you’re probably best to carry on as you are. See my other comment below.

  • I'm generally partial to thicker oils but 200k is not high km for some vehicles.
    What ute are you driving?

    • 2005 Rodeo. It’s an ex-tradie’s utility with only a 2.4L petrol engine, so for most of its life it will have been working hard with big loads. I’ve had replaced what seals are easily reached short of a full teardown but it’s just starting to seep a bit of oil. My previous Ute was an ‘89 Rodeo that came off a farm, and which hadn’t been looked after much in it’s last years before I got it, and it leaked like a sieve. I had most seals replaced on that one and it still dripped like a runny nose, but after switching to the High KM oil that noticeably lessened by quite a bit. I was using the full mineral formula that came in a yellow bottle, but I think Nulon no longer make it.

      • Ah fair enough then! Good to hear you have had a good experience with the high mileage oils
