  • Missed Boost deals recently, what should I pick:
Amaysim (Optus) 210GB for $165 or one of these (Vodafone)
    What has less shitty coverage?
(I actually have been on both but Voda 6y ago and Optus 2y ago, both were shit)

Amaysim. Lebara's customer service is below 0. Call drop is very normal.

    • +1

Optus coverage is better than Vodafone

    • +3

Voda website still has $150 240GB for 365 days, better than Lebara.

      • Wow, 240Gb for $150 is the best value

      • And with Vodafone directly you get 5G where available (on all Vodafone branded prepaid services).

      • Just had a look at their Critical Information Summary sheet. It doesn't work for me, even with better access to 5G network (compared to Lebara), because I'm getting it for my high school kid who and Lebara staggers the data usage, whereas Voda's plan does not. So he'll likely CHEW through the 240GB before the year had ended!

    • Boost 192$ here I Was able to pricematch two at OW

With 5% off and 5% NRMA gift card comes down to $173.28 plus Flybuys

But NRMA gift cards not accepted via phone, have to go to store and add card to digital wallet

      • They jacked the price.

        • Yes but with OW pricematch it is still worth it. Pricematch possible because it does not require any promo codes.

      • I was not able to pricemath in OW in 2 different stores :(

        • Sorry to hear that, maybe try via phone? 1300office

  • Can it be stacked on existing long expiry plan ?

    • I highly doubt it. Checked via chat, for existing customer the only option is to recharge. They didn't know any discount for existing customer.

After couple of years with Lebara I think it is time for me to part away as well. I have already moved one connection to Vodafone yesterday and will move another prepaid to Amaysim likely next week.

      • +2

        Lebara is owned by Vodafone

        • Different support service and different plan offerings though.

  • I feel like this is the beginning of shrinkflation with sims. No more 365 days… it'll be 360, then 350, etc until we are back to monthly.

    • +2

Lebara has alway been 360 for years, just like others do 28 days for ages.

  • +1

    Their support sucks unsurprisingly

  • +3

Splitting it into monthly data allowances is pointless and defeats the purpose and flexibility of a 365 day plan.

  • +1

Lebara if not for their cheap plan has one of the most atrocious customer service. They will call you and later deny they ever offered that. Then to caught later by an email sent by another department which shows either they were lying or their management is in a total shambled. Couldn’t keep their promise even after complained to TIO.

  • +1

+1 on the bad customer service. I ordered their eSIM service for $199 and got all the emails. Except the main email that was supposed to include the QR code was broken - the QR code had a broken link icon instead of the QR itself. Spent over an hour waiting for their support and can't resolve because their activation team finished already by 5:30pm. Their staff doesn't know how to fix this issue and have escalated it to their team tomorrow to resend a QR apparently.

Argh.. so fustrating.. Maybe should have got the Vodafone deal instead.
