Roborock S7 Max Ultra Robotic Vacuum $1699.99 Delivered (Was $1999.99) @ Costco (Membership Required)

540

Roborock S7 Max Ultra robot vacuum & mop with auto-empty, auto mop washing, auto mop drying.

This is the Max Ultra Model. The comparison to MaxV Ultra are:

  • Slightly higher 5500Pa suction (5100Pa for MaxV) although it is unlikely to make any practical difference.

  • Mop drying function included rather than an add-on module in MaxV

  • 350ml built-in dust bin a little bit less than 400ml in MaxV

How does this compare to the $85 robovac which I can also afford?

    • +12

      They both suck?

    • +2

      this one is better

    • +1

What you pay is what you get

    • If they could charge $1700 instead of $85 they would. Price is what you pay, value is what you get

    • +1

Most of the cheaper models use a "ping pong" effect. They bounce around hitting into different objects before changing trajectory. Hopefully after a while they cover most of the area.

Higher end models use lidar or cameras to map out the area and clean it in order.

The one you linked to says it does uses an "effective zig zag route", but I don't see any sensors on it.

This one also mops, which the cheaper one doesn't.

Bunch of other differences, but the biggest I see is that this one has available spare parts. The one you linked has listings, but all unavailable. Not sure whether or not this is temporary or long term (no price history on CCC).

This one raises your children too. It's a no-brainer.

      • +2

        To clean underneath them? :)

    • You pay peanut you get monkey

      • Hey , dont insult monkeys !

  • +8

New Revo ones were just announced during CES so price may drop further for older models. Or the newer ones might fit your needs better

    • +4

      as well as S8 MaxV

  • This had been on sale from Costco for $1,599 before, not sure with the annoucement of the Q Revo Pro, Q Revo MaxV and S8 MaxV how this price could be a deal :)

  • +4

Also no camera on the S7 Max Ultra (only MaxV Ultra)

    • +2

How are the CCP supposed to receive my candid nudes then :(

      • They will be bored, there is no built-in mic …

      • What you pay is what they get

      • are your candid nudes with minors? can they be used to blackmail politicians like the Epstein ones?

I've had this for 2 months now. It's been good the house feels a lot cleaner in between cleans. The only downside compared to maxv ultra is that you can't buy a plumbed in attachment

    • Oh wow, how much water does this thing use?

      • I think s/he means that if it was plumbed, you wouldnt need to ever fill the auto-fill station every couple of days. Otherwise the amount of water it uses depends on the size of the room and the water level setting you use for each clean.

        • Nor empty the dirty water tank.

I'm wondering if it works for both tiles and carpet or tiles only?

I never thought of buying one before because I thought they only worked well on tiles. Recently I browsed some products and found that few of them mentioned this in their specs, which I think is confusing.

    • -7

      does both
but FYI they are not a wet vac.
So it will do a round of vac first then go do a mop afterwards

      • +3

no. they do them at the same time vac and mop.

      • +2

This is not true. The S7 MaxV can vac and mop at the same time.

    • +1

This has the VibraRIse function which means it can do tiles and low pile carpets in one run. For high pile carpets and rugs, just set no go zone on the app.

      • And use a manual vac?

        • You can manually remove the mop and get it to go over the high pile rugs and carpet if you want but i find that no vacuum with a brush role (manual or robot) will work well.

      • How high is too high for a rug?

        • this robot can lift the wet mop pad 5mm off the ground. so i would say around that.

  • Does it require regular replacement of cleaning brushes and cleaning solutions? I found some of these cleaning robots have very high ongoing costs.

    • There are no cleaning brushes on the robot. The 'brushes' are all silicon, so they will last a long time. There are cleaning brushes on the home base to clean the mop. Only recommended to use water with this robot.

      • +2

You can use Roborock Omo Floor Cleaning Solution for All Roborock Robot Mops

        • Yeah but its like 99.5% water anyway with a tiny bit of ionic solution.

          • +2

@mrvaluepack: Probably more than 99.5% water because the formula is already 98% water and Roborock recommends to dilut 1:300

            • @CuriOZ: Lol yeah, i have leftover bissell cleaning solution from my old spinwave robot and honestly i only use it because of the fragrance.

            • +3

              @CuriOZ: Lmao… like a homeopathic cleaning solution.

    • It's recommended, I purchased all replacement parts, 2 of each for something like $30 from Amazon. After almost a year of use we replaced them all and still have one set of all parts left, and the machine is still running perfectly.

  • +6

Hands down one of the best purchases I ever made.

    • +1

Same for me, such a time saver and keeps the house really clean. Recommended it to family that also got one and they love it also. We got the MaxV version though.

    • Same! Nighly mopping and vacuming of the areas that get the dirtiest (esp kitchen and hallway).

      Floorboards are glistening.

    • How's the mopping performance?

I don't mind vacuuming, but really hate mopping.

If this thing can vacuum and mop while I watch a movie and have a clean floor at the end of it, then it's worth its money in gold.

      • +1

Its pretty good! We're quite happy with it. It can't loosen/remove stubborn things like food that's squished and dried onto the surface.

Having said that, I do mop the floors once a fortnight manually - thanks to having a dog and a crawling baby.

  • +2

    Pretty Happy with the robot

My only tip is to add a bit of vinegar into the dirty water tank after you clean it. It reduces the smell build up.

  • Looking to get something like this, maybe s8 pro ultra or l10s ultra. Anyone have an idea of how big a deal is the lack of 'reactive AI' in this non maxV model?

  • -1

Can anybody compare this to the Dreame Z10 Pro. I've been extremely disappointed with the Z10 Pro (it never succeeds when it tries to empty into the dock, leaving the dustbin full). I almost bought the MaxV Ultra at the time but the >$2000 price point made it exorbitant.

If people (esp with pets) can confirm this does a more reliable job of emptying into the dock, this might be the deal for me…

    • If you have pets set the vacuum to do more often, no matter how good the vacuum if it's to full it will have difficulty cleaning it.. If I have pets I will even disable the auto empty function to save money on bag..

      • +1

        It runs twice a day.

  • I just want a bot that can do both carpet and hard floors. Would this be suitable?

I have one of these but it struggles on the carpets: https://www.harrisscarfe.com.au/electrical/vacuums/la-vacuum…

Completely different price point, I know.

    • +1

i've got my eye on the lubluelu which seems to be the bang for buck at the moment. bundle it with the docking station you're looking at a robotic vacuum with lidar, mopping, auto emptying for about $400 when it goes on discount which seems to be very good value.
but not sure how it compares to a roborock?

      • +1

Use code lubluelu20 for 20% off if that helps!

Which one were you specifically looking at?

        • for the lubluelu -> SL60D which has slightly worse battery life but comes with two brushes, glass finish rather than plastic which the SL61 comes with.

on the roborock side maybe the Q revo or S7 pro max ultra whatever it's called but really leaning towards lubluelu.

not really looking for anything mid range since the lubluelu apparently rivals those anyway.

while googling i did come across the honiture g20 which seems to be rated better than the lubluelu sl60d, even though it doesn't use LiDAR, not sure if that is available here.

Just saw this yesterday at costco marsden park for $1599. Backed out cos no heating after the pads have been washed and it only has 1 sweeper brush. I think better wait for a deal on the q revo.

    • Spec actually mentions warm air drying

    • +1

Thanks for the info. It looks like the NSW stores have this on sale 100$ cheaper than Costco website. Just went to the crossroads one and got one for 1599$.

Bought S7 Max Ultra at $1600 during Costco's black Friday sale, also Ecovacs X2 a month earlier:
    * Overall Roborock is slightly better vs. Ecovacs from a cleaning point of view (mostly floor boards, tiles and some rugs, no pets)
    * It uses about 2/3 of the water tank for mopping (~90 sqm2)
    * Hasn't got stuck once, unlike multiple times with X2
    * App is more responsive (having to restart the app a few times with Ecovacs). App is more intuitive eg. with mapping rooms, setting up virtual walls etc
    * Each vacuum bag can last 4+ weeks, depending how dirty the house is
    * Cheap accessories (compatibles) available from aliexpress, temu etc
    * Cleaning (vac + map) is slightly quicker (~100 mins for 90 sqm2 vs ~100 mins for 75 sqm2 for X2)
    * No cleaning solution is really needed, water works fine
    * No gimmicks such as cameras for live stream or "AI"

Overall, really a solid choice, I would rate it higher than the X2

  • Anyone has any idea when we will see Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra in Australia market?

    • Probably around May 2024. The S8 Pro Ultra was announced at the similar time last year and was released in Australia in May 2023

  • Does the docking station require dust bags? If so, how much do they cost and how often they must be replaced?

    • +2

Yes, they last quite a few weeks. Buy from your fav shopping sites for genuine/generic bags

    • +2

Yes, I got 8 from AliExpress for $11.

  • Guess I will never be able to replace the battery on these S7 or S8?

  • Has anyone used it by manually pressing for it to clean and avoid cloud set up.
I would assume it just doesn't know floor plan and object/obstacle detects each time.

  • How does this compare to dreame L10s ultra?

  • I am looking for the best for vacuuming carpet only but need self emptying and resuming. Any recommendations? Oh… if it doesn't tangle up hair in the brushes that would be A+. Household with pets. Should have lidar + object detection.

  • Hi All,

Just a question as a non costco member. when a non costco member browse the costco website does it show all the products that costco sell or only show limited items?

or does the costco website requires member log on to view the full range of products costco sells?

I hope i am clear enough on what i want to ask.

    Thank you.

  • been using for 15 months , great vaccuum , mapping and all works fine

  • Any tips on this or keep waiting for S8 ultra to drop below $2k? I'm doing quite a bit of research and getting mixed opinions as you would online & not sure what to do. Highly appreciate any expert opinions here.

  • Is not it better \to wait for S8 MaxV ultra? It has more cool features such as vibrations cleaning which help alot for homes that has carpet plus it has corner edge cleaning capability.

  • How about cat toys on the floor? Can be handle avoiding those?

  • Still available for 1699 in store..
