Great laptop according to the reviews!
Has a 75Wh battery, Windows Hello, 780M GPU, 400nits of brightness, etc

US$797.27

According to the add, this includes GST, but I'm not 100% sure whether that's true, so caveat emptor.

AENY50 is already fully used up
Sorry, these coupon codes have already been claimed. However, you can still enjoy other great deals on AliExpress.

  • hows the warranty on this? being covered by lenovo au?

    • Base on listing description, AliExpress seller will provide 1 year warranty so no Lenovo AU warranty. Also from my experience, any laptop purchase from China will come with China Windows license key. Even though you can change the language to English it will be not 100% and update will follow from China server. Had to re-install western Windows on my Xiaomi laptop before.

      • As you should anyway, I wouldn't trust any OEM install of Windows

This one include gst but arent we gonna need to pay like 10% import tax when this is delivered cause the order is more than 1000 aud?

    • Platforms like Aliexpress got that covered already for even items under $1000. try add something like $5 to your cart and you still pay 10% GST during check out process.

      • I'm talking about import tax for order more than 1000 Aud, not GST as those are included already.

        • There won't be any really….China–Australia Free Trade Agreement includes laptops….

          • @Gizardry: I try really hard to research for what happen when we order those stuffs more than 1000 Aud through Aliexpress but havent found any clue so far. All i see is that anything more than 1000 Aud we're expected to pay import tax.

  • Any decent laptops for ~$600-700 for very basic tasks?

    • A used MacBook Pro does the job well and 3 years later you still got half of its value when resell

      • Just try and find an M1 MacBook, the Intel ones don't hold as much value anymore (and are worse)

        • +1

That's Apple's marketing Myth. Intel is the most compatible/stable & we have 9-year Gen 6 processors that still work great & support 3x 4K monitors on my i5-6600K without graphics card, silent configuration on Asus H170 Pro Gaming (not gamer but excellent design/connectivity).

          • +1

@taki: That's not marketing, Intel MacBooks, at least those released semi recently, sucked. Poor battery life, poor thermals, etc. No idea why you're bringing PC hardware into this.

      • +1

Buy high to sell low……why? "Basic task" laptop is like a 9th or 10th gen i5 on Ebay for ~$300 and even then I consider them quite powerful for the tasks.

    • Acer Nitro 5 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop, i5-11300H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX 1650 was great value & cheap RAM + M.2 + SSD upgrades for $699 refurb/as new.($735) - I don't play games, but I like larger screens + 2x 4K monitors. Much more than basic & 6 years later you still have great value :)

  • Is this equivalent to Ideapad pro 5 ?

  • Says Thunderbolt 4 but… It's an AMD, no? Or have things changed since 1999 when I last purchased a device?

    • AMD 7840HS should support USB4 but that depends on Manufactures and Different models.

    • Maybe just a bit…..

    • My GPD Win Max 2 is a 7840U and has a thundebolt 4 port

    • +4

In my knowledge it is USB 4 not TB4, but you can see it as the same for normal usage except USB4 doesn't guarantee PD charging.

Wow…a Lenovo tablet on AliExpress literally telling you to 'be careful'.
    Xiaoxin

    • +1

Thats not what it means. My ex bf always says xiaoxin before we elope and I'm certain he's praising my vigour.

      • +1

Can also mean be gentle, don't exert yourself (don't break me) so WTG stud.
The only alternative is filial piety, but I don't see how talking about honouring one's mum or da….oh. That one kinda works too.

        • +1

oh, so when he says xiaoxin i should have went slower rather than faster and harder? awkward…

dont do it guys I wouldn’t spend more than $50 on aliexpress, it is well known that 90% of products are fake, 50% of sellers are scammers and the chances of you buying a legit product are asymptotically approaching 0. Sellers often don’t even send the product or send you boxes of burritos, it might be months until you get it, they often ship via boats and some disgruntled sailor could simply throw your package overboard. By the time your package arrives in Australia it has to battle with kangaroos, crocodiles and box jelly fish. Also as you know reptilian overlords control our world and if you go over that $50 they will be well displeased. it will promptly be raining fire and brimstone, the aliens will invade and it will be the end of civilization as we know it. Now think to yourself is a communist laptop really worth all this trouble?

    • Yes, cause FOMO.

  • Err…

If it was ~40cm screen I would be interested

  • Did anyone order? If so did you get any tracking number?

    • All good. Arrived today and have to say. For the price its a pretty amaing piece of gear

        • I didn't pay any additional taxes

    • +1

Got mine today. Pretty decent for the price, yet to test any games etc on it, also got a mousepad which was cool.

@bonbon I did not pay any additional tax.

      • Thanks

  • For those who purchased, what's your verdict so far?

  • I'm curious too - not quite as cheap but I'm thinking of the 16 inch version from here for about $1420

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006366831253.html?pdp_np…

Hard to get same spec from Lenovo AU website - keep being forced to upgrade/add things I don't need.

    • I was looking at the same thing, and cost around $2k for getting the same specs.

Keen to find out how the Chinese version work out for others

      • Got mine too absolutely awesome laptop - windows home in english as well as bios- wouldn't even know it was a Chinese laptop. Find me similar specs below 1800 in aust….

        • Nope i can't find anything below $2k for the 16' version.
How long did it takes to deliver to you and did they provide any tax invoice?

          • @siegfried: Keen to know if they provide tax invoice too, I think they have to as they charge gst for this, I'll ask
