[PC, Steam] Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition $11.73 (90% off) @ Steam

310

Not the cheapest it has been (by some cents), but still a good price for those who have not purchased the game yet. It is slightly cheaper on Humble Bumble for $11.65 if you'd like to purchase from there.

Thanks to aragornelessar for finding a cheaper deal, check his comment below.

Or it's AUD $8.27 at GameBillet - https://www.gamebillet.com/assetto-corsa-ultimate-edition-ne…

I'm trying gamebillet but it says "no stock". So unless I'm doing something wrong, I think it may have sold out quickly!

Is this worth a buy for someone looking to buy a Logitech steering wheel on PC?

Does this game do ultra wide screen resolution? 49'

    • +3

Yes! If you are getting the Logitech wheel (or any decent wheel), this game will offer you one of the best sim experiences available, with literally hundreds of great mod cars as well as dozens upon dozens of high quality mod tracks to explore for years to come, plus the base content is good too and there is a decent amount there, but the mods (along with the quality of the physics and force feedback) is what makes this arguably, the all round king of racing sims.

Just make sure you follow a comprehensive guide on YouTube for instance and get the content manager and all the other essential add-ons setup before diving in.

      have fun 👍

P.S. Sorry, not sure about Ultra Wide, but I think so, as I think it also does proper triple screen support too.

Thank you - bought it. now for the forever taking install.

My bro gave me an Xbox Razer controller so I guess I can give it a go for that whilst hunt for a Logitech wheel on Marketplace/Gumtree.

        • You're welcome 😃

In regards to using a controller, I have tried this and would not recommend it. I tried so many settings and specific mod add-ons and tutorials online, but could not get it to work on any acceptable level. Just never allows you to be in control of the car, like other games (using controller) will. My conclusion is that, sadly controller support has always been severely broken for this game.

So I strongly advise a wheel asap as controller is just an exercise in extreme frustration. But a wheel is always far more preferable in a sim game anyway, although proper controller support would have been nice imo.

When you get your wheel, you'll never look back, the experience compared to a controller is night and day.

Just had an email a few minutes before replying, telling me to access my Mega storage account (or lose my data) and discovered a small collection of Porsche car mods I had uploaded for someone on Reddit.

So I figured I should offer them to you here, to get you started :

            @wonderboy4: Thanks for you comments

I've played it for a few hours with controller and thought it may be me being absolutely bad at the game.

Unless is set the AI to 80-85%% I can't even keep up with the car. Cornering is terrible, I can't come out fast enough to keep up. At the default 98% I can't even advance from the first race.

I download a few Audi mod cars but none really worked well. Either too fast for what are or the AI doesn't know how to control them

Most fun I had is hooning around the Nurburgring solo trying not to crash. Do you know if getting tourist traffic on the ring is easy? I read that some Control Manager Software may do it.

I saw your link but already have the Porsche DLC - are these better?

Also do you know any good websites that have mod cars to add to the game that actually behave like they should? Keen to look at anything but would love Audi 'S' and 'RS' variants. Ferrari Testarossa and Mercedes SL Gullwing would be the bees knees
