Reolink are generally cheaper from their eBay/Amazon Store (especially when you stack discounts).

  • Mod please change url to https://reolink.com/au/

    • Already updated.

Looking at a couple of Duo 2s so ends up being a not so insignificant discount.
That is unless someone can talk me down :)
Two would allow for complete front and one side coverage, if I went three it would cover the back but that can be done with a narrower camera which would be covered by the side Duo. the other side being so narrow would be best covered with a narrow FoV with the placement mostly covered by the previous/backyard camera.
Only started down this rabbithole Christmas day when my wife said she would like a video doorbell. "Video cameras you say?" "No just a doorbell" "So complete coverage with motion detect huh?" "No! A Doorbell!" "Gotcha! I think we will need 5 or 6 cameras" "Sigh"

      You must be kidding.

The current price (even after applying the 5% discount) is nowhere near as good as the BF deals they had running.
But if you can't wait for the their next best sale event, go for it.

Also, look at purchasing an appropriate NVR (depending on the number of cameras).

Check Reolink other marketplace store (Amazon, eBay, etc).

The Reolink Duo 2 PoE is currently $172.49 Delivered @ Amazon AU

      • Thanks.
Checked most options. For me and the current situation the wifi version is required.
Mostly looking for the motion detection at ingress locations with deterant of video cameras. Working night shift can make the wife nervous methinks.
$200 ish for 170 degree horizontal FoV in a convenient single package seems it but the mark. Detection is the focus in my use case, if I want to move to high reliability identification then I would add in something like PTZ with narrow FoV and zoom. Maybe automation based on trigger events. But like I mentioned only a couple days into this topic.
NVR wise, secondary consideration and may go a self-hosted option more so for fun to start off as it will help with the education process.

Ensure the Duo sits in middle of wall and it will cover the viewing area (left and right) well. If it sits near corner of wall then the single camera is fine.

      • I have an a property plan which I am using Fusion to get fairly exact coverage zones for angles and detection distances. Its a bit of a puzzle trying to get sufficient coverage at a reasonable price without devices everywhere.

  • If you can buy them off Amazon, they are usually a lot cheaper than Reolink. Rarely, Kogan or eBay might also be cheaper. I've only ever bought the E1 Outdoor Pro from the Reolink website as you can't buy this anywhere else. All my other Reolink cameras like the Trackmix, E1 Zoom, 510-WA & NVR have all been cheaper through an online reseller.

After messing around with Eufy and Reolink, I can vouch that Reolink cameras are better in almost every way. The Eufy 4K professional cameras are capped at about 2000mbps so the quality will be low, the only benefit of Eufy is that they have a really good app with rich notifications. This is invaluable if all you want is info on what is going on around your house. However, if you actually want to see people's faces or license plates it has to be Reolink. An NVR is also a must, you can't skimp on this one as SD cards are a joke compared to the NVR, it will unlock little notification videos along side continuous recording. If you only have an SD card then you will be extremely frustrated looking through 5 minute videos trying to see what triggered that 15 second notification when you have continuous recording on.

  • Official Reolink AliExpress was the cheapest during new year deals and they ship AU versions from Sydney, not from China. They ship very fast.

    • Can confirm. And returns are to Sydney not China.
