  • Does anyone have one of these and recommend it? I've seen a few "reviews" that seem to be favourable but very few seem genuinely independent.

I got the CarLinkKit 3.0 and it works well. Sometimes takes slightly longer to connect for some reason than normal (20-30s) however I am happy with it and would purchase again. I am using it with an Atoto Android Head Unit

    • I've tried three different ones now. All the same outcome, it's crap IMO. Unreliable, slow actions and just crap to use. 1:3 times won't connect at startup. Takes 2-4 seconds to change a track on Spotify or Apple Music. Speech to text unusable due to delay. EVen calls were bad.

      • Why are you commenting if you haven't used this particular device?

I use it in a Mazda and a Skoda, and it works great. The only thing I've noticed is that my phone battery drains quickly, but that may be the case with wireless car sharing in general, I can't be sure.

I have this one to connect to iPhone and pretty happy with it. As cvas’s comments it might take slightly longer to connect sometimes if you don’t mind.

Exactly why I got an Ottocast instead. It’s not perfect but it’s been good enough.

  • Title says "Carlinkit 5.0 Wireless" but the link navigates to a Carlinkit 4.0 unit?

How is this deal a "deal"?

This isn't anywhere near a bargain when compared to recent posts as mentioned above by BG.

Say no to OzB becoming Ozfreeadvertising.

I doubt it's free - these guys must have paid for the listing.

That's not how it works. Scotty would be even richer than he already is if that was the case.

  • Have a 5.0. Initially worked OK but I have an Android phone and wife has an iPhone. Randomly chose which to connect to (not always most recently connected) and not easy to switch. Also now experiencing random drop outs during drives which is frustrating as usually have maps on. Have replaced with a much more expensive https://smartworldcompany.com/en-au/products/cp-aa
Allows selection of device (between 2) at start up which is perfect. Seems to be more reliable but only used for 2 weeks so far

    Looks like cheaper elsewhere
