    Great game, good price

  • was waiting for a good price, until i tried it in the shop and realise i need the steering wheels , pedals to make it fun.

    • +7

      Not true.

    • its actually super playable on controller, tho a wheel would always be ideal…

      • It doesn't feel the same , I don't feel like Takumi Fujiwara :(

        Also need the gear stick.

        • I finished the entire game in VR, with controller.

      • +4

PSVR2 and wheel is the ideal setup…

        • Yep…and adding Logitech G Pro Wheel….it's a game changer and its Trueforce blown my mind….

          • @bagachin: Or a Fanatec GT DD Pro, which is the official GT7 wheel after all!

Depends on how "serious" you are about it and how you define "fun" really.

I have gamed GT series since GT1 with only controller and had heeeeeeeaps of fun. That being said, I started having proper full sim rig setup for GT7 with PS VR2 only. It's sure as hell taking the fun to the next level. When you play it with the full rig, the simulation part get amplified (the better the steering, the more it will be) and counterintuitively it feels a little less "game like". If you love driving, it's epic…..

But again, it can still be a HUGE fun esp at $50….it's a steal and bargain in my mind. Other greedy game developers just keeps on creating a barebone game and then having costly DLC but GT7 keeps on giving out new cars and functional updates for free.

The only time you "can" pay to play is in-game credit, but frankly, I have never felt I need to buy them to make any kind of progress reasonably. Also, after SPEC II update, you can easily win 250k+ credit by just completing 3 of their weekly challenging race (super easy)…

      • the motion sickness is real when I do VR2 on GT7

  • curious. just like to have a play here and there .. is that possible or do you need to 'play' to gain tracks and cars.

    • +1

Absolutely possible to play straight away in arcade mode, you will have to play a little bit to get cars for the "career mode" but they are relatively easy to obtain and are given as prizes frequently

Got this for Xmas - was skeptical but really enjoyed. It's not a casual game, you've got to put time in but it's worth it.

    • It took time to upgrade your cars. You have to work, assist your kids homework, workout , home duty. Just little time spend on the game. But this game ,you can only drive Mazda 2 at the beginning…Weird game mode.

the single player game revolves around completing the menu books… of which there are 50 of them so far… ie.. each book is 3 races usually with a theme like Japanese turbo rwd sports cars or 1960s US muscle cars…

three-five laps on Bathurst, then Suzuka then Silverstone for example.

You can pace yourself… I dont think I've played more than an hour a day so I treat it as relaxation.

The money you earn is piss… you get a few free cars every so often but sometimes you have to buy certain cars to progress the game.

It helps if you played the games in the past to understand what Polyphony DIgital is trying to do.

Also there's some grinding if you need money… ie. you have to run the same track that pays a lot to get money to buy cars.

Would you say it's similar to gt4?
For some reason gt5 didn't have the same soul in career mode, for me

          • +3

@gfjh567gh3: No, the Coffee shop career mode in GT7 is super boring.

Price matching Big W if you don’t want to wait for it to arrive. Or price match at JB HIFi then use a $10 perks voucher if you have one, and nab it for $44. A good game.

  • I bought this game on 16th Dec for $95.95 from Amazon…. Is there a way to claim the difference?

    • Price protection from a credit card?

HODL until they add the JZX100 Toyota Chaser

Hmm picked this up for $39 a year ago on Amazon. Not really a deal.

  • Suzuki Escudo is all you need

I remember using that beast of a car on PS2. It would blow the doors off anything. It was so fast it would beat most cars in reverse.

Sometimes for a challenge I would sit on the start line for several mins while the other cars lapped me. Then I would race and win after being several laps behind

I was getting very good and word started to spread about my ability. Eventually a race company saw some footage of my skill and invited me to race in real life for them. After several years of race experience I won Pikes Peak in an Escudo

I want this game, but haven't touched my PS5 in a month.

Only ever played Warzone, but gaming is so time consuming.

No idea where people find the time.

I spose most gamers aren't at the gym 2 hours like me 😂

    • +1

Gym and Game life balance bro…lol….but mad respect for 2 hrs gym everyday!

      • +1

        I mean, sometimes over.
By the time you drive blah blah.

I've done 4X a week on AVG for 20 years.

I'm 97kgs, and fairly lean. I'm used to my body, so I wouldn't want to give it up.

I enjoy gaming, but after long sessions I do feel like I could of something more constructive 😂

Thanks tho, it isn't easy going in all the time esp with injuries etc

    • +5

Damn bro, 2 hours a day, surprised you can even fit inside a doorframe to play PS5 in your home.

      • I bought during COVID, and I had a wrist injury so I couldn't head to gym for a while.

It was a life saving during those times.

    • +2

      gym 2 hours like me

If that's daily, you better be on some good gear or you're just wasting time.

      • 4X a week, always done a bro split.

Off days, I now walk or something.

I am 97kgs and fairly lean, never touched the gas. I've always feared hair loss, most my family are semi bald.

I am in my 40s, have very mild thinning so already considered a HT 😂

    • If you get a good direct drive wheel and a pedal set with load cell, then you can swap out he gym for sim racing and still get a relatively good arm, leg and neck workout!… But maybe still go to the gym for the gut!

  • I got the PS4 version last BF/CM sale, should have waited. Do you know what is the difference between the PS4 and PS5 versions?

  • Currentlt been playing it on PS4 pro.
Got it for $39 a few weeks ago.
    Its absolutely awesome.
In cabin feels so realistic this time round and the sense of speed is good.

Busting my ass trying to get all golds in the license atm
