Good price for a recently released dash cam from a reputable brand. Part of boxing day deals?

    Still uses starvis 1.
Can buy better for around same price that has starvis 2

    • -3

What's wrong with starvis 1 though michael?

      • +1

Nothing but starvis 2 is a lot better and the fact that you can get for same price makes this not a good deal

        • -2

Well in that case show us an example from JB that's the same price then hey!?

          • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: Sorry Johnny, gotta side with Michael on this, Starvis2 > Starvis, Viofo ftw

          • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: Michael is right. Check out the Viofo A229 Plus, which is a better STARVIS 2, 2K Front and Rear, for ~$80 cheaper or even the Pro, 4K version for ~$30 more. Viofo has much better software too.

            • @idd: Would you mind linking? I can't find it.

        • This. Starvis 2 handles headlight reflections off licence plates a lot better.

Once again, local pricing means crap tech. Viofo for the win!

  • This looks like the 70mai dashcam, but with a higher price.

  • Are these cameras worth is though? Do we really need them aye?

Ever watched DashCams on Youtube ??? These could be a Godsend for some when a Hit N Run or a Moron who tries to blame you for an accident you did not cause

      • Yeah you're right but some of them cost half a grand aye and then you gotta set up n dat

        • That is true on cost but plenty of deals come around & if you're unable to fit yourself then you have places like Aistasker, etc that can help…

        • Think of it this way: having video proof that an accident was another driver’s fault means that if you make an insurance claim, you’re 1) not the one paying the excess and 2) aren’t claiming against your own policy, meaning you keep your no claim discount and lower premium. That alone covers the cost of a good dash cam and then some

          • @Anthropomorphised: Yeah true you're right aye but $500 is a lot of money you know…. and besides you have to turn it on and off each time you drive.

            • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: It should automatically turn on, only annoying thing is that it doesn’t include the hardwire kit as then it would run while you’re parked too
