  • Nah - buy metal jerry cans and they will outlast you

I have plastic jerry cans that are min 20 years old. Still going strong. I have no doubt they will outlast me at a third of the price of metal ones.

      They don't rust either.

Metal are good but add extra weight and are often harder to get into position to pour.

    • +6

Metal ones also don't leach petrol fumes into your car.

      • This was an issue for us once upon a time. Have moved to metal and are much preferred.

They really shouldn't be carried/left in the car…

How else do you get them to the servo to fill up? Push bike?

A dollar a litre and it’s still empty

    • It's filled with air… Premium air.

In my opinion these really need a pressure release valve. Makes like so much easier.

    • +1 That's definitely a flaw

Scepter ones are $24 at Repco and have a pressure relief valve. Been waiting for this one to come on special.

    • $24 is already a special price. You can click fuel can tag above and check previous prices. Yes, it could have been lower but not posted.

      • Thanks!

I have two of them and you are right. I wouldn't buy this ones because it is hard to pour it without pressure valve and this ones pouring aid hose very poor quality.
      They are cheap but painful

      • The squat Scepter ones without pressure release valve are the best you can get.

I'm going to wait for next aldi metal jerry can sale. I missed the last one.
