10% Bonus Value on Broadsheet Gift Card (Physical or Digital) + 1% Surcharge (+ $2.95 Physical Delivery) @ Broadsheet Gift Card

70

No code required.

Wanted to check balance of a physical card I have and noticed the banner on website- seem to apply to both physical and digital in all denominations.

Bonus value instead of direct discount so works out to be 9.09% discount; or 8.09% after payment surcharge. Not fantastic but better than nothing for those looking to dine out over Christmas holidays.

Gift card only works at MCC 5812 in my experience.

T&Cs: Limited time only. Promotion is available from Sunday 17th December until Sunday 24th December at 11:59PM AEST 2023 (unless sold out prior). The additional 10% value is automatically applied at checkout. Additional value applies to all denominations of the Broadsheet gift card on www.broadsheetgiftcard.com.au only. The promotion is valid for a maximum of $2,500 per customer. The promotion is limited to one use per customer. The promotion is available for AU customers only.

FYI it can be added to Android/Apple Pay

  • thanks OP for posting :)

    3. This card will work at any Restaurant, Bar or Café that accepts eftpos and has a merchant category code that corresponds to this industry type.

my category gift card acceptability experience:

    • OnlyOne Night Out (Blackhawk) > Broadsheet (TCN) > Restaurant Choice (Blackhawk) > Restaurant Card (TCN) > Good Food (TCN)
    • Does it mean it’s better than restaurant choice? I am quite happy with choice. If so, I may get some.

Depends on where you're using. Restaurant Choice (Blackhawk) and Restaurant Card (TCN) are accepted at 5814 so useful if you dine at fast food a fair bit. FYI Nando's is categorised under 5814 (I was surprised) so I'd rank the GC a little different to tonester 😉

        Mine would be:

Restaurant Choice (Blackhawk)> Restaurant Card (TCN)> The Fork (TCN) = Broadsheet (TCN)= Good Food (TCN).

Haven't used OnlyOne Night Out before.

        • thanks, forgot about TheFork, but I'd rate that last anyway, worse than Good Food

          acceptability = range of categories

i've used Broadsheet at fast-food/takeaway including Sushi Sushi and Maccas, bakeries such as Ferguson Plarre, and possibly also Menulog - only OnlyOne Night Out is more versatile

          • @tonester: I'm pretty sure I've tried using Broadsheet and fast food/takeaway and it didn't work, but this was quite some time ago. Good to know that it works, I'll try it again!

PS: only issue with Broadsheet is the physical card is a bit of a PITA, I couldn't even get to check my balance on the website (same issue last time, had to call up customer service)

            • @Craze:

+1 same for me with those from flybuys :(

          • @tonester: Mmm my broadsheet physical GC was declined at Red Rooster today- says transaction not allowed. Unfortunately being a physical GC I can't confirm the MCC, but assuming RR would be 5814?

            • @Craze: or at least that particular one - MCC could vary across different locations/franchisees of the same chain

        • and way down the line is "The Best Restaurants" Gift Card which is funnily enough the WORST.

They have Limited restaurants you can use it with, and the ONE dumpling place that was on their list I got to didn't accept it.

Spent about a month with Shopback support, where I bought it, before I got my $100 back.

          • @captbollocks: yes, Best Restaurants is merchant- not category-restricted => avoid

    • Why is Good Food so low on this list?

      • seems to be restricted to restaurants only, not accepted at m/any cafes, let alone fast-food/take-away

There is no separate MCC category for Cafes. They are either Eating places & restaurants (5812) or Fast Food (5814), and in my experience most cafes use 5812. Good Food's main downside is no fast food (Same as The Fork)

          • @wangasm: yes, i'm fully aware of that - likely reason is that those cafes are not 5812, but unfortunately unlike the Google Play version, the TCN Apple App doesn't show MCC for transactions

I used the card yesterday at a bakery/cafe with an MCC 5462, Bakeries and other similar services

    • Thanks for reporting!

      • +1 (and) confirming :)

        • @Tonestar apologies I missed your comment above re bakeries, I just got too excited after seeing the card work at an MCC that wasn't 5812 :D
