Thx I’ve been doing some research in mattress and feel I should mention the breeze firm queen based on choices review, it’s one of the top rated and sub $400. They say it’s better than ones that cost thousands which goes to show what a joke this market is.

Disclaimer, have not tried it but good to know if you’re looking.

If you dig a little deeper, including reading the comments on those choice reviews, you'll notice those latex mattresses end up sagging over time. Where as the inner spring mattresses last years.

These new mattress companies like to claim they're specially manufactured, using some high tech methods, when they're just churned out of the same set of factories in China.

      • Yeah such a scam, the breeze seems to last, main downside from what I can see is you can’t go into store and check it out.

    • The customer reviews are pretty bad, though.

My koala mattress is sagging on one side. 4 years old.

My 5yo Snooze mattress started sagging on the edge after a year, and now has a very pronounce sag where I lay on it.

  • Latex and foams compress.

Springs can sag, but decent spring steel is well known for not doing unless 'worked' to its limit. My 30 year old Sealy was made in their heyday. Still going strong with zero sag. Turn it over once in a while, but really, there is no need. Unlike the new one…

Traditional and pocket spring non topped matresses are best, added padding just gimmickery for the sales assistants' commissions.

If you want your purchase to last, go standard spring. Add a topper if you want the padding, that way you won't get fed up and have to throw the whole lot in a year or three.

  • wow - not even free shipping for a sofa bed.

How much do you think it actually costs to ship a sofa bed?

I bought one a couple of years ago and am pretty happy with it. Before this, we had an Ikea Frihetan sofa bed which wasn't bad, but on comparing, I'd say the Koala is more comfortable both as a sofa and bed, and better looking too. Definitely as a sofa, the bed is fine if you don't mind it being low to the ground. Love folding it out for movies. Very easy to convert from sofa to bed. Still going strong after two years. Fabric is pretty durable (survived my baby puking on it). Only complaint is the matching ottoman. The lid comes off quite easily when trying to move it which is bloody annoying. All in all, happy with the purchase.
