  • Anyone had experience them ? I was gonna buy insurance was thinking Allianz atm for my flight to Vietnam next month

    • I had a good experience in that I got a good deal (there was a discount code at the time). Their app is very user friendly and easy to use, but ultimately didn't need to use the policy, which is where the main review should come from. I hope others can expand a bit more than I did.

  • Looks like Cover-More Insurance Services Pty Ltd is the underwriter

    • Depends on where you're going to. Zurich is the underwriter for Singapore.

  • +1

If you travel as a couple or family you get the 15% discount anyway and no obvious way to stack coupons.

  • Noob question again 🙋, do we need this travel insurance when we have the cc covers for the travel insurance?

    • You need to read your cover. My CC insurance states that you need to prepay at least $500 (ie Flight/hotels) and there is $200 excess per claim. So for example you lose your luggage, iphone and cancelled flight, it's 3x$200 to claim back. This type of policy is $250 excess (with Freely) for all 3 claims.
I did a quick look with Tick Travel Insurance and they came up with $180 (for 2 travellers) vs Freely which was $250.

      • Tick's coverage seems kind of iffy

  • PSA: You usually get free international travel insurance from your credit card. Have a sus.

    • I unfortunately do not have a credit card

  • -1

Checked them out earlier and got a quote for an upcoming trip - but in a quick look their cover wasn't too comprehensive. Policy seemed quite restrictive especially around flight cancellation and delays.

Then checked out RACV travel insurance cover which was very comprehensive and cheaper if you're a member. Worth checking it out if you're a RACV member!

  • an old chestnut….unless you have a Top End Credit Card the coverage can be limited. At least make sure that it includes overseas Emergency Medical Evacuation.
