Not a bad deal but please note that 'surge protection of 175J' is effectively nothing.

    • +2

What figure/s would make it worthwhile on other similar products?

      • +3

There are three relevant factors: overall surge absorption, clamping (reacting) speed and clamping voltage.
Ideally, with joule rating, you would want about 10x that amount so 1500-200 joules. Anything over 1000 is OK.
People feel their equipment is protected when they see 'surge protected' but often it is little more than a marketing gimmick and they are not really protected at all

        • You'd think this komd of marketing would be illegal.

This is a 4 port outlet.

Do they do a Jackson 5?

    • I only saw the 4 port one on sale at Woolies this morning, there are another 4 port with without USB going for 11 bucks.

        Woosh..

        • He moonwalked right past the joke

Do they do a Jackson 5?

No. I blame it on the boogie…

      • +6

And here I was thinking it was the fault of the Sunshine and/or Moonlight.

        • How is foot and/or feet control going?

    • 4 is the molestation free, version.

  • +3

The Jackson 4-port power board is also half price.

  • looks like they extend the promo from last week … went one woolies and they ran out, and only this is available

USB A "Fast Charging" ports specs:
    5V DC 2.4A MAX.

That's deliberate misuse of the term fast charging.

    • +1

Officially 2.4A is Fast Charging, it was the fastest an iPhone could charge for many many years because the USB-IF called for only 0.5-2.5A on the USB2 specification.

So factually the statement is correct.

The Proprietary Android Fast Charge protocols break from official USB specification.

I'm frequently wrong and it sucks, but it's also fine.

Happy to have helped you on your learning journey.. Hopefully you get to return the favour soon.

@seanbaussie, Thanks for pointing it out and I have removed the word "fast charging" on the title to ensure no one get confused.
