    You should be comparing with other stores or your normal prices, not RRP…

    It is against the law to compare with RRP when you do not normally sell at that price…

        and as i said, under Australian law it is illegal to claim a saving against the RRP when you do not normally sell at that price. It comes under deceptive and misleading advertising…

        eg.

        Don't Pay: $679.99 NOW $499.00

        this is misleading because you are implying the buyer is saving $180, when if fact you never sold it for $679.99, and you can easily find it cheaper than $499 elsewhere, it's $486 at another store…

      The fact that dyson.com.au sells these products at RRP is irrelevant. If you have never sold them at that price in your store, then you cannot claim a "was-now" saving based on that price. If Dyson products are new at your store and you do not have a previous price, then you should simply advertise their current price without any misleading comparison.

    Door Buster,
    Your advertising is misleading.
    You are implying that the Dysons are on sale by using a countdown clock and using the word "Save".
    How am I saving 26% if you have never sold them at the higher price?
    If you want to promote your business in here I would reconsider this kind of advertising. And make sure you are the cheapest too (even if its only a few dollars cheaper)

      I agree, the likes of Harvey Norman and Good Guys prices are at the RRP level anyway. Not sure about the clock timer thing but the prices here are actually pretty decent

    If you're near a Masters, they offer 10% price beat, which does incl. Australian online stores. Keep in mind they take into account shipping costs too.

    Technically the Masters 10% price beat doesn't include appliances (which they will only price match), so YMMV.
