I actually kinda enjoyed it, but I didn't understand why you would take an established lore and literally ignore all of it. It was like a generic space story with a Halo coat of paint on it

  because that's what it was lol. i think the script was pretty much all written when they decided to shoehorn the Halo world into it.

I heard they are trying to return to the established lore in season 2. That’s why it’s taken so long.
