Since the last deal on UG802 (about a month ago) was very popular, decided to post this. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept, this is a mini Android computer that you can connect directly to your TV and use it with wireless keyboard/mouse.

Blurb from MP4Nation definition:
"The UG802 Android TV stick is a simple plug and play device that converts your TV into a full blown Android computer. The stick connects to your TV via HDMI and is powered by a external power charger, users can also use USB wired and wireless mouse and keyboards with the UG802.

The UG802 processor is very good for video playback making the MK802 ideal for media playing and streaming.

Specifications:

  • Google Android 4.0.4
  • Processor: Rockchip RK3066 Dual Core, Mali 400 GPU
  • RAM: 1GB DDR3
  • Internal storage: 4GB
  • Expansion: MicroSD expansion
  • HDMI OUT
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • 1080p video playback capable"

I have ordered from MP4Nation for many times and without any problems. The customer service is pretty good. If there is an issue with the products, the replacements are very quick and without any dramas.

The price is $2 more than the last popular deal but this one comes with free Fedex 2 day delivery. The following code brings the price down to $67ish (AUD):
Code: fb2012fiver

I hope it is better than the Kogan version, cause that is useless.

  • If you connected a USB webcam could you use this with Skype?

  • Sorry for the N00b question..
So whats the difference between this and the one posted from Scotty's post last month?
    Can some one clarify this?
    Cheers

Might want to consider the Mk808 which is much better at around the same price.

I won't neg the deal but compared to this it loses out.

    • Agreed.

  • Really tempted. But i have already got a HTPC (the HP mini server) with my TV. I just hope i get chance to buy another TV, so i can get one of these stickers ;P

  • I would advise against getting this. there is a audio/video sync issue. google it.

  • how would one play games on this?

You can get mini wireless keyboard with mouse touchpad.

  • I have one of this and love it… you can pretty much make any new LCD, Plasma screen to be a smart TV!

It's better to hold and wait guys, because:
    1. Rockchip processors currently not "compatible" with linux. But, has no problem with Android OS
    2. 1 GB RAM is not enough!

    • 1GB seems to be enough, but it's XBMC compatibility that's the big deal.

  • Plenty of reports on the net about over heating and wifi issues. Go the Mk808. Around the same price.

  • Is there a ANDRIOD mini PC which has,
    a) power from HDMI
    b) Bluetooth to connect keyboard and mouse

Or am I asking for too much?
    Regards

    • this is the one mate, with all the features you want!
      cheers

    • Too muuuuuuuccch too muuuuuuuuuuuuuuucch!

I have one and its great. Never noticed it getting hot but wifi was pretty crappy until i opened it up and pulled the aerial wire outside the case. I now have the wire touching up against a steel vegetable strainer and the wifi is brill

steel vegetable strainer and the wifi is brill

I guess the wifi got cut out before he finished typing "brilliant"?

  • It's a nice dual core device.

  • These things suck. Constant wireless issues. Greyed out settings everywhere. Useless.

  • Do they support external hard disk like a media player? If so is there a size restriction?

  • Just a warning for anyone else wanting to order this, i just received mine and i got a box with some cables and a book in it but no actual device. might have been a once off but though i would let people know.

    • that's really bizarre. contact the store and they would sort it out quickly I would say.
