Would rather go with a more reputable brand instead. So for those reasons I’m out.

I would like to counter the offer.

  • actually usually seems to be about $60 (camels lying to me) - still a good deal

    • buy one and report back!

    50mb write speed …

  • +3

The professional is also on sale with a higher speed?

  • The write speed is slow only 'up to' 50mb/s. I won't be in it.

    • +2

The price amount is low only 'exactly' $35.38. I will be in it.

The speed indicates QLC NAND. I'd rather get Samsung Evo Plus for $39, which has 3DV6 TLC.

  • Would this be suitable for a raspberry pi 5 with yunohost running (from a home connection/NBN) ?

Bought the professional instead with 180MB/s read 150MB/s write for $42.92, thanks

Thanks for the comment, got a couple of those too

You need a decent reader to get those speeds. If you plan to use in a camera etc. you are capped at UHS-I speeds.

    Rip off, write 50MB/s …

The usual Samsung EVOs are around the same price and write 90MB/s!

  • Is this good enough for my new RG35XX?

    • +1

I've had mine for ages now and yes it works with a 512gb card. Ive tried it with the samsung EVO as well as the SanDisk cards. But this is a good price and i have 8 different handhelds at this point and its always good to have a few spare.

      • can you recommend a sd card reader? thanks in advance

I've got way too many to mention as i buy alot of stuff when i see them on special but this one seems more reliable then the normal usb stick kinda ones ive found https://amzn.asia/d/anqSNBd and its on sale at the moment.

Which ones do you have and what do you like the most? I have only a few but too many lol. X55, Miyoo mini +, RG505, RGB30. I think i just need to get a steamdeck or ROG Ally which will do everything and get rid of the rest

        • +2

Well besides having a modded 3ds and switch. I have the Rg35xx, Rg351v, Rg353v (doa), Miyoo mini +, Retroid Pocket 3+, RGB30, R35S and R36s is coming. As well as a M17 and have a Trim SmartUI Smart pro coming too. Ive bought all of these retro ones in the past 18 months or so and every single one has been on sale either from Aliexpress or Ebay. Im going to get a steamdeck too just because of Emudeck. My favourite would be the RP3+ followed by the rgb30 and Rg35xx/miyoo mini+.

The el cheapo handheld that i think cant be beat tho is the R36s. I got it along with the M17 and Trim all dirt cheap during the recent Aliexpress sales.

To anyone reading this and wondering how i managed to get them all cheap I suggest to make a list in Aliexpress and keep checking. That's how i find out when they go on sales and or special coupon offers happen. Also setup and use ebay watch lists too.

hmm not sure i want to trust my sensitive important work files on this hmm

    • I wouldn't either but to use it for something ike a gaming handheld it should be alright.

      • I would spend the extra $4 and wait for this to go back on $39 sale

        https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09FFFQ9KT

10% extra price but 1000% more peace of mind and confidence in its abilities but to each their own.. not saying this brand should not be fine

        • I actually got a few of them EVO cards myself last time they were on sale. But they dont seem to go on sale that often. The only real issue with this particular card is more the write speed. Last time i did a close to a full 500gb transfer it took quite a while even with the evo and sandisk cards but of course this is like twice as slow or even slower so ymmv. Either way i tend to grab a few whenever a decent card or ssds go on sale.

  • I bought the 'Professional High Speed ' one for 42.92 which should be as fast as a Sandisk Extreme
