Bugger, just bought a few 64GB at $9.99

      Sometimes life gives you lemons

      • And now they are $7 each those lemons are looking even more rotten.

        • +3

Ordered one more for good measure.

    • Lol same

    • Finally! I ordered from TGG last Monday. It was shipped from 3 suburbs over from me and didn't get to me til Friday. Aus post aren't coping great atm

Thanks O.P. My Anbernics will love you.

    • +1

Running one in my RG35XX and ordered a few more to go in another handheld on the way.

      • Ordered a RG35XX Plus when they went live overnight.

        • 35XX Plus?! Never knew there was an upgrade. Looking at it now, it looks like they made some nice refinements to the original. Did you order direct from Anbernic?

          • +1

@Villainous: Yeah it was cheaper than Ali at the end of the day. Ali is free delivery but charges GST. Anbernic charges for delivery but no GST. List price also higher on Ali. Bluetooth and WI-FI FTW!

            • @Drewbo: Niiiice. I have the RG35xx but contemplating selling now, and R36S just turned up the other day at my doorstep.

The analog sticks are such a winner to me that not sure I can justify the RG35xx plus though. But GarlicOS 2.0 will be there as well.

Whatever should I do? Decisions, decisions!

@adrianhughes1998: Do yourself a favour and check out the Powkiddy RGB30. It’s amazing value and quite unique. Russ from Retro Game Corps has done a couple of decent videos on it.

                • +1

@Drewbo: I would personally avoid the RGB30 and Powkiddy in general. Their quality control is terrible. The concept of the 1:1 screen on the RGB30 is great but I purchased one which is now basically just a paperweight. Battery does not hold a charge and it only works when charging on USB. Spent over 2 weeks on a near daily basis wasting my time with their 'support' who kept telling me just to update the firmware or open up and disconnect and reconnect the battery all of which made no difference. They use any excuse not to accept a return. Now disputing the transaction with my credit card company and will not buy a Powkiddy device ever again.

                  • @Wuggle: Luck of the draw I guess - which is always a risk with these cheaply made Chinese handhelds. At least you have some recourse.

                  • @Wuggle: Sounds like you were unlucky and got a dud. You can't expect these budget brands to help out which is why you should always buy with Paypal for the buyer protection.

                    • @Villainous: I suspect so as regards a dud as I know some people love their RGB30's but it is interesting when you get a dud and start to look around the internet retrogame forums and realise you are far from alone…. Powkiddy's reputation is pretty bad compared to Anbernic and others of that ilk. Not hard to find many other people with similar issues.

What really annoyed me though was their couldn't care less attitude in their support chat - I know I am stating the obvious, but clearly consumer protection laws are obviously very different/non-existent in China.

                      • @Wuggle: My advice is cut your loss and buy a new battery from Ali. Im sure theyre cheap enough and you'll have your rgb30 up and running. Just measure the battery and get at least the same mAh. Don't forget to pay with Paypal!

                • +1

@Drewbo: "Do yourself a favour and check out the Powkiddy RGB30…"

Exactly what I have on the way!

Starting to get a drawer full of micro sd cards but still couldn't resist this deal! Thanks OP, I think!

    • +6

Don't forget to replace the ones in the drawer with bigger ones as prices drop further over time!

      • Also don't forget to replace the replacements with cheaper upgraded replacements.

    • Same. I actually found 8 unopened cards (microsd and usb sticks) on a shelf in my study.

If anyone was after the 64gb version they have them for $7 at JB HIFI.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-evo-plus-64gb-mic…

  • Does anyone know where I can get really small, but good quality microSD cards?

I need a heap of them for various devices, but no real storage (1GB max) and putting 64GB cards in these devices feels like a waste.

    • +6

Doubt you'll ever find a good brand microsd for cheaper than $7. They won't be making 1GB cards any more mate. Manufacturing, shipping and packages will mean the cost price will be very marginally smaller than a 64GB one.

    • +2

This is about the cheapest tbh here. I normally got a few when I travelled to asia for $5-7 but that’s for 32gb sandisk ultra. Sometimes they have 16gb available for like $4, but I don’t think I’ve seen anything below 16gb for a while.

  • Which version is good for dashcams? Evo is good enough or do I wait for Endurance to be on sale?

  • +1

64GB showing as $7 for me

    • Could you purchase at that price?

      • Yes. Grabbed one and 2 x 128GB. The 128GBs are arriving tomorrow, but the 64GB not until Thursday

        • Thanks for confirming. Have updated the title

  • Now $7 on Amazon

    • Can you actually purchase and checkout @ $7?

      • I could just now

        • Thanks for confirming. Have updated the title

Thanks, OP. Placed an order, but haven't figured out what I will use it for,

  • Will this work on switch? 512gb is full and kids like to install new games but kind of hard, considering buying them both a 256

    • Yes these will work great. They’ll also perform well (fast loading) - Switch maxes out at 90MB/s read which these clear

  • anyone know of a 1tb or 512gb deal?

  • Friday i got Jbhifi to price match, using office works prices.

  • +1

    @HN:
    512GB EVO Plus $39
    256GB EVO Plus $22
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-evo-plus-micro-sd-ca…

  • I paid $17 for a pint of beer

  • +1

Mine turned up today, even the 64GB which originally said it was coming Thursday. $7 for a 64GB Samsung, can't go wrong. I still have one unopened from another deal though :D
    Now I have 2 64GBs, 2 128GBs and a 256GB all sealed waiting for a use case :D

  • Can these be used in the Nintendo OLED switch?. Thanks

    • +1

Yes they can; but depending on your use-case you might want to consider a larger capcacity.
