ssd's from those guys aren't good. lol but with sd cards they are pretty good with sandisk

for ssds I would go samsung
sd cards I would go sandisk

    • Samsung > Sandisk

By a mile. I'd trust Samsung to continue to work. I'd trust Sandisk to lose data.

  • Which model Samsung?

    • pro plus

Much better value than the 1.5TB card

    • +1

Depends how many slots you have to utilise. 1.5tb is great for out in and forget.

The Ultras are slow af, I stopped buying those since I had a Galaxy S7 and got a 64GB Extreme Pro

      • Same, I haven't bought a Sandisk Ultra memory cards for ages now. If I want budget cards, I usually go for Samsung EVO+. For higher-end cards, I am happy with both Sandisk Extreme/Pro and Samsung Pro Plus.

  • Thanks OP!
Got the new pocket 3 and apparently highly recommended to use this exact model. Will get the 256gb instead tho

  • Noob question, are these good for DSLR cameras and Switch consoles? Or should I get faster ones?

Looking at getting for others as Xmas gifts, they both need more sd cards apparently

    • +1

      This is fast enough

    • +1

Good to go as far as I’ve been reading!

    • DSLRs will usually have full size SD cards, this one is a micro SD. Best to check before you purchase

    • +2

The switch is fine with the cheaper models (ultras), since once things are installed on the card you never have to worry about write speed, which is probably still faster than your download speed even on the cheaper models. Read speed is actually pretty similar between cheap and expensive SD cards, you are paying for the write speed.

DSLRs want the fast write speed though, so for those you want an Extreme or Extreme Pro. DSLRs also prefer full sized cards, but if you aren't a pro photographer a microSD in it's adapter is probably fine. (performance is allegedly the same, the adapter just happens to add an additional "point of failure" that a pro photographer wouldn't tolerate having)

It's fine. I've been using micro SD cards in adapters since forever these SanDisks (and the popular Samsung EVO/Pro's) will work fine even shooting 4K videos from typical consumer level cameras (I shoot with a Canon R6 Mark II).

Hmmm got the 512gb Samsung evo plus deal the other day for $39…. Do I switch for this for a video camera

Good price on 256GB version too: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09X7CRKRZ?th=1

Works with VIOFO dashcam if you bought recently.

    • +1

Just ordered VIOFO A229 Plus 2-camera pack last weekend, but ordered a 256GB Sandisk Max Endurance card for the dash cams. This Extreme 256GB is cheaper and another good option recommended by VIOFO.

      • im looking for viofo deal. how much did you pay?

        • $300 from VIOFO Australia distributor site: https://www.viofo.com.au/product/a229-plus-2ch/

If you buy directly from VIOFO in China, it's $280. But I want to avoid to hassle of sending the item back to China if there is any fault .

What to add for $1.33 to get the free shipping?

Just imagining 3 wise camels telling you about the price. 🐫🐫🐫👍💵
