UPDATE: With code WINTER23 you get an additional $2 Credit.

This is a nice freebie!! I haven't tested it (because I don't have an eSim compatible device), however where I saw it they say it still works.

Registration and the eSIM card are free and it offers $10 credit for Black Friday with the code FRIDAY23. The credit does not expire, so you can use it for your next trip in 5 days or 12 months.

Once the $10 has been used, you can top up the account if you want more data. For example, $10 is equivalent to 3.5GB in Australia, or 3.1GB in the USA or 1.6GB in Japan.

Please note, your mobile must be eSIM compatible to take advantage of this good deal!

The procedure:

  1. Download the application
    Android
    iOS

  2. Create an account

  3. Add the discount code FRIDAY23
  4. Install the eSIM with your phone by following their procedure

The list of countries remains small (47 destinations) but it plans to opening it to 200 countries soon.

Worked, thanks OP. Looks like a new startup with less then 500 downloads on Google Play. Won't abuse it

  • +1

So to clarify, you can't even open the app unless you're device has eSim capabilities.

    • +1

Not sure, I didn't need to install the eSim though to get the credit. But my phone does have esim capabiltiies.

      • +1

The app won't open saying "no esim detected" and closed.

  • Thanks op

  • Very competitive prices! Thanks Op

    • +1

You are welcome! I love posting freebies.

  • +4

Excellent, thank you. I have Eskimo + Just eSIM + Red Bull Mobile and now this lined up for my trip.

    • Did you find a way to use multiple accounts from any of those ? I know Eskimo doesnt allow it

      • I haven't tried, that's enough data for me to have as a backup

    • +1

      Don’t forget TEL-U

      • I did see that but I'm not going to Asia

      • has anyone tried to use TEL-U? I tried in both AU and NZ and the data doesn't work. Got a friend to try and it also didn't work. Eskimo and Redbull work very well.

        • Yep, TEL-U worked fine in Japan.

          • @igorekh: Very Curious! I tried to get support from TEL-U but all they do is tell me to send them screenshots from the Sim setting and they couldn't really figure out what was wrong.

            • +1

@cucumber: From memory, all I did was entering APN as 3gnet and then it worked straight away.

              • @igorekh: Amazing! That works! Hopefully others find this helpful too. I wish their support would have just told me that after I sent them the screenshots.

        • TEL-U worked fine in Bali

  • +1

Cheers! Cant complain about 3.6GB of free data 👌

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Thanks OP. Really appreciate you posting. But I'm so worried about installing unknown apps on my phone, especially ones that can install an eSIM etc.

    Shall I or shan't I????

    • Huh? Are you saying all 1000s apps on Google/Apple store are from unknown?

    • Well. I installed it and applied the promo code. All seemed to go well.
Fingers cross when it comes time to use it.

  • +1

They might like to get their shit together a bit better though: zero support documentation for new users (other than an iPhone-only installation guide) is pretty amateurish. eSIMs are great, but you need to be careful about which ones can be reinstalled (e.g. if you're using multiple eSIM providers and your phone only allows one to be installed at a time), and sometimes getting the settings right can be very difficult, especially for newbies (forums like Flyertalk are rich with comments about eSIM problems while travelling, often because of user error, but also the difficult settings that can sometimes be involved).

  • HOW TO USE ESIM.
If I op out, can I delete this company's esim?

    • You scan a QR code to install the eSIM, you can uninstall the eSIM at any time.

  • Dang doesn’t cover south East Asian countries :(

    • Isn't Indonesia a part of South East Asia?

      • Funny guy. It's missing a lot of them in that region.
Guess you are good if you're going to Botswana.

  • +1

Confirmed that I didn’t need to activate the esim to add the credit. Thanks OP.

I use esim and normal sim on my phone, concerned that if I activate this one it will replace my current esim 😕 does anyone know what happens normally?

    • Look up on your phone model to check. Depend on which phone model you can have 2 active esim.

      • only applicable from iphone 13? Previous generations allow 1 esim active at a time, iirc.

    • In my case (pixel 4a,7,8) you can have multiple esims on the phone, but only one active at any time. Like having a bunch of sims in your pocket but only one slot on the phone, but much less chance of dropping one.

    • +2

S21 ultra user here, currently have 3 esims installed and I just toggle them on/off as need be. They all work independently.

  • This sounds really good actually. I might even keep using it after the free $10 (which is obviously what they are hoping for).
Quite frustrating some of them require a 7 day plan or a 30 when I need 9 etc.

Say goodbye to wasting money on unused plans:

Roamless has no data plans. Just add funds to your balance and you’re connected. The funds you don’t use on your trip? They never expire, so you can use them on your next trip (and the trip after that, and the trip after that… you get the idea).

  • +2

    Credit added. Thankss.

Do I activate esim a day before or do I do it now?

Do I have to select a country whem activating or is it automatic?

    Thanks

    • Set it up now, and then turn it off until you travel. You have to let "data roaming" happen on that sim. Everything is auto, but you should allow the app to access your location.

  • What payment methods are accepted for topping up credit? Just credit cards? PayPal?

    • it accept card or Cash App Pay (not available in AU)

      • Ta

  • Thanks, OP - it's very good!

    • -6
      • Where's your pos vote?
      • You've used it already? It's no good if you can add credit but the eSIM doesn't work for example
  • Currently in Japan and this will come in very handy. Cheers!

  • Confused on what providers allow e-sim in Australia. I did a quick google and the Apple website says only Vodaphone - is that right?

    • I think all providers offer esim by now, I've had a amaysim esim which uses Optus

    • +1

I’m on Woolworths Mobile (Telstra wholesale network) and I just swapped from physical sim to eSIM.

    • all the major telcos support it, not too many of the MVNOs do though

    • Aldi mobile doesn't. It's annoying I use a physical sim for bank stuff when overseas, tired of juggling. I swap to amaysim soon I think.

  • Managed to add a few account to my poco f3 phone using 5ber.esim and esim.me. Thanks op!

  • Works well on iPhone but fyi you can’t sign up new multiple accounts on the same phone

  • App not compatible with Galaxy Fold 5 T_T

  • +1

@Jinnyboy you can download the APK file search on Google and you will manage to Install the app,I'm using on fold 4 running 100%

    • thanks a lot mate - you the real MVP

  • Good deal, thanks OP, easily configured.

  • excellent deal! thanks Op, anyone knows if we got a phone number assigned, please?

    • +1

      Nah, it's data only.

I use these esims services and a virtual number on cloudsim for worldwide roaming. Seems to work well.

      • Could you explain how this works in a bit more detail?

        • +1

I travel a lot and generally roaming is often a pain in the grand scheme of things. So I use a cloud based mobile number, that only works if you've access to the net. It's an app, that works on android or PC, although there's lots for iPhone as well. Think "WhatsApp", but they don't need to call you from a WhatsApp account. For anyone calling me, it looks like they're just calling a standard number, and costs them standard rates. For me, it's free to receive calls, and a pay a minimal per minute price to call from wherever I am. Texts are around 5c each. To make this work wherever I am, I used to just buy a local sim. I still do if I'm there for over a few weeks, but…. These new roaming esims are a really nice way to maintain connectivity before I've bought a local sim, or if I'm somewhere for a short amount of time/ will have WiFi 95% of the time.

It's a use case thing. If you just want, for example, to be able to receive banking texts from your provider, amaysim 10 dollar sims give you that facility as an esim for one year. I use cloud sim to maintain a UK/US number to allow me access to stuff that needs a local number. Krispcall or sonetel have Australia numbers and plans from 3 bucks a month. it really depends what you want to achieve.

          • @Robc: Thanks for the response! So it sounds sort of like internet phoning?

I have an android and I'm planning to spend around 5 weeks in Europe next year, my initial idea was to buy a cheap sim once I landed in Europe for a European number and use this service (i.e. Roamless) for the data aspect, but I also wanted to keep the Australian sim to receive SMS for 2 factor authentication and so on (since I only have one sim slot).

But with cloudsim, would it be feasible that I can keep my physical Australian sim in to receive SMS to my regular Australian number, use cloudsim to generate a European number, and use Roamless for data?

            • +1

@spicspec: That would work fine. I'd say that you might as well see if you can convert your Australian sim to an esim, if your phone supports that. Many phones with a single slot will happily support an Extra esim, letting you buy a cheap physical card in Europe. Those are cheap there, come with roaming by default. Or look for a esim option wherever your trip starts.

You may not find you actually need a euro number, if you've WhatsApp. Skype is still going, and has saved me a few times, as a handy way to call hotels etc from wherever.

From the sound of it, just get a Skype account with 10 bucks of credit, leave your Aussie sim where it is, and sign up for a few of these esims to tide you over where there's no WiFi. There's Other deal on it here right now for a GB on Eskimo for free, same real esim.

              Best of both worlds. 👍

              • @Robc: Oh that sounds like a great idea since my provider (Catchconnect) doesn't do eSim. A physical Australian sim to receive SMS, skype (using data/wifi) to make calls, and a bunch of esims for data!
Can I receive calls through Skype? Because then all bases would be covered!

          • @Robc: That's interesting! I'm kinda looking for the cheapest way from overseas to:

            • Call Australian numbers; and
            • Receive calls from Australian numbers
            • Call Malaysian/Singapore numbers (from time to time)

Do you have any tips for this? Pretty specific use-case mind you

            • +1

@illumination: Skype can give you a local Australian number, but it'll cost you around 80 bucks a year, plus you'll need some credit for dialling out/messaging out. That's a very nice solution though, no one will know that you're not at home, you can receive calls anywhere where there's WiFi /mobile data. Rates are cheap, a few cent a minute to pretty much any location worldwide. (Singapore e /Malaysia are both around 4c a minute, from a $10 credit top up)

For me I stopped doing that, as all I use my mobile for is 2FA for banking etc. My UK number is virtual, via cloudsim, and my Australian number will become an esim shortly, I'll turn off roaming, just as an sms reception method.

If you particularly need a virtual Australian mobile number, there's loads of options… That I havent used personally. On my post above sonotel and krispcall have a virtual mobile. Service from 3 bucks a month. Maybe start there. 👍

    • +1

The main thing you want is data when roaming. Just use fb messenger, whatsapp, viber etc for calls.
Guess I'll install it but won't be going anywhere immediately. When are these other countries being added - no Thai no deal.
(usually grab an AIS monthly sim and off ya go).

  • Thanks OP. This might be handy for a light data use when travelling to those eligible countries.

Currently the Asian countries that are covered so far:

    1. Bangladesh
    2. Indonesia
    3. Japan
    4. Pakistan
    5. Sri Lanka
  • So if add this for Indonesia (Bali), how much data do you actually get?

    Edit: Looks like 2.6GB.

    • After you've signed in, there is a redeem promo code button in the app. It won't ask you, you need to go looking for it.

No idea why, but I've got $12.70 credit from the above 2 codes. Thanks OP, this is gonna be useful.

    • Same

You are awarded $0.35 with each promo redemption.

  • What a whacky promo code field… is it just me?

  • Awesomeeee. So handy to have when you get off the plane to order a grab/uber. Cheers OP!

  • Can't use it on my jailbroken iphone, the app says "Rooted Device, It looks like you are on a rooted device. Please note that you won't be able to redeem any promo codes (including referrals) due to account security reasons. Thank you for your understanding.".

edit seems to be resolved with RootHide Dopamine

    • did you jailbreak with palera1n ? tryin to bypass Roamless 1 account per device policy so i can make several accounts

      • no I was originally on Dopamine and then I installed and used RootHide Dopamine to add the promo code then I uninstalled that jailbreak and switched back to Dopamine

  • Thanks OP, this has worked well as a freebie. I.couldn't get that Tel-U SIM to work, so this one has saved the day.

    • What issues were you facing with Tel-U?

  • +3

FRIDAY23 no longer works but WINTER23 still active and working

  • +2

Just posting to say this Roamless eSIM is working well in Indonesia Jakarta. Connected to Telekomsel LTE with a really good Speedtest of 97.1Mbps down and 10.8Mbps up but 400ping. Tested 6:25am on 3/4 bar reception
    https://www.speedtest.net/result/i/5896483808

…. And yeah sacrificed 300MBs or 99c of my valuable Roamless data for this test.

  • +1

Any other codes except for Winter23 that you can use at the moment?
