Tried to charge a powerbank and run a Gl.Inet router through two provided USB C ports and it was crapping out like crazy.
It could only supply power to one device at a time and would reset in few seconds and then the other device and so on.
One device at a time was working fine though.

    • Is there an alternate Gan charger that you would recommend?

I've been using it to charge a laptop, phone, and power bank and it is working fine.

Whenever you add a new device, it stops charging and recalibarates voltage.

That's intended, whenever you plug or unplug something, it re-negotiates the power delivery for everything that is plugged in.

I'm guessing one of your device keeps flip flopping between taking power and stopping

  • Just wondering with anybody else's experiences with these, but should these get almost dangerously hot?
I used it to charge my phone at my office and after about 15 mins or so, it was very hot to the touch.

I replaced this with a previous USB dock that never got this hot.

    • Heat is less of an issue for GaN as the maximum it can handle is 600 degrees, while for silicon it's only 150. Given the greater heat resistant and smaller size this is why you'll find it to be more hot.
