Did you look at the reviews ?

Most are 1 star out of 5

    • They seem 50/50 good/bad. Has anyone on here had any experience with them?

    • @jv we’ve had the occasional dropping out too with the carlinKit one but overall not too bad

      • I had one, it's a rebranded carlinkit, still has dropout issues.

        • Ok thanks

We bought one last year. It failed after 2 months, they replaced it after a massive stuff around then the replacement failed 2 months later again and it was always buggy so we bought an ottocast and haven’t had an issue since in the last 6 months and it’s much less laggy

      • I have a carlinkit unit and couldn't get it running at all until I worked out that the USB port on my car radio wasn't able to supply enough power for it. I bought a USB splitter cable that allowed me to power the carlinkit unit from another USB port, and now everything works just fine.

I bought 2 from Quad Lock directly 3 weeks ago. It gave me some connectivity issues initially as my phone Bluetooth was connected to my car unit, once I removed that it was seamless. No complaints.

You can still get carlinkit 5.0 on eBay for $70 (or $65 with eBay+ $5 coupon) + whatever cash back's running now?

    • Does that kit work well? How does it handle having 2 different phones (ie android and apple) on car startup?

      • On ours if two people are in the car my gf (running android) and myself (iOS) it connects to the last user

        • Ok thanks! any thoughts on the kit overall?

          • @Duplicity: We haven’t had many dropouts maybe 1 in the last 6 months but others on ozbargain have issues with them. Maybe the ottocast is better according to posts in this deal but really we haven’t had much of an issue with ours in a 2022 Suzuki

  • I got this Ottocast U2 Air Pro which has been working well with iPhone in my Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4x4. My car requires a USB Y-cable to feed from the two USB slots in the car in order to power the wireless adapter. Other fellow car owners have reported this Quad Lock wireless adapter did not work in their cars.

The Ottocast is currently on sale for $99 in Amazon AU: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C9WWP2Y3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

    • Yeah Supercheap stated on product description that it may not work on Ford Ranger, Holden Colorado, Mitsubishi Pajero/Triton, Toyota 4Runner/Hilux/R

Will look into the one you suggested, thanks!

  • yea the reviews arent great and i personally know 3 people who have had them and had to return for replacements and then refunds… dud product unfortunately it seems
