Good fan but where is the deal?

  • +2

standard price? my old PC build sheet had the 6P at $46

  • +4

Standard pricing but still a good deal

For the past year, suomole and Thermalright have single-handedly destroyed the market for overpriced Noctua air coolers

    • Good product, yeah, and I would buy this but good deal based on previous or standard pricing, no.

Noctua is still the goat for poo brown builds tho to be fair.

      • Noctuas support is amazing too.

While they are doing great, they are in a different market than Noctua coolers and you definitely get more for the extra dollars you pay

I have the Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB. It is mind-blowingly good value.

  • These are very very well rated.

  • Been thinking of getting a 360mm AIO for my 7600, how comparable could this/the 7 pipe be? Was looking at EK Nucleus CR360 so might be rigged based on price difference but my room gets toasty with my current small tower cooler.

I guess neither would help ambient temps but it doesn't sustain full boost clocks as is, and I'd like to limit temps without cutting too much performance

You might have a few deg lower with an AIO, but this would be just as good if not better and have lower noise.

Using it with 5950x and at the lowest RPM as possible as I wanted to limit the amount of noise. It cools very effectively and does not get anywhere close to a worrying temps.

      • Because 7000 series push to target temp regardless of actual cooling capacity, really any cooler would be fine, it'd just be 95c at load without any tuning.

If my goal is enough cooling headroom to reduce the target temp without substantial performance loss, would an AIO be more ideal in your opinion? Though I guess its more about justifying the price difference.

My understanding could be off since I just started learning more about this as a consequence of seeing this deal

        • if you have $150 extra to spend on AIO, why not. I would rather have the extra $150 in my pocket.

I used this Thermalright cooler with my 7600x, it's a very good cooler but very noisy as well when at load.

  • This one is the top of cooling fan ever.

  • Currently have a Ryzen 5 3600, would this be good as a replacement to AMD stock and would this also be good if I upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5800x? Or am I better off getting an AIO?

  • is the phantom spirit worth the extra money?

    • +1

Legit same price if u eat 1 less burger in the future

    Price change: $47.90

  • For the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 at 47.90 I think the new Thermalright Frost Tower 120 CPU Air Cooler, 6 Heat pipes, CPU Cooler, Dual 120mm PWM Fan for 69 cents more (48.59) is a much better deal.

It appears to be the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 specification BUT with better upgraded higher quality fans (1850 RPM etc versus 1500 RPM)
