Are these worth the money of the 7x?

    Is this really worth $500?

    • Only you can truly answer this yourself, Padwan

    • If you want one set of wireless cans with mic, able to offer low latency wireless to base station and USB/USB/bluetooth connection to devices, I don't think there's a whole lot of options.

What this is doing in terms of connectivity is something more like a business headset like this https://www.simplyheadsets.com.au/plantronics-poly-savi-8220… (except that's definitely business focussed, with the landline/USB/bluetooth connectivity and DST headset connection, vs this with proprietary 2.4GHz connection and USB/USB/bluetooth).

  • Note that they have the xbox version at the same price

If you're spending $500, buy Audeze Maxwells.

    • Better audio by a fair margin I'm sure…but it's only a single dongle to the PC/console. If you really want the base station and dual USB + bluetooth…these are it. If you don't need/want that, then for sure, look elsewhere.

  • I have these paid $570 a year ago after price matching Amazon. They are a good headset but the standard earcups stick to your face after an hour of gaming. I replaced them with some other ones upping the total price to around $600.
    Is it worth?
The battery feature and dac are probably the biggest benefits. I don't use the mic but it's good and the sound quality isn't too much better than $300 headsets. So take that how you will.
I'd buy it again just for the spare battery feature.

  • I love how it's 2 batteries interchangeable. So 1 is always charged and 1 being used. You have 100% uptime of wireless use. Also batteries can be replaced as they're removable

    $466.61 on Amazon now: Amazon

    • annoyingly not the X

  • The Wicked Cushions pads for these are on discount at Amazon right now too (black version). If you want something thicker than standard, and less sticky, these seem popular.

Pretty much makes it $500 on Amazon. Not terrible.
