    • I got the same message. Refreshed the page and ordered successfully

  • Thanks OP

  • possible to use this to recharge ?

    • No, these Boost Prepaid SIM kits can only be used to bring in an existing number (port in) or start a new number.

  • I haven't noticed this before: "Cashback is qualified only for New Boost customers."
How is this enforced? And how are all those with multiple sims on the the same account getting around it?

    • I understood it as you can't port a Boost number onto that SIM as that isn't a new service, but new number (or port from other provider) is all good. Boost just has to have a +1 to the services connected to their network.

    Waiting for Cashrewards $6.5 profit

  • Is it possible to buy 13 of them at $12 each and use them over a year? Not after cash back.

    • Yes you could but there'll be other providers and other offers during the next 12 months. Many providers are half price (or less) for the first month and that's been the case for many years.

i even spun up a Ubuntu VM connected to a hotspot with boost sim over a dedicated wifi USB adaptor and still something went wrong šŸ˜…

with unused ubank debit card this time, no bananas

tried spelling errors in my address but it forced me to select one

        • +1

          That is impressive

Maybe it was the boost hotspot that triggered it

"What? You wanna use our own data to earn more money from us?!?!"

    • I'm getting that as well. I though it was due to using a prepaid credit card but got the same error using a normal one.

Custom sorting and naming of services is now available with the latest app update.

Do we need to actually insert the sim card into a phone or is it fine just to activate it online without using?

    • +1

I'd just put it into a phone and drain a couple gigs to make it look semi-legit, just for the cashback's sake

      • Wait, really? The $12 one (https://boost.com.au/products/35-prepaid-sim) says this:

        28 day expiry

50GB on first 3 recharges for new customers. 25GB on 4th recharge. Activate by 27 Nov 23 and 3rd recharge by 29 Jan 24.

So doesn't it expire 28days after it arrives? And we have to activate it by 27 Nov? Sorry for the likely stupid questions. I'm new to prepaid, it's confusing!

        • +1

          SIM pack expires Dec 2024.
Activate within 30 days of order date to receive cashback.
Activate by 27 Nov to receive bonus data.

          • +1

@jackofspade: Bonus data is permanent, not subject to any date. People asking this here and there are not familiar with it.

Old $30/$40 SP still receives bonus data upon activation.

            • @Neoika: Oh ok so that's confusing. If its 50GB regardless, what does the "Activate by 27 Nov 23" refer to?

              • @Buyer0fBargains: Merchant puts conditions on a bonus promotional offer, merchant fails to enforce said conditions.

                • @wavesgreen: Lol, so confusing! How does anyone learn to navigate this.

                  • @Buyer0fBargains: The Boost deal threads are a fixture here on OzBargain, once you've read a few you get the hang of the in's and out's.

          • @jackofspade: Oh ok I understand more now. Thank you!!

  • It says these sims need to be activated by 27 November …. what if they don't arrive in time? Do we lose the cashback?

    • If they don't arrive you don't lose the cashback you just can't use the SIM lol

      • šŸ˜† fantastic!

      • Have you not activated and got Cashback?

      • +1

Clearly says "SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering"
If Sim doesn't arrive, then best call Boost and cancel/get a refund.

        • Interesting for the older deal I already got my cashback on transaction maybe they changed terms.how would Cashrewards know you have activated or not?

          • @neonlight: Cross checks with Boost I'd expect, it's why we have to wait to get paid for most things i.e. they check with vendor (& vice versa) that criteria is met.

            • @Borg: Boost authorise the cashback to Cashrewards/Shopback, it's down to Boost if they check whether the sim was activated within 30 days.

  • 'SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG' when buying, again

Is there a guide on how to do this properly with multiple SIMS and stuff.

I'm on a different prepaid 12 month thing, will I have to port my phone number over to boost to do this?

    • I need a guide too. Iā€™d love to get away from Vodafone postpaid.

  • My current Boost prepaid plan is about to expire, I want to re-join Boost keeping my same mobile number and of course get the cashback (as a "new" customer again). Does anyone know if I can port out using a $2 SIM Pack (non-Boost mobile) without having to separately purchase any recharge credit?

  • It's a good deal for people who need to temporarily port out of Optus.

Depends on when you need to activate and expiry
