My sister went and sent her car for servicing and the dude at Braddon, ACT has confirmed that there will be a 50% off Pirelli on Black Friday. Unsure about the $100 off your next logbook promo but if it’s like the last 2 years, I’m sure it will be the same


On Friday 24 November 2023 book (a) online or by telephone with mycar between 12.01am AEDT and 11.59pm AEDT or (b) in store with mycar between 8.00am AEDT and 5.30pm AEDT for the purchase and fitment of any in stock Pirelli tyres and receive a discount of 50% off the recommended retail price of those tyres (Offer Tyres), and the Bonus Offer in paragraph 5 below, subject to these Terms and Conditions.
Offer Tyres must be booked to be fitted on a date between Monday 4 December and Tuesday 19 December 2023 or between Wednesday 3 January and Wednesday 31 January 2024. If Offer Tyres are fitted outside of these fitment periods, the full cost of all the tyres in the transaction will be payable.

    Bogus! Called 3 times, eventually got through who took my details and said will call back. They never did. Called again and of course got home. Is anyone able to book online? Everytime I select a date it fails.

    • Their internal systems were down most of the day just like the customer booking one. Said same every year. My place had about 20 people to callback once the system was running, so that maybe why you didn’t hear from them.

  • No other retailer is price matching mycar here? Bob Jane should price match and give you 10% of the difference, right?

    • It seems to vary on the specific tyre you are after and store. With many listings saying limited and you need to call. Also common that certain tyres routinely give an error when trying to add to cart.

      • ah k. My tyre type is pretty common to the local store area, big sports suvs so pretty common.

        Would love to see how many 'wrong size' tyres are ordered when the customer goes instore

  • Whenever I select the Pirelli tyres (which show as in stock) and go to select a day for the booking, all the days are greyed (for current and future months). If I select a brand of tyre (not on special), and go to select a day for the booking, I can see available days from next week. Seems a little sketchy to me. Anyone else had this problem?

      From the terms and conditions - Offer Tyres must be booked to be fitted on a date between Monday 4 December and Tuesday 19 December 2023 or between Wednesday 3 January and Wednesday 31 January 2024.

      So I am guessing that it might be booked out for these dates at the service centre that you tried but is available for any other dates. Maybe try a different service centre and see if that helps.

      • I tried other stores too with same result. E.g. When Pirelli tyres, no days available for booking, but other tyres worked ok. Ended getting the deal by calling them. Took me about 5 phone calls before I actually got to talk to someone and connection didn't drop out.

  • Got some tyres fitted at mycar , was going to pay with flybuys dollars everytime I swiped my card it came up "invalid transaction". I had more than enough flybuys dollars to cover it, anyone else had problems paying with flybuy dollars at mycar, very fustrating….

  • Went in store and got the deal as online took forever. I asked for a quote and they didn’t provide it.
    Is that normal? I’ve got a booking for 6/dec to fit the tyres but what if they can’t provide 50% deal.

      I will never skip asking price before i commit anything. If u booked this on black friday sure u will get 50% off otherwise u pay full price

    • I went to book online on Friday, almost pressed go for online payment - luckily the size i wanted didn't appear so i rang my local store spoke to Manager said what if you just take the size recommended from the car handbook ?.

      Anyway he said come in Tue ( yesterday) price was the same as online and as a bonus Amex had the " spend more than $400 get $100 back" :)

      Haven't checked tyres date code but will say they drive well ( pirelli scorpion verde) have done high speed driving ( motorway) felt much better than the old Michelins but they were ready to be swapped out.

  • I have a booking for my Tyre change on 4th Dec23 but my store has told me that no stock arrived yet, so they are not sure at this stage. Did anyone experience the same?

      Yeah I was given basically the same info. Stock unlikely to arrive by Monday and will likely be sometime in the next few weeks. They'll call when it's in.

      I booked mine for 4th Dec, I called on Monday to see if I could get it done sooner.
      The central office said the store had the tyres in stock, transferred me to the store I booked with, they said no tyres yet, they will call people end of this week/next week.
      I guess I'll call Monday morning to confirm it's good to go.

    Twas booked in this morning, turned up before 8am opening hour.
    First told , gotta wait till 4 Dec.
    Okay - walked out to car, MyCar had a change-of-heart. P7 205/50 r17 93V, date stamp: 17week 2023 , x4 tyres, $548 fitted ( no wheel alignment )
    Picked up car 10:30am

  • Can't say I'm terribly happy with my experience so far. Made my order 7am the morning of the sale.
    Had booked in next week Monday for fitment. Got a phonecall today to say that my stock won't be arriving until first week of January. My current tyres are basically at the tread mark.
    So basically I either keep using tyres that need to be badly replaced, or go somewhere else, and lost the opportunity of taking advantage of a different retailer's BF sale.

      Bit of a joke really. Why have such a specific sale and no play games stating no stock and holding my money.

  • Same, I've called them in advance this morning to confirm and they said just bring the car in. I asked again when arrived and they still said all good, and just asked for pick-up time and suggested doing the wheel alignment etc.
    After 3 hours, got a call to come to pick it up since no stock. Waste of time and effort.

    It's a lesson and I will not participate in this deal in the coming years. Also, lost the opportunity to other BF sales.
    Should have picked the 35% off Yokohama by Bob Jane instead.

  • As others have said, it's bit of a shambles.
    Went to mycar at lunch for my booking (knew I could of called but had to go to the shops anyway).
    There were 2 staff who were dedicating their day to trying to fix up the orders. That being seeing what tyres had been delivered to the store and what bookings they had, basically a big stack of orders printed out trying to match tyres to orders, calling customers saying when they could come in or telling them not to. They hadn't got to my order yet, so I hadn't been called yet.
    They said they're getting deliveries each day and would call me tomorrow. Ensured me they would come as I have paid/booked and were apologetic.
    This is my first time ordering the deal and I expected I might have issues, so long as I eventually get the tyres as the deal is worth a little stuffing around as I actually wanted these particular tyres and next cheapest was tempe tyres at $66 per tyre more. (also didn't want to deal with tempe).
    I would say if you have a booking today or in the next few days, worth calling the store if they haven't called you to see if they have them as there's a good chance they won't.
    Mycar needs to fix the deal. They shouldn't take bookings from 4th December, they should of made it 11th or later, because the supply chain and stores can't get it sorted in a week.

      Just picked up the car. There is a huge line of people coming to pick up their cars because no stock. What a chaos!

      The guy in my store said there is no more delivery for December with the earliest one will be 3 January, so don't hope for tomorrow.
      I rebooked for 9 of Jan but highly doubt they will get stock then.

      It's 2023 and Mycar still do it manually and there is no management of bookings and stocks at all.

      I doubt they do it on purpose to steal as many customers as possible on the BF sales and try to tell them to fit other tyres since no stocks later.

    I got my tyres installed this morning. Dropped off my car at 8 and collected it at 10. The guy did say i was one of the lucky ones as he had to call customers to them the stock had not arrived.

    4x powergy XL 99V fitted today…top notch service very happy with the tyres and no reservations whatsoever going the powergy
    manager reckons 60K km if you look after them
    bonus is free puncture repair for the life of the tyres and free balance in 6 months. sweet!

    ….just read all you other guys are getting stuffed around. pretty shit thats the case….and now extra pleased my fitting went without a hitch

    Dropped off at 12pm (didn’t call) and was ready by 1:30pm despite the mechanic saying it might take longer due to BF deal and around lunch time.

    Phone was ringing nonstop and the mechanic said they didn’t have capacity to answer phone at the moment.

    Anyway happy with service at Doncaster mycar. Got the 21555R17 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7

    Was booked in for tomorrow, got a call from the garage on Friday stating that the tyres would not arrive until the 3rd of January. Rebooked in for then. Shame but what can you do?

  • Did people get a wheel alignment printout report with Mycar? Got my tyres fitted today with added $89 wheel alignment. However, they're unable to provide a printout for the alignment.

        No, my wife dropped the car off the went to shopping in the nearby shopping center. Later told me that Mycar are unable to provide any printout for the alignment, what's even worst is when I got home and checked the tyres. They aren't the ones I ordered! Has the correct tyre description on the invoice, but different tyres fitted to the car.

        Called the guy and he apologies saying the technician would have grabbed the wrong tyres by mistake. Went in again yesterday to get the tyres re-fitted. Got home in the afternoon, checked the tyres are wrong again! Seems very dodgy service to me….

          Crikey how many attempts do they need to provide what you paid for.
          BTW what Pirelli's did you order and what have they been fitting? Asking so they don't try the same stunt when I go in.

          It also doesn't sound that promising that they actually did any aligning, If I was you I'd ask them to do it "again" while you're there as a sign of goodwill because they've messed you around so much.

            @alidli: I ordered and paid for Pirelli Scorpion Verde VOL variant, I think around rrp 425?

            Tyres fitted was Scorpion Verde All Season rrp 399, which actually have different tyre pattern to it. Since I’m in QLD, I don’t really need the snow capability, plus I think the all season tyres will be noisy on highway, that’s why I paid a little extra for the VOL variant.

      Even when they give the report, I still have no idea how to read it.

        I think if you pay for the service, then they should provide a report on alignment clearly outlining the before/after values for toe, camber, caster.

        If you do the alignment properly on the machine, the machine should automatically print that information too.

  • Thought I'd share my experience. Tried to book prior to Black Friday, however the guy said he couldn't book however he could order the tyres, and I'd need to come in and book the next day. But he did say it was insane and essentially pot luck. So I stayed up late and tried to book online. Of course the website crapped it self. So I went to bed. Woke around 3am and decided to give it a go. Wam bam it was done. Booked for 4th December for 4x Pirelli Scorpion Verde 235/60/18 and an alignment.

    Was concerned with comments that people had turned up to be told didn't have them. Well dropped it off a 8am this morning, told it'll be ready in about two hours. Around 10am I get a next to say its ready. So all done and dusted.

    You'd have thought that as this is their third Black Friday offer, that MyCar could reasonably anticipate the amount of tyres they'd shift on the day and sort out the stock and deliveries with Pirelli waaaaay beforehand. If my order keeps getting postponed or cancelled I'll be well p*ssed.

    Didn’t receive any communication before hand that the tyres did not arrive yet. Went this morning only to be told that they don’t have an ETA on when it will arrive.

    Original booking was Monday but already called me on Saturday not to come in and wait for updates.

    Still waiting for confirmation on when my tyres will be in stock despite booked fitment for Monday this week!

    Once they do fit, I will be telling them to cancel the wheel alignment/refund it and will go elsewhere for this.

    We all know that’s where they make their money on deals like this and after the rubbish service they won’t be getting an extra cent from me!

  • I booked tue to replaced tyre. Got call on monday afternoon to tell me no stock. It will arrive soon. My rego will expire next week and i need replace the tyre to pass rego inspection. GOD BLESS

    Got a call today about my booking tomorrow as my tyres have not arriving from their warehouse. I asked what are the chances if they show up tomorrow they just said could be late Jan or early Feb and they were unable to rebook until they have physically arrived. I still think they shouldnt sell something they know they are going to have stock problems with. Like the airlines allowing us to book cancelled flights. Payed in full online so actually the money would have been better in my pocket instead of theirs.

    Today, I bring my car following booking time, and the store manager at MyCar Keysborough told me these tyres not fit my car and I need to change another tyres with pay more money, it's so disappointed and I requested to refund.

    I got my set of 4 x Powergy fitted today. When I dropped it off, they said they were running a little behind schedule, however I left there at 10 and had a text at 11.30am saying it was ready to pick up. No complaints from me!

    Finally went back and had my rear ones put on. Not happy that front are 2323 mf date and rear are 4123 which are much newer.

    Also the manager sais black friday sale they are losing money on this deal. All they want is to collect customer data. Sounds dodgy sh|ts to me.

  • Got Called yesterday afternoon, tyres came in, they said I can get them done today, couple hours this morning all done with alignment. Got the alignment print out, definitely needed to be done.
    5 days after my original booking it got sorted, head office needs to refine the process, but it was worth it for the saving and minor inconvenience of delayed fitting.

  • Got it done this morning, took 4hours (drop off at 8am and pickup at 12pm) and alignment cost extra $89.. not very happy.. took so long.. and they are definitely quite rough, as the rims are having scratches after..

    This was a brilliant deal. I've been able to get two cars done and it was a smooth process booking on the site through to getting the tyres fitted. No issues with stock, rocked up at appointment time, was sent an SMS a few hours later to pick up when ready. This was at MyCar in Adelaide CBD. Convenient location as I essentially used it as free parking for the day so technically 'saved' nearly $20 on parking too.

    my partner had her booking in for today. she gets there, drops the car off, gets home and they call her saying they've ordered the wrong type of tyre for her. they dont have any stock, and can put their own brand tyres on the car for the same price (ridiculous). she goes back later and picks it up and they say they wont have the pirelli's in for over 6 months and for her to think it over. i'm pretty pissed off that they've gone about it this way. any ideas on what to do?

      Insist on like for like replacement. Not dodgy Kmart brand tyres. Speak to CS at head office if necessary

  • Got my tyres replaced just fine last week. $89 alignment on top.
    Got my servicing done as well yesterday. Problem was they forgot about the $100 BF discount. Will be chasing that up.

  • How difficult do MyCar make it to refund this deal?

    They told me 3 weeks to get stock in and I’m thinking to cancel if they drag it out to next year.
