Cricut Maker 3 $555 with Free Delivery (Free VIP Membership Required) @ Spotlight

110

Last time I posted a Spotlight deal, some people came looking for Cricut deals! This deal is (hopefully) for you.

I got an email this morning that all machines are on sale. The best deal seems to be the Cricut Maker 3 special.

You can check out all machines here (note: the prices displayed are before extra money off. Click though to view discounted price)

Unfortunately doesn’t stack with the TAKE40 discount code currently running.

Kyletsai got it cheaper with following method:
“Had Officeworks price matched with further 5% off. Plus some 3% off ultimate gift cards (not at the highest discount cause in a bit of hurry to get it while we are in town).
Worked out to be just over $500.”

  • Can people share what they make or what they aspire to make with the Cricut. It looks cool.

IDK, I read the reviews and the proprietary consumables and $15 monthly subscription are just the start of the endless downsides.

I see people making cards, tshirts and mugs and the like

I've been using an Silhuoette, which doesn't have that monthly lock or nor proprietary stuff (besides maybe the tool cutters) if that floats your boat.

My wife does a whole lot with hers. Greeting cards (both cut versions and drawn versions with a pen attachment), name labels for the kid's stuff, labelling things as gifts or party favours, tags for gift bags, vinyl decals for laptops, etc.. We pay the subscription because it's an easy way to access a lot of stuff that doesn't require more technical graphic design knowledge and $15 is a small price for the amount of time it saves. The first party consumables are "better" (Smart vinyl, etc.) but we use plenty of third party materials without any fuss (sticky sheets from 3rd parties on Amazon, 3rd party vinyl from amazon and a local reseller).

What is the subscription for? I have a Cricut maker. Only used a little. But imported my own image and own fonts. There was no issue. Is it new?

you can make heaps of stuff but for me I primarily like to make vinyl stickers or Heat Transfer Vinyls (which are able to be heat pressed onto a shirt). Subscription is not necessary unless you want access to their library of templates. In terms of consumables, you don't have to get the cricut brand, I use other brands which are cheaper and work just as good. If you're into craft and creative, it's definitely worth an investment.

Personally, making greeting cards is way too time consuming for me so I haven't really bothered.
