Gaming PC: RTX 4070 Ti, 7800X3D, 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, ATX B650, WiFi 6E, BT5.3 $2599 + Delivery ($0 MEL C&C) + Surcharge @ Evatech

With all the gaming PCs listed here recently, we thought we'd throw our hat in the ring and see how we fare.

Surcharges: 0% Visa / Master / Direct Deposit, 2% AmEx, 2.6% PayPal.

Is it the cheapest 4070 Ti gaming PC listed here? Nope… but it spec'd out with much higher end / premium components across the board, a higher end chipset motherboard and has some nice bonus features like WiFi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3 as standard. Try spec'ing out an equivalent with the competition and we're pretty confident we'll come out ahead. This is a fixed spec. We're not trying to get you in the door with the bare bones entry level set of options only to try and milk you when you try to add more storage, WiFi, RAM etc. You can choose to add Windows 11 or an extra SSD to cart alongside the PC and we'll install it for you at no extra cost, but that's it.

Pick up welcome but please order online first and wait for the 'ready for pick up' email. They're in stock ready to go, so shouldn't take long to prep / dispatch from order.

^ We've installed the perforated 'high air flow' front panel, but it comes with the tempered glass alternative in the box so you can take your pick. The high air flow panel is definitely our recommendation!

~ No we cannot install Windows 10 or 11 and provide it unlicensed. Any reseller that offers this is in breach of Microsoft's T&Cs. Yes, license keys are cheaper to be found online, but anyone selling a Windows 11 license significantly below what we list them at is losing a lot of money or sourcing from unofficial channels. As for retail vs OEM licenses, we recommend retail as it's transferable in the future to your next PC and gives you access to Microsoft customer support directly should you have any issues. The OEM version does not give you direct access to Microsoft support, and is not transferable.

Warranty

Rest assured we're not some start up sole-trader offering warranties 3x longer than they've been in business. Not naming names, but we've seen a lot of those come and go over the last decade. Our team has been cranking out PC builds since early 2013 and we offer a per component 'up to' 5 year warranty. Simply meaning for this period of time, if the component manufacturer's warranty is still valid, we take care of it and in the rare exception a product has a less than 2 year warranty, we'll cover the 2 years as a minimum. In this build you'll get the full 5 year warranty on the RAM, SSD & PSU. 3 years on the GPU, CPU, CPU cooler and motherboard, and 2 years on the chassis and fans.

Click & collect from Keysborough VIC HQ welcome although please order online first and await your ready for pick up confirmation email. This offer is not available over the counter and orders may require a little bit of prep time depending as we perform a final round of QA checks before dispatch.

Nice PC, I’d get if I was using Wifi

With Techfast and others I wanted Wifi as an option + upgraded CPU (didnt want the min spec CPU)

I feel like this is a good build if you don’t want min spec everything but GPU

  • +8

no offense, i would say the BPC tech 4080 deal was better "value". But it is expired so whatever.

4070 ti and 4080 has a 600-700 price difference right now. So you might consider even at 3,299, it is the better deal?

BTW BPC tech has 4070TI+136K CPU for 2399, and 7600 CPU for 2319.

Both i would argue are good as this deal. Unless you really want a 7800X3D

  • Yeah this is basically identical in specs and parts quality to the recent BPC deal for $3,099 but with a worse GPU.
Given the price difference of $500 between the two builds and the average price difference between RTX 4070 Ti and the RTX 4080, the BPC offer was better value.

    • +14

That is one way to look at it.. and that BPC deal (if your budget stretched that far) was undoubtably a good one although it seems to have ended.

In terms of raw gaming performance the price difference and actual average frame rates you'll be getting are more or less the same % (+/- 20%) so both deals you could say are roughly equal in terms of bang for buck.

They're also offering a flat 2 year warranty, so we have a bit of an advantage there too… I'm pretty sure our case selection also has a strong airflow advantage, especially over the Gamdias Talos E2 case they were offering there. That's just nit picking though. Can't deny if that was the price range you were shopping in, it would have been tough to beat!

        • +24

feisty… but don't worry. If you purchased that BPC offer (which it sounds like you might have) you got a good deal. No need to defend it.

First off, the FPS difference between the RTX 4070 Ti and the RTX 4080 can be as high as 30% in certain titles

In certain titles, sure. But in certain titles way less? Looks like the 14 game average at the bottom of the page you linked there has the 4080 just 5-14% depending on the resolution. All we meant to say is, that this PC on a dollar per frame basis, on average at least is pretty compelling even when you compare against BPCs 4080 deal.

Either way, it's still an RTB warranty and they're always a massive pain in the ass whenever you need to make a warranty claim as you're left without your PC for however long it takes for the warranty/RMA case to be resolved.

Sure, RTB is a pain. All warranty is a pain for all involved and if all goes well you'll be lucky and never have to go through it! That being said… if someone was to buy our PC here and their power supply, or SSD or RAM fails in October of 2028, we'll take care of it.

Your build's parts list doesn't appear to have any customisability or upgrade options whereas BPC are quite flexible and happy to swap in whatever custom options buyers want. I'd say that's also strong advantage in BPC's favour.

Can't argue with that… what's the lead time from order like? Sounds like maybe they're building them to order while ours are actually ready to go right now. Orders this evening should ship tomorrow morning and if they're going to anywhere in metro Melbourne / Sydney / Adelaide / Canberra (or maybe even Brisbane) arrive by Thursday. You could also just order for pick up and have it within under an hour (during business' hours of course). But sure, we'll concede that getting it a bit quicker is not as advantageous as the ability to customize for something you'll own for years.

Really do hope you enjoy your new BPC PC though if you did buy it :)

          truce?

          • +24

@evatech: FWIW - You are behaving incredibly respectful and have made very balanced/fair assessments whilst showing respect to one of your competitors

Not many reps that post their deals on here can say the same thing. Salute to you sir.

            • +2

@Dyson8r: To be fair Nebula rep is also very respectful.

          • -1

@evatech: If you think I'm the one with a problem here because I'm asking some basic questions about your build that you seem unable to answer and offering some mild criticism that you're unable to refute, then I don't know why you're posting deals on OzBargain to begin with if you're expecting nothing but sycophantic praise.

I don't know what's worse here, the fact that a vendor who's basically copy-pasted a competitor's system (in this case BPC's) and then changed one or two parts around and touts it as the second coming is acting so precious about their fairly mediocre, late-to-the-party deal or the fact that OzBargain's standards for a bargain are apparently so low that if a rep simply has decent grammar/formatting and responds to a few comments, he's immediately idolised despite the fact that the deal itself is average at best.

            Unreal.

Gotta love that wildly-swinging OzBargain pendulum of community consensus that fluctuates drastically between deals. I've seen other vendors get absolutely roasted for some minor, nit-picky BS about one component not being up to some neckbeard's insane standards when the build itself is amazing value and yet Evatech just browse OzBargain and go "Let's copy one of the top-voted gaming PC deals and slap on a little discount, that'll do" and the lemmings go wild.

This forum really does make you feel like Roddy Piper in They Live sometimes.

And full disclosure: I've never purchased a single thing from BPC but on the basis of this tantrum from their rep, I definitely won't be buying anything from Evatech either.

            • @Miami Mall Alien: I got your back bro. I commend you for having the courage to express your opinion regardless of of sensibility. Keep on my man

        • Chill out, bro

          • -1

@Wildesy: Don't you dare throw a tantrum. He won't buy from you.

    • At least a 4070ti can fit in most cases, the 4080 size is a bloody joke

    • +5

Well I like the effort they've put into the post. No will + it just for that

    • Terrible? geez mate, take it down a notch, BPC you had to upgrade, ssd, RAM and motherboard - so you are looking at $3200 + for a 4080
this is a pretty good set up if you wanted this card,
If they do it for the same $$ when 4070ti super comes out, then its a steal

      • BPC you had to upgrade, ssd, RAM and motherboard - so you are looking at $3200 + for a 4080

No, the base price of $3,099 includes an RTX 4080 hence the performance-per-dollar ratio beats out Evatech's deal. Read the deal again, it's not complicated.

    • +1

I wouldn't say it's terrible far from. But if you look at BPC's current 4070 Ti PC (Siren Vortex BF23). I'd say with a few add-ons it beats this, and still comes in under the price tag of this.

I don't want to take away from this deal by direct linking. But if you're looking at this price point. I'd probably look at BPC's offers at this price point or slightly under.

Also consider, BPC did have some issues earlier this year.

      • Issue with bpc is that if you open up the computer they can void the warranty,
They install tamper proof seal so if you wanna swap out a part or add ssd you can land in trouble

        • Honestly at the 2.5k range, for me personally, I'd just have them add the extra drive or whatever now and never open the thing till my next pc. At which point I generally just palm my old rig off to the wife or the old man.

          • @Testeagle: yeah I know but I have like 4 SSDs :)
all in good working order so its at least $500 there I would lose

  • +1

waiting for the RX 7800XT or a 4070 build. Wish it was $100 cheaper for $1599.

    • Have you checked out Nebulas 7800XT deal?

      • Yes, the price is too high when you go to upgrade other components other than getting the bare minimum. Evatech seems to have better base components.

        • +1

might as well wait few more months for the new super cards to come out,it should push the price down on these GPUs or for the same $$ you should be able to pick up an upgrade

          • @botchie: You reckon 4090 prices will dip? Given that the 4080 super will only be slightly better than the 4080

            • @terroz: nah, 4090 doesnt have competition , no need to drop the $$

        • +1

Yeah I mentioned this exact thing on their post and copped 22 negs, lol.

They paired a 7800XT with scraps basically.

          • @Grish: NebularPC is the darling of gaming-pc hence be mindful of the tone-of-your-comments @ their-posts.

Yes, he under-spec his systems with low-tier parts: pricing just above TF's deals: & hence require upgrade, eg Mobo with weak-VRM, tower-cooler etc.

  • Not bad

  • +1

    Looks pretty good to me.

I would probably have aimed for CL30 or CL32 RAM and definately a PCIe 4 nvme (and pref 2TB too).

If only the 4070Ti was 16GB, then it would be almost perfect.

    • yeah, I wanna see the new 4070ti supers and how they fare

      • +1

The issue will be the cost though

        • they should be the same price - "should be" - i think at first it might be up a little then it will come down to this
who knows, the GPU prices are still way to high for some reason, at least in the past we could blame it on mining

    • Ah yes I agree. I think the SSD be at least gen 4 and not gen 3…. I wonder if they can change it to improve the deal.

  • +10

You'll never please everyone on this site…

    • +2

Looks way more balanced than most the builds we see here.

      What you not pleased with?

      • not me as such, more every single post by a shop gets shit on by the "experts"… this bloke could sell it for $800 and he'd still cop shit from people.

    • +1

That is true, but for noobs like me. It's good to get opinions across the board including if people think its bad deal. It does help..

      • Also, some people tend to mistake construction criticism for more of a personal attack.

    • -1

I find the 'computer nerd' crowd the hardest to please. They're just miserable all the time, looking for anything to be neg about.

    • -2

Got a 13700f 4080 build for $2100 and still couldn’t please everyone cause it’s Alienware

  • It is such a shame that GPUs got hit hard by mining and now AI.

    • May be read through the hype & mis-information … it's all over the net & compliment of the gaming-industry 🤔

  • Looks like a solid option, unfortunately I already purchased elsewhere.

For me this particular build would have been great as I'm not so savvy with the individual manufacturers and don't have a lot of time to research so having it pre-specced with higher end parts is a good idea IMHO.

    • +1

With the constant bombardment of gaming pc 'deals' being posted on this site, we're not surprised!

Hope you're loving what PC you ended up with,

but if not.. next time you're in the market for a new one maybe give us a call ;)

      • I just might! I am in the same boat, I was waiting for an amazing 4070TI deal like this one at the time but instead settled for a 4070, next time Evatech!

      • Credit to NebularPC for customisations & customer-services…this niche-market was UN-tap & buyers' requirements are SO-wide. It helps for being small, nimble & working long-hours.

TF is not interested due to high staffing-costs, while BPC is still-trying…

        • We actually began with a sole focus on custom built to order PCs way back in 2013 and have been doing it ever since.

We were first to market in Australia with a online custom PC builder experience that wasn't just adding a bunch of components to cart along side 'please assemble this' product before you checked out. We were also the first (in the world as far as we can find at least) that did automatic real time compatibility checking and game performance indicators.

You can check our online custom PC builder > Intel / AMD

  • If there is something wrong with the PC and we are not from VIC, do we have to send the entire thing back to your HQ. How does it work? Thanks

    • +2

All depends on the nature of the issue but we work with customers to make the entire process as painless as possible.

The first step is always to assist in troubleshooting and try to understand what the exact root cause of the problem is. Often times it's not a hardware fault at all and we can get it all resolved with a few tips and tricks via email.

Other times we can identify which of the components is faulty and from there figure out the best options to move forward is. If the customer is comfortable removing and shipping back just the faulty component, (be it RAM, SSD, GPU etc) and re-install it once a new one arrives, it's quiet often a lot easier than shipping the PC back and forth! That being said, if they're not comfortable with that process we're always happy to take the entire system back and deal with it on our end.

On the rare occasion shipping the entire PC back is necessary, we encourage all customers to (where possible) retain the original packaging as this will be the safest easiest way to get it back to us. We can even assist with arranging courier collection by TNT once it's all safely packed up and sealed.

In most cases were stock is available we issue advanced replacements, meaning you don't have to wait for us to ship a faulty product back to the distributor / manufacture and wait for them to return a repaired unit or replacement. This cuts 2-3 weeks out of the turn around time when it's possible.

In addition to all that, we do extensive burn in testing on all our systems to catch all the possible faults that could be present before they're ever shipped. That being said faults can occur after time, but to mitigate this as much as possible we keep extensive RMA records on all the products we sell and veto future use of all models or even brands if they repeat offend / fail at an above average rate.

Absolute worst case scenario which we have to stress is very very rare, if you've ditched the original packaging and a component in your system has failed that is discontinued, no longer in stock and a suitable compatible replacement is readily available and you need to send the entire system back to us… You'll be responsible for sourcing your own suitable packaging to safely pack the system up, then wait a few weeks while the manufacturer handles the replacement or repair before we can ship it back to you again. It always sucks when this occurs and we do our best to expedite the process where we have the means to do so.

Great build! How much will it cost without the SSD?

  • A new challenger has entered the battle!

  • How many USB 3 ports?

    • 8x at the rear (7x Type-A, 1x Type-C) plus two more Type-A on the front of the case :)

  • It's been a long while since I've had a desktop PC, so maybe I'm out of the loop. But what's the value of a watercooled system when (apparently) the CPU isn't open to overclocking?

    • +5

For the most part modern CPUs are not really worth overclocking. Very modest gains to be had, but a lot of risk of instability and often big upfront investments in fancy coolers and higher end motherboards to make a proper go at it. It's fun if you're an enthusiast, but not justifiable from a value perspective at all.

That being said, the reason modern CPUs are not really worthwhile to overclock manually, is that they all have some sort 'boost' functionality in which they pretty aggressively 'auto-overclock' for lack of a better word modulated by their operating temperature. If you have a better cooler on these higher end CPUs, you're giving it a bit more thermal headroom and it will boost a little higher for a little longer and you'll get better performance.

    • For me, it's about minimising/eliminating the noise.

Modern CPU's (specifically higher end ones) can get pretty toasty, regardless of overclocking. Air coolers can get pretty noisy depending on your temperature/fan curve preferences. Swapping over to an AIO/water cooler will usually result in much, much less noise, with equally better cooling performance.

(The exact same can be said for GPUs too, FYI.)

      • Have to be careful with what AIO’s you get though, any Asetek ones tend to have some pump noise that makes them louder than air coolers

      • Swapping over to an AIO/water cooler will usually result in much, much less noise, with equally better cooling performance.

This is not true at all.

The radiators of almost all AIO CPU water coolers have at a minimum 2 fans, most commonly 240mm - 360mm and quite often 3 fans these days. At best, they'll be as loud as a cheaper CPU air cooler (especially if you're comparing a cheap AIO cooler to a higher-end air cooler, like a Noctua), at worst they'll be louder. The positioning of the radiator in most cases means the fan noise is relatively much closer to the listener and a lot less muffled compared to the placement of a CPU air cooler.

Most air cooler fans are 120mm and they'll have 2 fans at the very most but it's primarily the central position of a CPU air cooler in a case and the fact that with the right case, sound absorption really inhibits the propagation of CPU cooler fan noise out of the case significantly.

Water cooling is and always has been highly overrated unless you're spending big bucks on expensive custom loops which dramatically blow out the cost of any build. You can save a decent amount of money and still achieve the same idle/load temperatures with a ~$100 air cooler for all but the most insane builds that have huge OCs on the CPU. The ThermalRight Peerless Assassin 120 SE or Deepcool AK620 will handle any current CPU as well as AIO water coolers that cost more than twice their price and they're quieter than almost all low-to-mid range AIO water coolers (check the benchmarks in those links) plus they only cost $60 - $70 dollars currently.

  • Wondering if you'd offer the option to change a component or two - to something else from your website?

For example, looking at the "SKY ONE RYZEN R5/RX7800XT GAMING PC" build you mentioned at the bottom of your post, could I change the case to a montech sky two case and pay the difference?

    Thanks!

    • +1

Officially, and for everyone else reading this comment : sorry, no. They're pre-built, fixed spec. Can add, but can't swap out components.

      .

      .

      .

Unofficially . Email us if you're really keen we might be able to work it out. Not sure all 24pc of that spec we're building for tomorrows deal has been assembled yet although if not, they will be tomorrow. Assuming we get it sorted out before the last one is built, it might be something we can work out for you.

  • Unable to pay via PayPal? Was looking to use their pay in 4.

Edit: Did not realise how close you guys were to me. 5-10 minute drive lol

    • We have PayPal as an option at checkout but I think the pay in 4 option is limited to orders $2000 and below?

      • Nvm forgot about that. Appreciate your response!

  • What's the catch? how / why is it $300 cheaper than pc part picker prices? and how would one go about adding the extra ssd?

    • some retailers buy their goods in bulk so heavy discounts are applied from their suppliers.

  • Reealllllly keen for the 7800XT build tomorrow. Love that you're in Melbourne too - a lot of the others are interstate and the thought my new PC arriving munted because it got yeeted across the continent passing through warehouses and trucks is quite distressing.

  • Seems nice enough. Other prebuilts may offer better raw specs to price but the parts they are using here seems of decent quality to say the least.

Would have at least preferred a better drive in here however, seems the 'cheapest component' in here between the top end cpu and everything.

  • Perfect. Have been waiting on this deal. Ordered. Thanks Evatech!

  • This rep is making a good impression so far. Nice work my good sir.

Will you be offering a 4070 deal? Very interested in the built you guys are offering instead of requiring to upgrade from base deal that most offers here however also looking for something a little budget friendly with a 4070. Thanks.

I assumed everyone was wanting to max out the ever-wholesome Minesweeper, is there something else worth playing?

    • It's not too crazy, chuck Cyberpunk on extreme settings with 4K ray tracing and you'll be thinking to yourself you need an upgrade lol

  • Is it considered future-proof to consider upgrading a build like this to a higher (1000w) PSU? I always thought that for a build using 7800X3d and 4070/4070/7800XTX it would require something beefy or is 750w considered enough?

  • Less than 24 hours and its sold out. Well there's still the BPC deal active for the 4080
