      for rich fat nerds.

      • +5

Rich nerds are usually very very very rich

        • And very very very fat! Well in the movies anyway, but usually all the movie ones are dirt poor. 😅

    • -4

As if paying 2.5k for any watch isn't stupid.

      • +2

looks at my GS - oops

        • +2

GS is the best. SO nice, I got the new diver recently. SLGA015

          • +1

@Bruno28: Congrats. GS is the best watch out there non biased***
            * might be biased

@maverickjohn: My snowflake is my favourite watch I never wear

              • +1

@rosebank: I never bought the snowflake lol. I was pissed I didn't get the Australian limited edition. I left my name 1 hour after it opened and I was still too late

            • +1

@maverickjohn: when i first got into watches i was like GS which is a fancier Seiko for over 7k???? People are crazy…. Now i own a few and after my first i saw what its all about.
When you experience it, look up close and compare the timing specs, you see why GS is much more refined than any other brand. Everyone talks about Rolex, but thats just marketing and the show off status. A real collector would see what its all about.

GS is one of my favorite brands, its on the Top 3.

@Bruno28: I played with a few of the new 5 day pr ones in Tokyo. Great choice

            • +2

@rosebank: Yeah its amazing and the accuracy is isnane.

          • @Bruno28: SBGN023 bought in Japan in September, limited to 2021, not that that mattered to me.

      • I laugh, cause ive owned quite a few watches and made money from ever single one ive owned and sold in order to acquire a new one. I get to enjoy, make money and when i get bored get a new one.
$2500 is nothing for a good watch.

        • Most watches don't appreciate sale price though so you must pick well or be lucky and also not beat the hell out of them. Either way well done.

      • +1

Dude 5 of my watches are over that price. And honestly there is no regret whatsoever. They are simply much better than my other watches. I have $1300 seikos which are just not as good.
You get what you pay for even in watch world. If you are happy wearing a cheap watch than kudos to you. Just don't bring down others who really appreciate this with your incorrect beliefs.

Yeah, send a kid to uni or wear a penis replacement on your wrist. Then get stroppy when people call you on it.

          • @Joker042:

            send a kid to uni

Lol, what uni degree do you know of that costs $2,000 or less these days?

I don't think that would pay for even one day of tuition at TAFE let alone a decent university.

          • @Joker042: Or you can do both. Don't get so uptight. You need to chill. I'm just telling you not to dismiss people who make the choice to buy them and you reply with snarky comments. You need to get yourself a life buddy.

            • +1

@maverickjohn: Bit late for that. Life got him so butt hurt I don't think those cheeks are loosening up again

      • +1

Its not - actually all my over $2.5k watches are now worth what or more than I paid. Its like money in the bank, but on your wrist.
Plenty of other things that loose all or most of its value which people spend money on.
At least with a lot of watches, they have resale value.
So not so stupid - maybe a bit extravagant and unnecessary

    • On this, I agree. Particularly when it comes to digital Casio.
As mentioned before there is only one Casio series I may buy and it's the oceanus https://www.casio.com/us/watches/oceanus/
Even then there's heaps cheaper than this

Idk it’s no $996.23 joker invicta

  • Is it $1 per printed character?
My sums might be slightly off.

  • Looks very nice, but not seventeen hundred nice. :D

  • Are Casio still only MM/DD? I really hate that you can't change that to DD/MM

    • +1

Might depend on the watch. I have a GW-B5600HR and the CASIO app allows for changing the display to DD/MM, however my GX-56BB is stuck on the default MM/DD.

The overwhelming majority are save for newer models with the smartphone link feature that can detect your region and adjust the date format accordingly.

Despite being a Japanese corporation, Casio is extremely US-oriented in their product design/marketing as the US is their largest market, so they opt to use whatever timekeeping standards/preferences the Americans use (e.g. MM-DD and Sunday being the starting day of the week, as per US tradition).

    • These will do DD/MM. They actually have the same quartz module as Casio GW-B5600 which are ~200.

  • God Tier Watch - as Nico Leonard would refer to it.
