Suggest you do some reading on DWI before you purchase, read the comments in this previous deal

Nice deal, but DWI, sorry OP, but noone should be buying anything from them ever.

    • Care to share why? Are they no good these days?
I bought my photographics equipments from them half a year ago and thought they were fantastic. Warranty is probably a pain, but that's about the same for every online store.

see foorbar's comment. Honestly, it's right up there.

Happened to me yesterday too, honestly I think I'm invisible sometimes…

        • Sorry, my bad. Was just looking at the negative comment shaw posted.

      • they didnt honour the deal after clients paid the moblies and replied very rudely when the clients chased up their order.

also, the photographics equipments and mobiles seems to be totally different departments. no major daram have been heard yet.

        • yeah every thread I have seen about DWI basically boils down to two sides:
"I've had no problems at all when I bought my photography equipment"
"I have had no end of problems when I bought my mobile phone"

So y12345678's comment about two different internal departments (phones vs photography) sounds likely.

  • when it is too good to be true then it is not :D

Site looks pretty dead to me — taking over a minute to load.

Have never bought from DWI before although my dealing with one of their REP is "unpleasant". I won't disclose the details lest them accusing me violating their own interpretation of privacy policy.

I was planning to buy one. Sorry, Not anymore. well, i think these kinds of comments and customers walking away would help them to come out of their sleep and start giving a better service….

I've shopped with DWI before, actually bought about $5,000 worth of stuff from them over the years. Their customer service back then was very good, however just take a look over at the Whirlpool forums, or any other photography forum for that matter and you'll see that there has been a serious deterioration in their customer service and some incredibly shady business practices been implemented.

They've tried to mitigate some of the damage to their reputation by furiously censoring their Facebook page, and getting a rep to defend them on internet forums. This rep basically just launches personal attacks at people who complain about the business and divulges their personal details, its insane to watch and really popcorn worthy.

The worst most heart breaking story I've heard is a guy bought a 70-200mm f2.8 L lens from them, they asked him to pay by bank deposit, which he complied, and then the item went 'missing' in shipping. DWI blame FedEx. No worries the guy thought, I paid extra for the shipping with insurance. Turns out the insurance was only to the value of $100, DWI didn't even give him the $100, they gave him $100 dollars store credit. He paid by bank deposit so he couldn't even initiate a charge back. Guy is out of pocket 2 grand thanks to DWI.

    Seriously don't buy from them.
