ihphone 15 series must be selling soooooo well
Picked one up today and could barely move around the Apple Store there were so many people in there
And then everyone clapped their hands
And then you woke up, in a cold sweat, whispering, "I can see sheeple."
@Daabido: I know you can sleep well tonight after expressing your view on the matter
You're out of touch. Certain iPhone models are genuinely out of stock. Pro Max's always sell well.
Not sure what you're trying to say. They are. Pro Max's are out of stock as expected.
Someone convince me to buy this.
I usually get $300 android phones, and that seems to work for me as I upgrade every 4-5 years, but it would be nice to get something nicer.
I'd only get an iPhone if someone could make an economic argument for it. I was half thinking that it might make economic sense if you were to sell 2nd hand every 3-4 years, but I'm not sure if that's equivalent to just spending $300 on a phone with no resell value.
If you can make a $300 phone last 5 years then I don’t think there’s any economic case to be made here. Get an iPhone if you prefer it, but it will certainly lose more than $300 worth of value on the used market after that time.
Salary sacrifice it. Make a couple of hundred every year by reselling second hand.
if every year, Just trade in and save the hassle from $hit buyers
So if you buy this one price beat at office work with giftcard you can get it from 1445$ - 1530$ depends on whether you get the rare 15% off or normal 10% off. After:
- 1 year of usage: guarantee at least 1000$ resell value.
- 2 years: 800$
- 3 years: 600$
So for a year of usage you lose about 500$ in value, 2 years is 700$ or 350$ a year. 3 years is 300$ a year or less than a dollar a day. I usually resell mine at 2 years mark as I deemed it optimal. Besides thats just guarantee minimum mean you put it on market place or group at that price and it will go immediately. If you can wait or want to spend time finding a buyer then 1-200$ can be achieved. 300$ more is a stretch but not unachievable. Its exponentially better than 3-400$ android phone for sure. And the experience doesnt change even after 3-4 years. It doesnt “feels” slow like a 3-400$ android phone especially 3-4 years old one.
did you forget about the flybuys and one pass?I got 40k flybuys from 3 phones
Yeah thats another 50$. And if youre a traveller trs refund 160$.
if you are using Android so much then iPhone will feel like a toy to you with very subtle and some very apparent annoyances.
But if its the case you want to try iOS then the eEonomic case will not make sense either because the best resale is within 1year at 50% money loss(thats $1k down in the 1st year).Mate, if you can make a $300 Android phone last about 4-5 years, that's all good.
But if you want premium quality stuff (especially if you care about camera specs and all that), then sure, an iPhone will be worthwhile for ya.
If your $300 phone suits all your needs and wants, then i'd say stick with it. It won't change much if you get an iPhone (which is about 5-6 times the cost right now, with not much benefit to you).
I think the thing I'd appreciate is a better camera, but I'm not sure how I could achieve that without costing an arm or a leg.
There's a pretty big middle ground between 400 and 1500. Pixel 7 or 8.
If you can make budget phones last that long then there isn't an economic argument to be made because one of the primary argument of buying the latest iPhone is that it will last a long time. And it's not just iPhones, you can also get flagship Samsung or Google phones.
If you've always used budget phones, treating yourself to a nice phone is worth it if you can afford it though.
Did you call them or just go into store?
Went to the store and got pricebeat by 5%
Use the celebration gift card(purchased getting 10% off) and get it for 1530.
Celebration gift card limit you to officeworks and not to places like JB and TGG. For me personally I wouldn’t take the risk buying it unless you can use it for other things should you not be able to use at officeworks for iPhone. Officeworks are a pain to deal with and harder to price beat. Better to get Ultimate GC when they are available. You can even purchase apple GC with UGC at JB.
Simply get 20x reward points with Apple gift card now from Woolies will bring you to $1681* and you buy from Apple direct where they honor much better support down the track. *this is if you usually shops at Woolies.
Apple will not price beat it :( And they mostly will NOT price match 3rd party seller on marketplace(s) either.
not 3rd party or grey imports. But they do match stores like jb / hn / ow etc
My point was without price beat you buy via gift card was already cheaper than the posted offer (if you shop at Woolies anyway)
Plus you can choose any colour any capacity still come out cheaper than price beating at OW, so really don’t see a point. Unless never shop at Woolies.
@Noslee: Right…but they also sell 10% discount GC (or 20X points GC) that works at OW. So there is more potential savings there!
Thanks OP, didn’t need it but ended up buying it.
My local OW refused to PM using MyDeal as it was sold by a third party seller and there was no model number in the MyDeal ad.
Anyway, ended up showing BuyMobile listing which has the same price and model number was listed so it was all good in the end.
Awesome, looks like depends on the Officeworks store person. Anyways good that you got the phone, it looks and performs amazing.
Same, OW Doncaster refused to beat MyDeal but accepted BuyMobile, thanks for that.
