Good deal considering the double batteries- which certainly look to be the older model type. Sure, not the brushless version but I’ve had brushed one for 10 years of solid diy use and it never missed a best. Using every day, maybe want more power but for the backyard warrior- this would be pretty good.

  • I do need to get a new drill as my old bosch green one from 15 years ago is a bit here and there…

I would definately buy if it came with the l-boxx, but especially the plastic insert to store the tools neatly within the lboxxx.

  • Sorry new to these tools. Can the battery be used on Bosch gardening tools?

I advice you send an e-mail to Bosch, they always replay to requests.

      no, different battery

Yep, the batteries do vary. I couldn't find a lot of info specifically, but they differ with 'bosch professional' vs 'bosch DIY'. The professional is also called 'blue' vs DIY 'green'.

They do look fairly similar. The DIY batteries are rebranded as 'power for all alliance' or power4all, something like that.

The DIY batteries have a more enclosed hood around the top of the battery. Also have different chargers (as far as I can tell).

  • I saw some Blue/Pro Bosch 1/4 sheet sanders $90 in the clearance trolley at Bunnings Scoresby yesterday. I was tempted to I looked at the battery/charger prices since I don't have any, and quickly decided no. They were more than this entire kit for just a battery and charger.

The two batteries and the charger are the only valuable thing.
The impact driver, I don't need it because I can use the drill.
The drill is a cheap one with the plastic chuck so I would definitely look at other cheaper offers from Ozito or Ryobi.

The AEG kit is pretty good and comes with a grinder and 2 6ah batteries + carry bag

    • It has a higher value for the money so for $100 more it's a real bargain.
You get 3 tools, the drill has a metal chuck compared to the Bosch's plastic one, 2x 6Ah batteries, a bigger tool bag and a full kit of drill bits.

    • Not familiar with brands of tools. Is AEG a good brand or is this similar to ryobi and etc?

AEG would be trade quality… On the level of DeWalt makita

        • thanks

Bosch: ECU, washing/dish machine, power tools.
Much better than crap and expensive Ryobi.

  • There is a slightly better Bosch set for $349 (but only has 1 battery and charger)

There's a much better Bosch set for $447 that comes with 2 batteries (plus a 3rd battery and 2nd charger via redemption)

All of these are overkill for many home DIY users though. There's a lot of Black Fri specials at Amazon.com.au on the "green" home & garden range which has a slightly larger range of tools to use the batteries in. Also, much cheaper than the "blue".

I bought a cheap $79.95 kit with 2.0Ah battery and it was ample to put up 3 sets of blinds and fix up the fence gate on a single charge. The main difference between "green" and "blue" is the "green" have 3 year warranty vs 6 years, but the downside is the "blue" tools are much heavier as they're meant for hardcore trade/professional use.
