  Anyone know if you pre order through GMG and add the code to Steam if it gives you the Civ V bonus?
  [I guess as a minimum it would need you to be given the code now vs on launch]

    Usually with GMG you get the CD key and can enter it before the game goes live (it was that way with Borderlands 2 recently, and other games I've preordered). Whether that gives you access to the Civ V bonus, I'm not sure. As far as I know that's a promotion offered by Steam, so I doubt they'll provide it for people who preordered elsewhere. You definitely get the Elite Soldier preorder pack though.

      yeah .. I'm wondering how it all shows in Steam. If I buy a game outside it normally shows as 'retail' and when I have pre ordered in Steam it shows a game place holder with "pre order" after it's name in the library. Guess I need someone else to buy it.

        It will show as a preorder in Steam once you have the code. But that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the same as preordering through Steam in terms of getting Civ V.

    Actually, I did know about that, and I went through the same thing when I listed the last GMG coupon. I asked on the forums about whether or not the subsequent 6 bargains that listed different games were just dupes, but scotty said they're all valid: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80313. I'm just following the guidelines provided.
