Prices have not gone up. Note that tips are expected.

    • I didn't think of that at all.

      Thanks for the tip.

Gratuities are included in fares for Australia.

      Note that tips are expected.

      By whom?
Done 4 cruises, never tipped once.

      • By the staff who clean up your room everday, or anyone that that went a great length to service you. They expect that, being US based company. No one force you to do that though, just remember they are staff recruited from poor countries with meager salary per our standard.

        • By the staff who clean up your room everday, or anyone that that went a great length to service you.

I'm paying for that service through the fare. How to decide who to tip and who not to? Do you tip your Amazon delivery driver? They went to great lengths to service you…

@1st-Amendment: Calm down dude, don't get fire up :D. I did not say it is mandatory nor required. But it is your choice to reward exceptional service.

            • @cheapo999:

              Calm down dude

              Who said I wasn't calm?

But it is your choice to reward exceptional service.

I do by using and paying for the service. Making a bed or serving food doesn't qualify as exceptional in my opinion, but you do you…

  • Any recommendations for 1-2 week cruises for couples that return to the same port?

      New Zealand.

I did Cairns to Auckland when that was $200 and it was awesome! First time being on a cruise, and absolutely loved it.

NZ is good because it's close, so it's a good way to wet your feet and you'll get to stop at a few different locations too

  • I’ve got a 2 and 4 year old kid, the 4 year old I can put in the card kid program but I still have to lug the 2 year old around? 😬

  • How to book?

  • doesnt sound like fun

  • Are you required to have travel insurance ?

Went on this cruise the other way two weeks ago, well worth the price specially if you enjoy cocktails get the free drinks package, there is a limit but which you cannot reach.
Free entertainment, great crowd management with medallion. Loved it!

  • It says drinks not included. How much is juice or water cost onboard ah? What about the restaurants? How much a fried rice?

    • Food are included in some eatery including buffet for the 3 main meals for the day. Coffee, tea, iced tea, and water are supposed to be available free from these locations all day.

  • Never been on a cruise, are kids aged 5 and under, counted as a guest?

  • I just booked, thanks to Bangkokbreakfast for the post.

  • Can I bring a 1.5L sealed bottle of water on board ?

    • Yeah "water" right…

  • Is this cheaper than Spirit of Tasmania from Melb to Hobart?

  • erm i guess is 1-way to Sydney?

  • Sold out - it's only "balcony" for $309 available

  • Hardly 2 nights.. really 1 day and a bit. the second night, disembark at 6AM in Sydney.. so need to get up at 5am to get stuff packed, unless you go to sleep at 9pm the night before it wouldnt be great

    • I think you get to until 8.30am to get off.

      • Fair enough but still on a boat for less than 2 days .. i guess its worth it for the food and grog.. rather pay few hundred more and go for 10 days

    • yeh that means you can't get blinded drunk on the last night cos i'll be hung over AF if I were to have unlimited alcohol

the Petri dish on water must not be selling well - admire the people who still go on these 🤣🤣

sounds like along the handrails will be a popular spot

  • FYI, if you hold 100+ Carnival shares (CCL), you can apply for free onboard credits for any cruise you take on any of their ship. The amount depends on the the number of days you travel.

For this particular trip, it will be AUD$50.
