Would it be better to donate just $50

    • You do end up getting 70 amex points instead of 50 , previous deals gave 1500 amex points. I had to call red cross for them to stop sending me letters asking for more donations.

    • Wouldn’t that mean the Red Cross would receive $20 less in donations than if you gave $70? Not sure if they have to ‘subsidise’ part of the promotion alongside Amex (like I assume normal businesses might with such cashback deals) but hopefully not.

    Nice. Tax deductible too.

  • Targeted I think - not on my platinum card, reserve or edge

  • Thanks, found it in my offers thanks to your post

  • This offer could be used at the Red Cross shop?

    https://shop.redcross.org.au/

    • Doubt it would apply for purchases from their shop if the offer specifically refers to ‘Donate’.

      • I think it still would work as long as Red Cross is still the payment processor (which it looks like it does). Nevertheless I would rather make a tax deductible donation rather than spend $50 on things I don't need.
