Join eBay Plus for $9.99 for 1 Year (Was $49 Per Year) @ eBay Australia

13600

Just went to sign up for eBay Plus on my inactive account and saw that they are offering $9.99 eBay Plus memberships for 1 year (thanks to @Ramennightmare)

Don't forget your $20 cashback when you click via TopCashback and sign up. Thanks to @MiscOzB

If not using TopCashback, head to the eBay Plus page and try to sign up (either find the banner or just try to sign up as usual). The offer will be there on the payment screen where you select your membership plan.

Thanks to @nicholasv go to this link and accept this offer for a $20 voucher before signing up to the $9.99 deal. You might be lucky and score a $20 voucher, making eBay pay you to be a Plus member. After signing up, find the voucher here. (long-running deal) might not work from reports

For those currently on eBay Plus membership, accept this $30 gift card offer then proceed to cancel your membership. When you sign on to this deal, sometimes eBay will still send you the $30 Gift Card (at a later date). (long-running deal)

Mine expired few days ago - no $9.95 offer for me.
I guess I have to wait longer.

    • +2

Mine expired 11th got it today

      • 1 week is the time then

  • +2

Mine expired on the 16th yesterday and not available today. Hoping to wait a few more days for it to work.

  • +3

My accounts that expired last week, and have not been eligible for this offer, now all are (as of this morning, 19th Nov.) so those who didn't get it, I would suggest checking again.

    • Unfortunately not for me, expired 16th, still free trial and then revert to $49 plan.

      • +3

dude read what people are writing. you need to wait at least 1 week (7 days)

        • It's probably a 5 day wait. Mine expired 16th and I just checked and the offer has appeared (21st)

          • @vengeance88: I see it as a popup on the main page but when I click through it shows $49.
Same expiry of previous date as you.

            • +1

@SBOB: Keep trying. Hopefully it'll show up.

The renewal screen had 3 choices.

              1) $5 per month
              2) $9.95 for first year
              3) $49 for a year

Option 2 had something like 'limited offer' next to it

    • Mine expired 16/11 and I just checked and I got it today 21/11.

  • Mine expired on roughly the 13th and I see my offer pop up today!

  • I can't even cancel my current eBay plus membership, which is odd. No cancel button shows up under the "Edit membership" dropdown. Unsure if this is because my membership still has 6 months left, or if it's a bug on eBays end when retrieving the webpage (Or perhaps it's deliberate by eBay to stop people cancelling so easily and have to go through their terrible support lines). I've tried mobile and multiple browsers.

    • I think you have already cancelled the payments. Doesn't seem like you can opt out of the plus status till it expires.
My plus expires on the 27th. Would probably be too late.

      • Hmm, possibly, maybe I just forgot I cancelled it, but there's no button to reactivate the membership either 🤔

  • Mine expired 17/11 and the $9.99 offer was available today, thanks for the post!

    • What do you mean 'expired' ?

      Doesn't it auto-renew
or did you just opt out ?

      • sometimes you pay for a service for a certain period and it 'expires' after that.

      • +1

Thats right, as cumova says.. I subscribed to Ebay Plus a year ago and cancelled immediately, the plan will stay active for the duration of your paid subscription and will 'expire' at the end date. I did the same thing here, as soon as I paid the $9.99 for 12 months I cancelled the subscription so it won't roll over at full price next year. It will however stay active for the full duration.. hopefully they have another deal next November.

        • That's awesome.

It's just that if I cancel now,
I lose out on the eBay Plus deals now,
and I won't be able to list anything for sale,
to qualify for the FVF-free listings for these months.
( I do have something to sell, but I've been lazy lately )

  • My $9.99 offer appeared today after waiting a week.

  • +2

Cancelled my eBay plus membership 14/11 before it was due to renew on 15/11 (accepted the $30 gift card offer to stay before proceding to still cancel). This $9.99 deal popped up on 20/11, so I signed back up. Today (23/11) I received the $30 gift card via eBay message and email. Thanks all for the info! I also used the $20 promo voucher offer to re-sign up but as with others no luck with stacking that one.

    • Did the same and its been 4 days now and didn't receive the $30 voucher yet. Talked to support and they are telling me that I am ineligible since I did not let my membership roll over and instead cancelled and joined later. Ebay is bloody ass crap.

      • +1

I resubscribed on the 21st and was hoping to receive the $30 voucher based on pjsum's experience but I haven't received anything.

        • Now it seems pretty weird as to how pjsum got his $30 Voucher.

          • +1

            @ninohax: @BargainsGrabber also got his $30

            • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Yup, can confirm

But I signed up when eBay targeted me with a $4.99 yearly membership instead

              • @BargainsGrabber: @BargainsGrabber How did you get a $4.99 yearly membership offer? Targeted Specifically?

                • +1

@ninohax: My monthly membership was ending and I had no reoccurring monthly subscription set up. I was going to hop onto the $9.99 deal but I guess I was lucky to be targeted

          • @ninohax: Perhaps it has to do with timing? @Nousernamehere mentioned above that they were also able to get it. They accepted the $30 offer and signed back up the next day. I accepted the $30 offer for the first time the night before it was due to renew and was signed back up within 6 days.

            • @pjsum: Don't think so, I cancelled on 15th and signed back on 21st (6 days just like you). Just to be clear I signed up for $9.99 PA.

              • @ninohax: Very strange then. I also waited for the $9.99 PA deal to show. Here are my screens

                • @pjsum: Quite strange indeed Thank you sharing the SS though.

  • This TopCashback $20 cashback is offer is confusing.

It says for "New customers only" but if I'm a new customer (so I created a new eBay account). But eBay forces me to a free 30 day trail when I try signing up for 1 year?

Can someone give the steps of what I need to do? Use an EXISTING account? Doesn't that contradict TopCashbacks' terms?

  • Question for experts please. If I buy discounted ebay gift card from say Macquarie bank, can I use them on ebay and still use/enter discount code BFDEAL or BFTOPDEAL? Thanks

    • +1

Yes you can stack 1 coupon code + gift cards together

      • Thanks, I am eyeing an item cost $1400 and has $330 off with a code, so remaining $1,061 to pay.
I can get discounted ebay gift card 2% so would save another $20, but I am afraid it would be too risky if it did not work, so will end up with such a big ebay gift card.. So would I just enter the gift card number in the same box where you enter code/vouchers?

        • I think there is a maximum number of gift card you can use, off the top of my head it is 7? But hopefully someone else here will know

Yep same box for coupon/gift cards

Make sure you keep your ebay gift card codes. They are not locked to your account unless you use at least a portion of it. You cannot just add gift cards and have a large balance like amazon.

          • @CodeXD: I can buy one gift card value $1,000 from Macquarie bank to save @20. I presume they will email me the code.
So I just enter that code in the code/voucher box along with BFTOPDEAL code and I guess can pay the remaining balance of $61 by Visa card, is that right?

          • +1

@CodeXD: Thanks mate, I tried it first with small gift card then large one (total 3 gift cards) and it all worked fine, was straightforward.

  • I do not understand the love for this deal/eBay plus… I have never found it to give much of a discount. Just signed up because of the upvotes, and my item is exactly the same price. And again eBay's annoying "We'll send you a $5 voucher… some time in the future" bs

    Am I missing something?

    • Ebay plus is good but you still need to do your own research on what you want.

Take a look at previous ebay plus deals and you will find there are definitely bargains to be had.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/ebay.com.au

    • Am I missing something?

      Many things.

eBay Plus gives you one or two $5 vouchers every month, you get an extra 2% off most discount codes, and you get free/reduced fees on one sale a month.

It easily pays for itself, even at the full $50 price.

      • What do you usually use the $5 vouchers on?

  • -1

My $5 voucher hasn't arrived (yet?!)

Got an eBay Plus ($9.95) subscription via TopCashBack about 6 hours ago, still isn't showing as tracking… should it be updated by now? Thinking of cancelling- I am fed up with chasing eBay for vouchers etc they promise and don't deliver…

  • Is the $20 top cashback still working?

    • No

Cashback not currently available for eBay Plus, browse our alternative merchants below or search above.

      Go with shopback

EDIT: just saw the comments that shopback ebay plus is also unavailable lol

      • Lol!
I have the worst timing - I always miss these =P Ah well

        Thanks anyoo :)

  • My membership lapsed about a week ago when I signed up to the $9.99 deal last year.

Got the $9.99 offer show up today. Membership definitely paid for itself multiple times over last year.

  • +1

I paid $10 for this offer for a year membership, saved so far $665 from plus benefits, can’t complain!

  • +2

eBay sent me $30 GC to my email today wooooo (for ref I signed up few days ago).

    • Good to know! I’ll wait in anticipation :) is there a minimum spend associated with the $30 GC?

  • +1

Membership ends in a week hope this deal lasts until then.

  • +2

No tracking after 7 days, I've just lodged a claim. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!

    • Same. No tracking and also lodged a claim

    • Were you signing up to Ebay Plus for the first time?

      • Not for the first time, I had ebay plus on the account from May 2022 to May 2023.

Regardless of if I am a first time eBay plus member or not, it should still track if the purchase was made with the cashback link, even if later down the track it is declined due to not a new member.

I also clicked through for chemist warehouse deal like 20 mins later and that has tracked so I think the issue is more on ebay's side than TCB.

        • So basically you are trying your luck with the chances of it getting approved close to zero? And by the way what did you put in the order number field whilst putting in the claim in TCB ?

          • +1

@ninohax: Why do you assume it will be close to zero? There are plenty of people who had their ebay plus lapse and got their tracking.

what did you put in the order number field whilst putting in the claim in TCB ?

I used the transaction ID from my credit card statement.

            • @CodeXD: I am assuming it based on the fact that TCB T&C had clearly stated that only new ebay plus signups are eligible for cashback.

              • @ninohax: But at which point is this checked?

Are you implying that if I sign up with an account that previously had eBay plus then it will never track even if I do everything perfectly? From experience most cashbacks are track first and then further down the track it is declined due to T&C.

                • @CodeXD: No that's not what I meant. It should definitely track and would track in a ideal case scenario but what's the use of it getting tracked if you are never going to get the cashback as it wouldn't be approved.

                  • +1

@ninohax: Firstly, we both agree that it should track, so that is why I am following up on it.

Secondly, I don't actually think eBay will send account details back to topcashback as to whether the account is a new plus member or not. I think it will actually be knocked back due to the $9.99 promotion and topcashback can say it doesn't stack with cashback. And that's fine, I have no qualm if that is the case.

I am also interested in learning the logical process of how all the cashback work. Especially since this didn't track but another one that I did in exactly the same way did. This will provide me with a better understanding of what to do and what not to do for topcashback.

    • @CodeXD Finally received the $20 cashback today. Took a while as they had approved earlier but forgot to add the cashback so I couldn't claim.
      Hope you got yours too

      • Thanks, I checked my claim and sure enough there is $20 waiting for me to accept offer and close claim!

  • Went to buy a 3M hdmi v2.1 cable and now realised my eBayPlus expired today.

No emails or offers as I turned down the original offer but not sure what the choices are now. Will eBay send future offers in the next week or 2 out of chance?

    • it's available to everyone for $10 for the year. just click to where you would normally sign up

      • I don't think so, or not at the moment. The offer was targeted at certain eBay members

My last year membership just expired as of yesterday, today I click on anything eBayPlus and cannot see a $9.99 offer.

When I click on the main link from the OP all I see is: The best of eBay for only $4.99 a month

Maybe its just time to give ebay a miss. Or are there any other ex ebayplus members out there who can access the $9.99 deal and have still signed up?

        • just read the comments mate. wait at least 6-7 full days after expiry it will come up if you are eligible.

          • @cumova: I thought I had previously but haven't followed the thread each and every day.

Will do a wait till next week, thanks for the update on that 👍

        • There should be option for 1 year plan for 9.99. It was available to me as soon as my plus lapsed a few days ago. I did not get any targeted emails. The link on this page will not take you there

          • @ironworthy: Thanks for the update on that, but can you share, what page or where about in your ebay login did you see the link for option 1?

As I cant see anything which gives me any option except if I click on eBayPlus there are not options that I can see.

            • +1

@zztrader: make sure you are already logged in - I can see the $9.99 for annual plan

              https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/subscription/signup

Have a read of this too. See if you can stack cashback as well as bonus $20 credit ahaha

EDIT: looks like cashback is unavailable, but you can still try to stack with $20

              • @CodeXD: Excellent, that link took me right to it, Thanks guys, amazing, all done.

I am not part of any cashback so still happy to get another 12 months for $9.99.

After signing up from that link though, the appearance changed back to how it was before how I could see it. So likely a browser cache issue.

Thanks again people, much appreciated. 🙏

  • +1

Does marketing emails have to be turned on to get the $30 voucher?

  • Thank you just renewed at $10 for the year

  • I got the $30 gift card when I tried to cancel and I also got 2x$20 vouchers this morning for letting it renew.

    Thanks OP!

    • Did you also only pay $9.99?

I got the $30 and 2 x $20, but paid the full price to renew. Wasn't sure if I could cancel and then sign up for $9.99 afterwards. Thought the $9.99 was targeted

      • No, I paid the full price. I was thinking the same as you about the $9.99 to cancel.

This worked out pretty well though. Pretty much eBay plus free for a year and an extra $20 to spend.

      • did you all get $30 gift card straightaway? I still don't have mine yet

        • I got mine a couple days after. The 2x$20 vouchers took a couple weeks to come through though.

  • I haven't got my ebay gift card yet, did anyone got theirs yet?

    • renewed on 25/11 and didn't get anything. didn't really expect to honestly.

  • +1

TopCashback says my $20 is “confirmed”, just waiting for it to be available now

eBay paying me $10 to be a member for another year

    • wonder if have to cancel current eplus first, wait after the actual expire day, then click link to join as new e+ ?

  • Love this - eBay literally paying me to stay a member.

I went to cancel last week, and accepted the offer for the $30 gift card to "stay". Went ahead and cancelled anyway and my membership lapsed on the 11th. Signed up again on the 12th for $9.99 and I get my $30 gift card today :D

  • Has anyone received their $5 off $15 spend since renewing/signing up?

    • I received mine at the beginning of this month

  • +1

wow, I accepted 2x20$ offer before i cancelled, then cancelled, waited a few days, got the 9.99 offer and accepted

just realised they sent me 2 x $20 vouchers as well!!!

profit of $30 for joining again haha!

    • I thought you only got the 2x $20 vouchers if you let the subscriptions auto renew. You got lucky there. Awesome

    • +1

Me too. And $20 TopCashBack. Yay
