  • Anyone know if your activation details need to match the ones you entered during purchase?

Thinking of gifting one to my gf.

    • +2

      NO

  • Thank you @gotyourback

  • Knowing that you have to activate all 3 of the SIMs in order to get the $5 profit for each sim, plus $15 bonus cashback through the challenge, what should I do with the other 2 sims if I want to use 1 of them for my number now?

Do I just throw them away? Give them to someone else? If I recall correctly there is no way to data share on boost?

    • +1

yeah same dilemma here i just need one should i just close my eyes and buy 3….
maybe activate all and look for 2 new girlfriends?

      • +1

1 for the missus and 2 for the new girlfriends HaHa :)

        • +1

that is better than 3 for 3 missuses! omg triple pains

  • +1

order 3 sims, 2 went through with no issue, 1 with error page but credit card charged and email from boost said order received. not sure if shopback will track that error one or not, let 's see.

    • Same here.

      • Received tracking confirmation for the other two so looks like it hasn't tracked. Going to be a pita to chase it up.

        • +1

same here, but asked boost online chat they said as long as the order email confirmed then system will shows up after 1 or 2 hours, they will then confrim and shopback will tracked. not sure, will wait and see.

          • @fly121121: Let's see but I highly doubt it's going to track tbh. Also trying to complete the 3 transactions challenge so I've tried to place another order just in case but the Boost site seems to be broken.

I’m still getting the something is wrong error and haven’t been able to purchase a sim for nearly 2 months. Tried everything different in the order form.
It can’t be an IT glitch since the something is wrong error has been going on for a very long time firstly for activation and then for purchasing.

If it is fraud detection, you can blame all the people on here, who have bought obscene amounts of sims at the same time (over 10) just for profit.

And unless someone else knows another way these Boost sim offers is the only way to get new phone numbers.

You can say goodbye to free phone network and data connection and all the new number deals, offers, and discounts. These far outweigh the profits made on these cashback offers.

    • Hey mate, same experience here. This problem doesn't happen with CashRewards, so i doubt its overly-dilugent fraud detection.

      • It happens on both SB and CR

Tried different devices and even location if it was location based lol.

It’s too late now, In hindsight you should not abuse the deal that you need to get other deals lol

  • My brain is hurting.. So this sim becomes $45 every 28 days to continue? Looking for something cheap for my mother as she doesn't use much but Optus is ripping her off.

    • +2

Towards the end of the month, churn out of Boost Mobile and then back in via a different Boost Mobile sim, eg. Get a $5 Aldi Sim, transfer to them, upon activation then churn out of Aldi and back into Boost using a new sim card. Just means you will have to keep swapping sim cards but you will save a bit of $$$.

Otherwise wait for a 365 day unlimited calls/text deal to become available, usually around $99+ via Amaysim or Catch Mobile.

      • Appreciate it, thanks!

        • +1

There should some deals soon this month as Black Friday is coming.

  • -2

Fancy how on the best phone deal there is a downvoter still up.
Yep Ozwide Boost has the best value for money, with cashback one wonders where that Telstra profit is all ending up.

Paying Boost for roaming in India is a total waste of time!

Many countries they don't roam at all.

  • So we must activate all SIM cards to receive the cashback? And if we don’t want to keep paying, just cancel at 27 days?

    • +1

Correct, activate within 30 days. No need to cancel as they are prepaid. By default "Auto Recharge" is off so they will just expire if you don’t manually top them up.

    • Within 30 days, yes. When you activate just don't enable auto-renewal, no need to manually cancel (once you have too many numbers though you may need to deactivate your older numbers before you can activate a new sim).

      • +4

To Deactivate = getting the expired sims deleted from ones account. This can only be done by calling Boost or Telstra as there is no method to self delete. If ignored, they will eventually clear after approx 90days.

        • Thanks for the detailed info, any idea how many numbers we can have before having to do this?

          • @Hiphopopotamus: Not sure and mixed opinions on this. I am going to say 15 max but I never let mine go beyond 5.

            • @Borg: Comments on this deal say 35, perhaps including expired ones.

I'll just keep using them and if one day I need to manually deactivate some numbers I will.

  • When you guys are talking about tracking, are you guys talking about the tracking in the app notification or email? I find that email tracking usually takes much longer to come through even though it tracks on the app. Sometimes the email takes days to come, even if there's an immediate notification on the app.

    • Main place is having it showing as Tracked within your account (not to be confused with click history).
I find the email arrives around the same time as tracking occurs but not a big deal if never received as long as it is tracked.

  • Super dumb question….T&Cs mention SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

So if I buy the SIM today (01 Nov) does that mean I have to activate it by 30 Nov or is 01 Dec the last day to activate?

    • +1

Geesus don't do thing last minute

      • Haha I know, just trying to line up when my current SIM expires
Feels wrong wasting a day or two when porting out early

    • +1

01 Dec is fine. I do mine on the 30th day without issue during the day and not at 1 min to midnight :-)

      • Thanks!

  • +3

Used multiple browsers, different email, mobile but always get "Something went wrong" error.

Partner is getting the same thing. What a waste of time

    • Head scratching indeed. Can only suggest (as you have tested on different browsers on different devices). Do you use a VPN or any Ad Blockers. If using Mobile data, try via LAN. Try on a PC if using a Mobile or vice versa.

    • same thing different: name, email, phone, brower, wifi-mobile network, pc-mobile, card. Same error.

      • weird. I just tested for what its worth. Got through to final check out screens using rubbish details (name, address, email etc). I stopped there as don’t need another.

        • It's during payment processing that it keeps giving a technical error message.

  • Has anyone actually managed to get an order through last couple of hours? Tried pretty much everything but all I get are technical issues error screens during payment processing.

    • +1

I had no issues through the shopback app. No tracking yet though.

      • Ah ok I've tried like a million times but no cigar. Weird can't work it out.

      • +3

Tracking usually updates at 3 mins past every hour in your account, 5 mins past to your email.

Next update should be 22.03 PM AEST.

        • Thank you. Tracked on the dot.

    • +1

Yes, but first time ever I encountered error. It went through after change details. It worked for the email that has not been created for Boost ID.

      • I don't think I have any Boost accounts. Not sure what the issue is.

        • +1

it won't be that as I use the same email when ordering each time and never have an issue. The ordering email only relates to where invoice etc goes to. Has no bearing on the email used once received and activating

  • Too much trouble, I think I'll wait for the next round…

    • It didn't work for you? After resisting so long, I've been suck down the boost sim rabbit hole.

  • Yeah boost needs to fix their website. Earlier today I couldn't even activate my sim because they aren't sending their stupid two factor emails out properly, now I am wasting my time trying to order a sim over and over.

  • So can one order as many of these as possible, and get Cashback for each transaction? Doesn't seem to be a limit lol

    • +1

No limit. Go nuts if you dare

  • Ordered 3 with plenty of time apart and separate sessions for each but only 2 tracked noooooooooo :(

  • +1

With Boost Mobile, I recall that you can still receive incoming sms (and perhaps incoming phone calls too) 6 months after the SIM had expired.

It appears now that after the SIM had expired, you can’t receive any incoming sms/calls anymore. I am seeing this. Can anyone confirm this too?

    • +2

Love the way you get negged for asking a good question. Bloody OZB Idiots who do this without a reason or answering you question. Have a + to balance the idiots neg. :-)

I have an expired SIM (2 weeks) and can still receive SMS's and calls onto it. Just can't make calls. I believe they remain active for up to 90days (was what I was told by agent yesterday). Not sure I would take their word for it though and never tested 90 days in

      • Thanks for the upvote 😆

I made a mistake I had confirmed with another OzBargainer that it will actually remain active for 6 months after expiry in receiving incoming text.

  • +1

Ordered 3 but only 2 turned up in the mail today. Hopefully other one hasn't been lost and will arrive tomorrow.

    • This is the exact same as me. Did your 3rd arrive?

      • Yes, arrived yesterday thankfully. Successfully activated 2 so far. Had some trouble with the second, but using a different device + verification method worked.

        • Beauty! Hopefully my third is on the way. I'm in regional Queensland, it's just weird when two show up but not the third.
I've got so many bloody boost sims now, it must be giving me unnecessary anxiety!

    • +1

Still waiting for mine. Usually they are quick but not this time and no shipping notification either!

    • +1

      Same lol

      • Mine arrived today.

  • Wow this is what Shopback have come back with after I put in a missing cashback request when I made 3 separate orders that only 2 tracked on SB. Each session I did exactly the same thing

Hi X, we regret to inform that your missing Cashback claim for Boost Mobile has been rejected.

Upon investigation, your Boost Mobile transaction for order ID XXX was not tracked accurately which could be due to the following reasons:
You've clicked on another browser extension after clicking from ShopBack
Other web pages or browsers (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional or discount sites) were opened after clicking from ShopBack
Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up or advertisement from the store's page.
Using Antivirus, Cleanup or Adblocker applications may also disrupt Cashback tracking as tracking cookies are required to accurately track your transactions.

    • The bog standard canned reply. Just send them receipt and match it to the click history which I assume shows up?

      • that was the reply to the missing cashback request where I sent them the receipt + matched it to the click history

        • +1

Sorry, yes you did note that initially.
I'd be asking for a management response as you have fulfilled your end of the deal and have supplied proof. They now need to meet their end of the deal.

    • +3

Hey mate, happy to try and escalate this further to Boost, as this is the response that typically is sent when missing Cashback is rejected by the store but no reason is provided. Happy to try and chase down more info for you and try and get this rectified for you.

      • awesome - thanks GYB. Ill shoot you a pm!

  • So I just activated finally all my 3x sim cards (within 30 days ordering), how long until the pending becomes successful plus the 3 online transaction $15.00 bonus?

    • It will show in your SB account. Just expand the pending cashbacks and there should be a date.

      • Mines says 26th Jan 24, gotta check back on Australia Day…
