Just spent over $50 last night on two random Knipex pliers I'll probably never use. Do I need a half-decent hammer? Probably, thanks OP!

    • If you bought the pliers wrench or the cobra pliers you will definitely use them and be glad you bought them every time you do :)

Even the 125mm pliers wrench that I never thought id use has come in extremely handy, probably gets the MOST use.

      • Sorry about the delayed reply. I had to jump on my PC to properly reply with hyperlinks as I'm too dumb on the Amazon app to be able to copy the link for the product.

These were the two I got. The 1000v Round Pliers 160mm and the Electronic Super Knips® VDE Insulated 125mm. Second one sounds and looks (minus the tacticool colour) like bomb defusal pliers so I had to incase the moment every arose.

Also, I got the Milwaukee Torque Lock Long Nose Pliers 152 mm on back order from last week. Hopefully they'll all fit in the Knipex 8 compartment Tool Bag I ordered last week aswell for $24.

thanks grabbed the round pliers ….

          • @garage sale: No worries! Hopefully you find good use for it! 😉 I'm still trying to work out what I'll use it for.. All I can think of is it's good for spinning wire.. 🤣 Maybe help unclip some hose clamps? 😅

Awesome, looks like you're well stocked up!

i hope you just forgot to add you brought wera's to lol

  • OOS

    • Yes, but still orderable.

The best case for me as I don't need to pay the special price until they get it in stock anyway. I don't really need tools next day.. 😅

  • Do temporarily out of stock Amazon orders ever get supplied? I've got 2 of them going now with this but zero expectation of ever seeing my $15.90 hammer.

    • +1

Yeah, most of mine do. I only ever got some random broom or mop for $1.90 that was delayed for over 12 months. I think it was eventually cancelled as they stopped selling and removed item completely, I believe.

    • +1

ask for promo credit and they will give you $5

    • +1

I think I've only ever had 1 out of many many backorders that ended up being cancelled.

      • How many months did it take?

        • Pretty sure some went over 6 months. Now that I think about it, I've had 2 cancelled. One was a few years ago, the other was maybe this year?

    • yes ,,, ordered a stanley plane from UK arrived about 2 mths later …

    • Did you get the enail last night? Our new bangers should be here on Wednesday!

OOS in the words of MC… You can't touch this.

    smashing deal

    • Claw back savings

  • Unfortunate timing with recent events

    • Serious, what event?

      • If you dont know, you've done well to avoid it. "Front page" news for a week or so now? If you really must know there was an incident at St Andrew’s Cathedral School. I don't want to say too much here.

  • There's another hammer at 15.90 as well, anyone know the difference? Seems to have a rubber grip

    • +1

the $15.90 is same one bunnings has at similar price ….

cant be delivered to Sydney CBD near townhall.

  • 20 oz is a pretty heavy hammer.
    16 oz ( one pound ) hammer
I think is easier on the wrist .

    • So you'd prefer this wood handle one at $10 (which it sometimes is).

      https://www.totaltools.com.au/108307-stanley-16oz-wood-claw-…

      • I’m saying 20oz is too heavy to work with all day for most people but probably fine for diy jobs now and then.
FYI they do make decent 16oz hammers as they are the most common weight hammers people use

      • +1

wooden handle has benefit of no rubber grip that perishes over time but to fix a wooden handle if it breaks is a pain. 16oz is good go to and 20oz for bit of DIY .. nail gun if hammering all day , i used to use my framing hammer for pulling out nails but now use a pinch bar as it has more leverage … how tools have gotten cheaper over the last 30 years.

        • I expect fixing a fibreglass one is harder than wood

    this is not a drill
