  • Why does the website need credit card details to sign up for free membership?

    • +4

no reservation parking & plate recognition — you basically just rock up and it'll auto charge your c/card

    • +7

Like Uber and apps on your phone offering a service, you sign up for free and need credit card for automatic payment if you use the service.

Our License Plate Recognition Technology opens the gate on entry and exit and automatically charges your card on exit.

Super simple and for a great flat rate.

If not comfortable putting card details on our system, you could pay the drive up (ticketed price) $5 and $9, which is still a fantastic price.

      • any plans for more EV chargers at both Collins Place & Parkade?

        • +2

We are installing EV chargers at Collins Place shortly.
No plans for more at Parkade yet, though we are considering it.

          • @First-Parking: how many chargers?

            • +2

@RichieVn: We have two being installed on P5. The bay numbers will be 559 and 560.
They are being installed next Friday, not sure if they will be ready to use on that day but we will be trying our best.

so they can steal your info and sell it to china

Parked here last night. Amazing price!

    • how was the ramps? reviews seem to suggest really tight turns? I just started driving so not sure if I'd be confident enough to make them

      • +1

        its really tight

        • +7

I disagree. The spirals are one way and completely isolated from oncoming traffic. Most car parks you can’t get two cars around a corner going in opposite directions without letting one go first or being super careful. The one way spirals are easy to navigate - have done so with SUV many times.

Parked here yesterday for work, noticed it was only $25, at least half and the machinery had all been updated to modern stuff.

        • +1

aren’t they all tight in the CBD?

          • +4

@sween64: I find that QV is the best if you want some room to breath

              @a l an: any deals?

              • +2

                @capslock janitor:

Don't consider this a deal but here you go.

$20 All Day Parking Monday – Friday!

Spend $1 at any QV store, request a parking discount ticket and your parking will be capped at $20 all day (Monday to Friday only).*

When you reach the ticket pay station located on Level B1, insert your original ticket, followed by the discount ticket and your parking will be automatically discounted to $20. Or visit the car park office on Level B1 for assistance.

*$20 all day parking is redeemable when you enter the car park between 6am and 5pm and exit before 6am the following day.

FREE Parking* when you shop at Woolworths, Big W, Dan Murphy's or Harvey Norman/Domayne!

        • Tight but that's just how most car parks are in the city, I've seen a lot worse ones in the CBD.

        • it's not even remotely tight. what do you drive? a 1500 ram or sth?

      • Yes, agree that the spiral ramps are tight. But totally fine for my Corolla.

        • thanks! guess i'll keep parking at acdc T_T

          • +1

@nap enthusiast: the ramps have plenty of room, It is a spiral ramp so maybe takecare on first visit.

          • +7

@nap enthusiast: The spiral ramps are probably easier than the chaos of Parkade. Those narrow tight 90 degree turns are brutal.
Car park spaces are much roomier here than Parkade as well. Unless your car is super long, go with this place.

  • Is this a special or a long running deal? Either way it’s an excellent price and service.

    • +5

Not sure at this stage i would think we would keep in place for at least 4 weeks, maybe longer.

If you need parking take advantage while the price is available.

Our prices are always fair and reasonable (see our other Melb sites) as proof of our competitive pricing.

      • if we sign up now do we lock in this price

or is this deal only around for 4 weeks regardless of when u signed up?

  • Same thing happened at Darling Quarter & Darling Park car parks in Sydney. $4 to get you in and then jack right up to $30 a couple months later!

  • +1

Any availability for regular work day parking?

    • +1

We do yeah but not a "deal" as such so not listed here, we think it is a very reasonabale price still.

Flat Rate Parking All Day 4am to 4am the next day for just = $20 (Express) or $25 ticket on entry.

  • +1

Awesome, this is my favourite car park in the city :)

Isn't this parking still being run by Wilson's?

    • +1

We took over this month as First Parking since the 1st October.

  • Honestly, I love first parking.

You sign up membership with them and you just rock up and park.

Touchless experience too, the gate just open and greets you automatically.

    So cool!

    Price is cost effective too

  • saw this deal, and registered online, when I arrived the gate system didn't recognise my plate, manually check-in and out. found out the system recognised my letter O as the number 0. Is that a comm issue or only this time?

  • This is a bit dodgy. They have good rate to get you signed up with all your details. But they are not upfront that this is an opening special rate (that will obviously disappear and go up.) If they were upfront about the rate being temporary on this page and on their site then that would be fine, but being silent except hiding it in the fineprint - not good.
Fineprint on the site: "Flat rate is an opening special only."

    • Thank you for brining this to our attention, this will be removed today as our flat rates are here to stay. Before our equipment was installed we had a flat rate payable on entry.

  • 2m clearance, must be an old car park. Can't imagine building a new one these days with such low clearance.

    • Pro tip - if you need to park in CBD car parks then don't buy a vehicle over 2m high, it's totally unsuitable. Some of these buildings are a tight fit even in a small hatchback !

      • I just noticed that the new car parks tend to have a 2.1m clearance, so an improvement but not much. There are a lot of high-roof vans (Transit etc) that wouldn't fit.

  • @First-Parking - I want to use this on Saturday. Can I prebook to ensure there's a spot?

Has anyone had issues where they can't find parking?

    • This car park currently has 100 spaces available at the weekend, so lots of bays to choice from.

We don't offer prebooking, we offer Express which gives you access to a member rate.

In other car parks the pre-booking doesn't guarantee parking, only the price.

      • Hi, are you able to confirm the rates for New Years eve, will the $4 still be valid?

  • Is the ev Chager up and running now?
