Recieved in email and looked like a good deal if they work

EcoZone ecoballs are the smarter alternative to washing powder which deliver a clean laundry load, while also saving you time and money!

Did you know, over a year households with children could spend over $120 on 13KGs or more of washing powder?# Not only is it expensive, think about all the chemicals going into our waterways!

How they work: EcoZone ecoballs are filled with slowly dissolving pellets which are both child and water friendly. You'll need less than 500g to do the same job as that 13KG of washing powder and you'll also use less water, energy and money as they do not require a rinse cycle in the washing machine.

Best of all, compared to washing powder they're great value. While stocks last we're offering a year's supply† for only $45 ($38 + $7 delivery) - that's more than 33% off the RRP!

Make the smarter choice for your washing - try ecoballs today!

We use these for our daughters clothes as she has an allergy to powders. Great product for light to med soiled clothes. They include a stain remover in the pack, which seems to work! You have to refill the balls after so many washes, still works out cheaper!

Since using this product we have used the ecozone dishwasher cleaner, dishwasher smell killer and kettle de-scaler, all work well! Overall great products!

  • Maybe I'm just ignorant, but doesn't need a rinse?
Doesn't that just mean a lot of the dirty water remains with the clothes?

Much like antibacterial hand washes that "don't need rinsing"

  • i wonder what this will do to the washing machine…

  • um.. why not just use less powder?

  • Chuck a couple of tennis balls in your wash, it does the same thing.

Pummels the dirt out of the clothes a bit, pummels the life out of the clothes a bit, beats up the machine a bit.

i looked into these a while back, and most of the reviews said they do nothing, its the same as putting your clothes in the machine without washing detergent, the water still washes it. apparently a little bit of vinegar in the wash does wonders for static and stains, will have to try it. i know vinegar and bi-carb worked well for stains on my carpet and on the concrete.

    • I think those reviews were for balls which don't contain any cleaning chemicals, and supposedly last forever. Choice magazine reviewed that sort of ball, and found no measurable difference to simply forgetting to use the washing powder.

These balls at least say they have a "slowly dissolving pellet" inside, so it is possible these could work. I doubt they would do anything much for grubby clothes, but they might be okay for lightly soiled clothes.
