Only 50% of the cost of an eSIM can be paid using YOYO$

  • Do YOYO$ ever expire?

  • How much total YOYO$ would one get for signing up with a referral code?

    • Earn 50 YOYO$ for every friend who uses your link to register. You can get up to 15 rewards for inviting people.

  • Not sure how that works. I got 1500 whatevers after registration, but when I try to buy sim, it says "your best price after YOYO$" and zero discount (i.e. $20.99 before yoyo and $20.99 after)

  • Used all my data and still have two months left on my plan.
Figured a data SIM would do the job, Thanks OP. (Seems reasonable)
10gb for $15 is cheaper than extra packs elsewhere.

  • Not sure of other people’s experience with Global YO, but on the surface, their World Explorer 100 plan looked great with excellent rates. eSIM installed seamlessly on my iPhone 11.

I had Wi-Fi on the plane, so before landing in the UK, I activated the eSIM within the Global YO app. After landing I noticed I didn’t yet have any cellular service, so decided I’d give it some time. 24 hours later, the eSIM still had not found a carrier. At this stage, I was using offline maps and my hotel Wi-Fi.

I messaged them within the Global YO app and they replied after 24 hours asking me to change my APN settings, which did not need to be changed as all the information was there correctly.

I decided to purchase an eSIM from another provider at this stage. I requested a refund from Global YO and they have ignored my messages for almost 2 weeks.

I’ve since been to a few other European countries and haven’t had a carrier lock when I’ve switched to the Global YO eSIM to see if it has worked.

I’m glad to see others managed to get it working, however, I thought I’d share my negative experience to let others know.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, i will personally avoid them after hearing this.

Also, if they have ghosted you, try raising a dispute with your bank on the transaction, Product not as described

      • No problem! There’s also similar reviews on other platforms like Google, Trustpilot (unsure how reputable) and the App Store of people who have had similar issues.

I raised a chargeback with Westpac and because it was low value I got an email immediately saying they’ve refunded me in good faith, so +1 for Westpac, so thanks for the reminder!
